Hi Everybody
Please excuse my question, but i seem to have lost the ability to search the forums, i no longer have the "Search Threads" button on the top right
I'm taking delivery of a new HTC One X on the 3 network tomorrow and and i would like to root it straight away, i have come from a Wildfire and i know how important Titanium Backup is so i would like to get it straight away
can someone point me in the right direction please
Thanks

Sorry, deleted my post.

Figured out the answer to my question.
I assume you mean the notification bar... and there wouldn't be any way to remove it without rooting. Even with rooting I'm not sure its possible outside a completely custom ROM.
Why would you want to remove it anyway? Its a great part of android...

*edit*
I've figured it out. This thread can be closed.
What was the point of deleting your post? I hate when people do that. What if your question and subesquent discovery of the answer helps someone with the same question? Deleting your question doesn't take it off the thread, just let the original content slowly fade off into the XDA abyss like the rest of them that don't get responses.
Because it was simple overlook on my part. My launcher already had the option it was worded differently than others. So yes there is a point in closing it as there was no outside solution found by me. Plus there is another thread of the same topic posted that people can look at for a solution.

Hoe about not posting a new thread in developmental, unless its related to developing the phone for the better......continuing to do so can and will results in a temp/perm ban

uh this isn't in developmental it's in Q&A.
im sending my g2 back to be replaced because the flash LED stoppped working all of a sudden, so i was wondering if someone can give me like a list of things that need to be done so tmobile doesnt know i was rooted thanks!
The first step is to search.
The second is to post in the correct thread.
I agree. This is covered on hundreds if not thousands of google search results. Googlephone=ability to search. Why do people ask questions................. wait for an answer............... when if they type the same thing in the search box built into the phone.................. they will get the same if not better and more relevant result.
Reading is fundamental and google search will lead the way

Hello all,
I am a newbie to custom ROM installation. I tried three different ROMS (MIUI Gingerbread, MIUI_au ICS and another ICS rom). All got stuck in the startup logo screen. I did evertyhing according to the book. Any ideas?
Cheers
This post just about sums up the way XDA is going these days...

is that because I am in the wrong thread or because I am a newbie?
Why? Because you've supplied no real info about your phone or what you've tried doing etc. You've basically said "I tried to flash a ROM and it didn't work. Any idea why?". Not very informative is it?
And it's besides the point anyway. There are literally loads of guides about to help you (Bortak's being a good start). All you need to do is "search".

The forum rules require to use search. This has been asked and answered many times.
Also there is a big troubleshooting sticky thread in the QA section and yep, its in the wrong section, should be in the QA section.

Sure. You are right about the 'no real info' warning. I had to provide it - no questions about that.
Regarding your 'search' comments, I am not a newbie to the 'internet' or 'search'ing. Before I try to login and post a question to any forum I try to make sure I could not find someone else experience the exact problem and a solution for it.
Anyway sorry for wasting your time guys. This thread can be deleted by the mods.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions &
Read the Forum Rules Ref Posting
Moving to Q&A
Given the info it can be anything, but in my short experience, when stuck in boot, a full wipe and re-download of the ROM has usually helped..

How much time did you wait ? First time, some roms take some time. Some patience is required first time.
Does anyone know please comment

I would like to be the first to say thank you for starting another thread on this topic.
Cheers.
Pretty sure you need to download and install an RUU release.

Why on earth do people like you get so hung up about somebody asking a question? Isn't that what forums are intended for? I get terrified to ask a question anymore on busy forums because of the "USE SEARCH" brigade, appreciate there's probably been a lot of threads about it but not everybody has the time to read through page after page after page. Don't read the topic if it's something that's obviously been asked before seeing as it clearly offends you so much.
It's just not good for a forum if it gets spammed with the same question only because the people are too lazy to search.

^^What he said^^
It doesn't "offend" me at all. Read the Forum rules! The whole idea of the Search button is to keep topics neatly ordered, so we don't all have to wade through page after page of repeat questions to find the info we are looking for. Which, as you yourself mentioned, not everyone has the time to do.
It took me all of twenty seconds to find the link I posted above. It wasn't hard, I just searched "unroot Desire" and there it was, first on the list. It would have taken the OP twice as long to create ANOTHER thread on this topic as it did for me to search.
I searched around and couldnt find anything on google wallet working with different roms... Was wondering if anyone knew if the google wallet fix will work with PAC-man rom...Its 4.2.2 and the rom its self changed the build prop to GT-N7105...Im a newb first post dont have enough posts for the dev forum... Dont torch me too bad!
I don't know... but then again I didn't search either.

1. Go to Google.com
2. Search "Google Wallet on Note 2"
3. Click an acceptable link to make it work
3. STOP POSTING REPEATED THREADS THAT CAN BE ANSWERED WITH A SIMPLE GOOGLE SEARCH!
4. Have a good day.
Hey will you do me a favor? Go to google.com type in google wallet note 2 and reply back... Lets see what you find buddy...you find me a thread with a answer to my exact question if not try and keep your fingers still...no need for that...how about help instead of acting like an idiot....is that not what this "community" is for asking questions, helping people, and sharing ideas...

https://www.google.com/search?q=Goo...ls=com.microsoft:en-US:IE-ContextMenu&ie=&oe=
and NO, this is a DEVELOPER FORUM. NOT a "Help me I am a nOOb forum..
Ok so you typed it in...cool man now open your eyes and read! Find an answer to my question... go 3 pages in and there are like 3 links relating to Att variant...most of them point back to a xda thread that says DO NOT USE ON 4.1... well my question was for 4.2...been on this forum a year reading and finding things on my first time I post something and ask a questions I get blasted...if its not a valid question thread have it deleted or just move on...I have changed builds anyway so not needed anymore...thanks guys for the support...
