I would like to be the first to say thank you for starting another thread on this topic.
Cheers.

Pretty sure you need to download and install an RUU release.

SLCD or Amoled screen?

Seriously...as has been mentioned a million and two times...USE SEARCH! It's a little button at the top of this page...see it? I just tried it and it does still work.

Why on earth do people like you get so hung up about somebody asking a question? Isn't that what forums are intended for? I get terrified to ask a question anymore on busy forums because of the "USE SEARCH" brigade, appreciate there's probably been a lot of threads about it but not everybody has the time to read through page after page after page. Don't read the topic if it's something that's obviously been asked before seeing as it clearly offends you so much.

It's just not good for a forum if it gets spammed with the same question only because the people are too lazy to search.

^^What he said^^
It doesn't "offend" me at all. Read the Forum rules! The whole idea of the Search button is to keep topics neatly ordered, so we don't all have to wade through page after page of repeat questions to find the info we are looking for. Which, as you yourself mentioned, not everyone has the time to do.
It took me all of twenty seconds to find the link I posted above. It wasn't hard, I just searched "unroot Desire" and there it was, first on the list. It would have taken the OP twice as long to create ANOTHER thread on this topic as it did for me to search.

Goodness I know people should search, but why be an ASS to a person just asking something. No wonder this forum is so childish.
because people are lazy. for the most part they just want it handed to them. (give a man a fish vs teach a man to fish thing)
thanks for the information....
I am really new to this comunity forums, so what type of donation should i send to help out ther group?

There is no official Froyo for our Epics, however there are several roms running the Froyo leak a.k.a. DK28.
First of all. Are you rooted?
PLEASE NOTE Post this type of questions in General section of the forums. This section is for development purposes only.
BTW. You will get more answers in that section, General
Thanks

You don't have to donate if you don't want. Just read read read read read and read. Then read some more. Play around a bit and don't be afraid to ask questions– just be sure to ask in General, or preferably the Q&A forum. If you get stuck, there are plenty of people who are more than willing to help, just make sure to try and help yourself first. Oh, and be sure to read.
Yes I am rooted, using Terminal Emulator Pro and Superuser

You should be glad someone hear tried to help you out. As far as I'm concerned people like you should be banned for a day every time they post in the wrong section or ask a question that has obviously already been answered in another thread! Do yourself a favor and read the rules and use the search button! Yes I know you have been told this but it seems like you need it drilled in your head.

You obviously aren't a noob but it seems like you don't frequent these forums much because if you did you would understand how sick and tired we are of this bull****! None of the new members take the time to read the forum rules, wikis or even have the common sense to just search. So if your wondering why he gets flamed then there is your answer straight from my childish mouth!
Donate your time. Start in the sticky, move on to the search. There is a library in front of you if you only look.

If you set on donating money you can donate it directly to xda itself to help keep this sure up and running

so then lets make him feel like **** and he may never get on another forum , wow dude cmon.
for all we know this mighrt be his first time being on a forum , i dont know . i just see giving him a hard time the wrong way to do it. you could have said hey it may help if you search . instead of name calling belittling.
just my 2 cents
people dont understand a basic thing.. the info on the forums most of the times is outdated and no one will know for sure until they try it out ... and for a noob .. its really scary to go ahead and give a try without knowing for sure if its perfectly accurate wht s/he is doing.. for eg i came accross a forum to root android device by downgrading to 2.0 which i highly doubt if would even work now.

[Q] can't find tutorial on how to root DHD

basically I'm trying to track down the quickest and easiest way to root my DHD. It's on bootloader .85.0019. I've tried searching on xda but had no luck. I'm new to rooting so go easy with the abbreviations

Where are these people coming from? What's so hard today that people can't use the search function? Typed root in the search box and here's what I got:

Look yea mate don't talk about me as if I'm an invalid, I just couldn't find one on this xda app. Wasn't asking for a sarky answer just a plain n simple one would of sufficed. Cheers for the link.

No offense, but this was quite an unnecessary thread. If everyone would think as you, there would be tons of threads like this one when people won't bother to search. If you can't get to a computer at the moment to make a proper search then wait 'til you have access to one. I'm just trying to help and keep this forum clean from filling up with threads that could be avoided if people weren't to lazy to use the search function. This also helps people to get solutions to real problems when they don't have to crawl through tons of pointless threads.
You're lucky he even responded.
There are alot of questions here anyway, and people who are too lazy to do a few searches don't deserve an anwser.
I'd bet if you searched the Q&A subforums you'd find a million topics like yours already.
Good luck rooting ...
Yea true I can imagine, but the search on the xda app ain't so advanced unless I missed something. I am lazy I suppose I could of just jumped on my pc but I'm still getting used to my DHD . Cheers.

No offence taken but I do see your point, the only reason I'm being lazy is because I'm getting used to the DHD but ill take that into consideration n keep my pointless laziness to a minimum n keep the forum clean

[Q] Revert to old Firmware

I can't root my EVO 4G phone because the firmware is too new! any idea??
Yeah, do a search. Kthanks. Nobody can root 2.3.3 yet, and it is not possible to downgrade, just be patient
Wow a question in the development section....who wouldve thunk it....
When a FIRST POST goes RIGHT INTO the wrong thread. lol. wow! worst of all, the guy didn't even READ ONE PINNED THREAD. however, asking him/her to search is stupid guys. your search feature DOES NOT WORK. Needs redesigned! I tried to use it today. it's too hard. lol. there is NO easy way to direct it to evo's only.
This is just getting so old though

Okay, I guess I'll be the first one to enable someone who didn't realize a quick search on the web would be faster than joining XDA and posting an idiotic question regardless of what section it was posted.

You literally skipped right over this, it's on the first page of the forum. You wanna root your Evo? Donate to some of these people hard at work finding a solution. And before you ask about the youtube videos saying there's a method, it's a method that only works if you've previously rooted your phone and then unrooted for whatever reason.
*sigh* Read the damn thread that says READ FIRST so you don't get such hateful responses in the future
What is this "search" you guys speak of? Lol

Yes there is, I search the EVO dev and theme section quite often if I have a question, simply enter the section. And click on the search tab at the top, hell you can search a specific thread by going into it and using the same search tab. Anybody with a quarter of a clue and a couple minutes of forum time in their life can figure that out.

[Bug] Need help: Custom button [:.2] is not getting saved

Hey Guys,
Because the people that have experience with what im looking for, are here. Im posting this here. Excuse me if this is not the appropriate place.
It's probably a small thing. But I've googled and googled.. but nobody seems to have posted this.
One of the customizable buttons in Virtuous Unity 2.37 is not working.
[:.1] works just fine, [:.2] forgets its function after some tasks, but its sertain the setting is gone after a reboot. It does ask for a program to bind to the key.. but the setting does not 'stick'. Anyhow, this shows the Keymap is working. I dont know how HTC saves it after that.. or where!
I am looking for a solution, does anyone know how to make it so that this buttons is usable again? I recon its like addon 1 line to a file.. since [:.1] works fine:/
ty for your time.

Virtuous also have a bug tracker, don't have the address with me at the moment though.
Should probably check that, no doubt it will have been posted a couple of times.
You could even go visit their irc channel, #virtuousrom on freenode.

[Q] ROM installation

I am a newbie to custom ROM installation. I tried three different ROMS (MIUI Gingerbread, MIUI_au ICS and another ICS rom). All got stuck in the startup logo screen. I did evertyhing according to the book. Any ideas?

is that because I am in the wrong thread or because I am a newbie?
Why? Because you've supplied no real info about your phone or what you've tried doing etc. You've basically said "I tried to flash a ROM and it didn't work. Any idea why?". Not very informative is it?
And it's besides the point anyway. There are literally loads of guides about to help you (Bortak's being a good start). All you need to do is "search".

The forum rules require to use search. This has been asked and answered many times.
Also there is a big troubleshooting sticky thread in the QA section and yep, its in the wrong section, should be in the QA section.

Sure. You are right about the 'no real info' warning. I had to provide it - no questions about that.
Regarding your 'search' comments, I am not a newbie to the 'internet' or 'search'ing. Before I try to login and post a question to any forum I try to make sure I could not find someone else experience the exact problem and a solution for it.
Anyway sorry for wasting your time guys. This thread can be deleted by the mods.
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions &
Read the Forum Rules Ref Posting
Moving to Q&A
Given the info it can be anything, but in my short experience, when stuck in boot, a full wipe and re-download of the ROM has usually helped..

How much time did you wait ? First time, some roms take some time. Some patience is required first time.
