[Q] volume shatter - HTC One X

is it possible to make a mod to make the volume up button work as a shutter for the camera ? no dev has done it , is it not possible ?

Probably not until the kernel source is released
Edit: am I in the right one x forums?

It is possible to do, but I believe it would require a mod to the stock sense camera app.

[Q] Port HDR Support

Just saw this on my tweets. Anyone think it would be possible to port to a Desire ROM?
http://www.talkandroid.com/48079-synergy-rom-updated-to-rc2/?utm_source=AndroidDigest&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+AndroidNewsGoogleAndroidForums+%28Android+News%2C+Rumours%2C+and+Updates%29
Look, kids! This question IS valid for ROM development. But it still doesn't belong here...
What's so special about it?

Seems like an pseudo HDR mode has been added to the camera app.

[Q] Rom that can use led with button

hi fellows ,
I was wondering if there is such rom or such possiblity to use Htc Desire flashlight via button such as trackpad button when screen is locked ???
that would be very handy like e71
Whats wrong with assigning it on one of the lockscreen app on Sense v3 or v3.5? Isn't that not handy enough?
via xda app

I think the MIUI ROMs can do this?

Holding the home button on the desire hd while on lock screen works in cm7 and ICS. Maybe worth trying the desire version of cyanogen.

Yes it can be assigned in Cyanogenmod's option. But can you do it without unlocking the phone?
Only workaround is to assign the app to the lockscreen. And both Sense v3+ and Cyanogenmod can do this.

[REQ] HTC One x camera

i Would love the features of the one x being able to take still shots while recording, i thinking that because the two phones have the same cam res it might be possible to port the cam over or at least the feature thanks
+1, and is there a port for the HTC one x beats compatible with the team chopsticks cm9 alpha 5 rom?
I think there are hardware limitations.
jgbenito, the harware limitations would not matter for the beats, correct?
I dont think so. I just read that the camera on the one x is different than ours so we wouldnt be able to get all of its features. As for the beats, im not sure if the beats in the one x are different than the beats mod found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1645919
i know it has a few differences in the hardware of the cam that effects picture quality but is it still not possible to get video and picture capture ability without that hardware?
I'd just be happy with a ported tw Samsung camera to aosp

I used a simple workaround for that. I shot an HD video, and during playback I would hit pause at a certain point and take a screenshot. Here's an example

[Q] Remapping the Volume Up key to be a camera shutter button?

Just like the title says, I wonder if it would be possible to map the volume up key as the camera shutter button. It would make life so much easier for everyone. It doesn't have to be for the Sense camera app, I use CM10 personally and I think that it would be easier to do so on a senseless ROM, but I'm not entirely sure about anything, not even how possible or impossible that would be. So what do you think, is it doable?
PS: I did some research and a thread about this was started a while ago, but it never got anywhere since it was posted in the Themes & Apps section.

go to the andeoid development section, not the original one. there is a mod u can install on any sense rom for that added option of using volume up,AND it improves ur picture and recording quality, double win

Thank you for that info, really appreciate it it somehow managed to slip by me I guess. But I won't be trying it yet because I'm on CM10. Nothing similar has been done for senseless ROMs, right?

A Good Camera App

Hey guys,
So as you probably know, Sense has one of the best camera apps known to mankind, but I'm running CM10 at the moment, so no sense camera due an AOSP framework. So people, let me know, are there any good camera replacements for the AOSP camera app? Preferably ones that allow you to view in full screen (like sense), and yeah, it must be free, and must not take long to launch, like apps like "camera."
Filters and effects are preferred, but not necessary, really appreciate it, thanks

I use camera360, I have set the resolution to second last option in the app which clicks full screen 16:9 pics. You can apply many filters and frames too. I cannot let sense camera stop me from being experiencing the awesomeness and speed of jellybean

Ok, camera 360 is good, but has a splash screen. The fx camera is epic, and has no splash screen, but doesn't record video, like camera360,and has an annoying screen at startup, can't we get rid of it? Thanks

The splash screen is no harm actually. For quick shots you can launch default camera.

Camera 360 is good when you're on an AOSP ROM.
I shifted back to MIUI yesterday and immediately went to install the mod for the Sense Camera. Higher bitrate for video recording and picture taking.

That cam is sense camera only, miui jb builds do not have such mod and this discussion is to find out an alternative for the camera app in cm9/cm10 based roms

Try that, its an "improved" version of the stock ICS camera?
If you liked the stock camera, could be good?
