[Q] Possible to get 32GB GSM version? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

My next phone will be a Galaxy Nexus...but I'd really like to get the 32GB GSM version rather than the 16GB version Google sells. I'm looking to jumping off my contract at Sprint and going prepaid only. Having that extra space will reduce the amount of data I have to use...so it would be helpful.
So as far as I can tell Verizon and Sprint arranged to nix the 32GB version (my theory) of the GSM GNex...so Google is only selling 16GB GSM Gnex's in the US (or will be selling once they change it to accommodate the injunction).
Google gave away 32GB GSM phones at Google I/O this year...so clearly they are being made. Saw one being sold on eBay a couple days ago.
I've found some references to them being sold overseas. Is that the only way to get a 32GB version for someone in the US...to import one? If so, then does anyone have a recommendation on who to import one from?
Also are there any issues with using an international gsm version in the US?
I appreciate any help you can provide with this.

They aren't currently in production, Google had them ordered from a while ago. Probably from the '11 holidays when they gave them to staff.
eBay would be the best bet in my opinion, but just know you will be paying a lot more for only 16GB extra, and because they are just so hard to find.
As far as I know a GSM phone is a GSM phone, you have the choice of AT&T or T-Mobile for towers and it should work just fine.
Hope this helps!

Crap...I figured it was just a US thing...with the typical Carrier antics that go on here. So it's not even available overseas? Sprint and Verizon are the only carriers that have 32GB versions? GSM gets screwed?
I don't mind paying a bit more to get the 32GB version...the google i/o one I saw on eBay went for just over $400 in the auction (yeah that kind of surprised me...expected at least $500 or $600). So I guess I just need to keep an eye out and hope I get lucky.

[Q] Any news/rumors/info on the sim-free Galaxy Nexus 32GB?

So far I've only been hearing about the 16GB unlocked version, or vague rumors about the 32GB Verizon LTE version.. but absolutely nothing on the 32GB unlocked one! Not even rumors or questions, I find that pretty strange. For a phone that takes videos in 1080p and is expected to hold 720p movies for playing, 13GB is very limited.. I need the 32GB Nexus NAO!!!
Theres no new info on the GSM 32gb model. People are still waiting (semi) patiently.
I was going to wait for that too until I decided that the risk of it never being released at all was too high.

There's no evidence that a 32GB GSM model even exists.

That would make no sense from Google/Samsung.. why alienate all non-verizon and international customers from 32GB goodness?
That and the official Google page lists the SGN as 32GB with no mention of 16GB http://www.google.com/nexus/#/tech-specs

That page also doesn't make any mention of a GSM model.
Thats the LTE version.
Google UK only lists a 16GB and Samsung Nordic stated they wont bring out a 32GB version in scandinavia.
Sounds to me they wont make a 32GB GSM version at all.

Damn.. missed that! I'm so depressed
No.
It is my idea...in Italy LTE is expected in 2012, the same will be in other european countries. I think Google and Samsung are marketing the 16Gb GSM now and they will upgrade it with a 32Gb LTE model once LTE is available in our countries.
What do you think? Are you going to wait?
typical marketing strategy, sell out the low end stuff first, then push out a slightly better version as an "upgrade"
My theory is that Samsung has no intention to make a 32GB Galaxy Nexus of any kind. All they wanted to do is make a 16GB version. However, Verizon will not sell a 16GB Galaxy Nexus, because all their high-end LTE phones come with at least 32GB of memory (whether built-in or through a combination of build-in memory and microSD in-box). So if the Verizon Galaxy Nexus only has 16GB build-in memory and no microSD expansion, Verizon will be forced to sell it for cheaper than all their other high-end LTE phones, because otherwise customers might look at how it has half the memory of other phones at the same price point and not choose it. So in order for Verizon to sell the Galaxy Nexus at $299/$649 like their other high end LTE phones, they had to get a 32GB version. So Samsung made a 32GB CDMA/LTE version at Verizon's behest. But they have no reason to make a 32GB GSM version.
that's a sound theory, it makes sense from the marketing point of view
How much space are 1080p recorded videos alone going to take? Not counting all the HD content you would want to watch on that nice 720p screen, this is going to make for a seriously limited experience. This means for average sized high def movies (3-4 GB) you'd be able to carry around a whopping 2 to 3 movies!
And by the time an "upgraded" version comes in the form of a 32GB GSM Nexus, it will already be time for the SGS3. I just don't understand why Google would shoot themselves in the foot like that.
edit: nevermind, miss read
That's a deal breaker for me . I was really looking forward to this phone. But only 16GB? WTF? With music, videos, navigation maps, etc. that's not enough space for me.
I 've seen the 32GB version listed in a Greek website many days ago ( link ) , priced only 50 euros more than the 16gb one. If thats the case, no doubt i 'll be getting the 32gb one.
I was really wondering how they managed to get that device, since i haven't seen it listed, or priced, at other online stores. Anyway, i 'll call them and see what they have to say.
Edit: Mumbo Jumbo Gibberish. They told me to call them back in 10 days (thats when they say they will get the phone) if i wanted more info.

They also have it listed on Expansys, I'm not sure if that means they're expecting it or if some kind of marketing ploy..
It doesn't mean anything, except that Expansys want to secure preorders and have marketing hype. Clove have already confirmed there won't be a 32GB version but Clove have been wrong about things before...

[Q] Where to buy unlocked HTC OneX?

Any thoughts where I could buy a new unlocked HTC OneX?
I saw that I could buy no-contract at AT&T for $499 but I wanted to know if there are any better options for a new OneX from a reliable source?
(Excluding eBay or other similar auction sites).
Thanks!
I'd check Amazon, eBay, and Misco to see if they're any good for you mate
Handtec They offer fast intenational delivery.
You might want to figure out if you want Evita (AT&T version, dual core snapdragon) or Endeavoru (quad core Tegra 3, which is what this forum is for)
Thanks for the replies. Basically, I have a cousin coming to visit from the middle east who wanted to purchase the phone here because handsets are way more expensive in his country. I don't think he'd have much of a preference regarding the sub-model since all phones have the major 2G and 3G frequencies nowadays. Personally, I use a Galaxy S3 but he wanted the HTC OneX.
Was looking for something along the lines of NewEgg, etc. but they are sold out and I'd rather not order from a European website. Figure I'll probably just end up grabbing one from AT&T store unless anyone else has other thoughts.
Thanks!
Are you looking for a NIB, unopened or would a used one do?

[Q] Will US Bought 7105 work in UK?

I'm going to be in the US early Jan, and was looking at buying the GT-7105 LTE Note 2 from there, SIM Free.
But, I need to know for sure that if I do that, then it'll work with a 4G SIM from EE in the UK. EE currently is offering SIM only 12 month deals.
If someone can confirm this, then it'll be a great help.
If it's actually an N7105, and not a US carrier-branded model, it'll be fine, but I can't imagine you could get one cheaper than in the UK - the N7105 isn't sold at US retail (T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint & friends all have their own variants that would not suit your needs, and in the case of the latter two, would not work at all).

Hmm, that's what I was worrying about.
In the past, I've generally managed to get electronic items much cheaper in the US, and I keep travelling there.
But, I guess in this case, there's too much grey, and I might end up with a costly device that may not work in the UK ..
I want to get my hands on the Note II LTE (7105) but it's priced ridiculous here in the UK, and so are the EE plans ..
So, I was thinking of buying the phone SIM free, and then taking the 12 month SIM only from EE
the N7105 was on a special discount with EE this weekend, so no doubt it will be again.
The Note2 has fallen surprisingly quickly from its introductory price. I think the Note1 was an unexpected success so Samsung didn't make large numbers of them so supply wasn't so strong, but they had more confidence in the Note2 being popular and there's more stock and more competition in the marketplace.

Damn, missed that offer. What was the discounted offer from EE?
The 7105 was (evidently) sold at 20% discount for a couple of days before xmas along with all payg phones at EE stores at £409 originally £509 BUT... its sketchy info & the majority of stores said they didn't have it on offer.
The 7105 has the UK LTE bands & although is not a USA phone theres no probs buying it in USA for UK use, also its available online at £445 +post from Negrielectronics (a company based in USA) & they post to UK.
There's also currently a ebay seller in USA selling 7105 & posts to UK.
Not sure if the saving is worth the risk of not getting service of a "grey" import though if it developed a fault.
I found the link for nergri ...
http://negrielectronics.com/samsung...-16gb-unlocked-marble-white.html#.UOKxPP4YZaF
I bought the N7105 from ee on pay then gave the sim to a friend and unlocked the phone to use with three so no reason you couldn't buy on payg and give sim away and get sim only contract.
I've found three speeds are pretty similar to ee in 4G areas so prefer the better bundles of data they offer.

Several KEY Qs about which SM-Pxxx to buy...

currently saving up.. if fate allows i plan on getting a SGN 10.1-2014ed to replace my twice dying Kocaso M870.
over the past 3 months ive done quite a bit of research through mags and android sites claiming this to be the best tablet around especially in terms of functionality.
several minor reviews and 2 hour long reviews posted on youtube with the earlier information has convinced me this is the direction i want to go.
im a gamer.. artist.. and one heck of a multi tasker that hopes to become a dedicated streamer in the future... this tab will help with all these things.
my key issues is what model of the SM-Pxxx series to get...
Firstly.. im located in the US.. and will only buy from certified reliable retailers.
this means amazon and ebvay and thier china hackware and voided warrentys are totally out of the question.
Im as of current.. stuck with best buy and thier 50$ off sale of the SM-P600 32gb-black..
16gb is a joke being the OS itself takes up 8 gigs...
i looked into the 64gb version.. but simply put.. it dont exsist.
3g.. and lte versions.. dont exsist.
before being flamed.. please hear me out.
according to samsung.. LTE ONLY comes in 32 and 64gbs models.. yet ALL the amazon LTE models are 16gb..
even the description on the amazon sales page STATES the device has been opened and modified.
and most importantly.. youtube videos of the so called LTE versions are A) all in german..
B) ALL have thier "unboxing" comming from an unsealed box... C) all having 16 gb-wifi listed on the front of the box AND the screen protector.. D) the screen protector has NO mention of 3G or LTE while the back of the box mentions LTE at the side of the list.
simply put.. these LTE versions are NOT the real deal. its a china sweatshop gettingthe cheapest 16gb model.. cracking the tablet open.. thus voiding its warrenty.. and adding a LTE antenna from some cheap cellphone... so they can sell a 550$ tablet for 800$... huge profit.
And its a mess i intend to avoid.
And from what ive seen.. the 3G model has only recently been leaked that vorizon will be its carrier.. and any "news" of the LTE version.. or the release date for EITHER version is simply non exsistant through official channels.
all this in mind..
Doi keep saving for the SM-P600 and be happy wiht a legit tablet..
Do i wait and hope that the 601 or 605 release in the near future before this dying tablet stops booting up...
and if i wait.. being i cant afford the cell phone bill as i never call ANYONE.. what would the 601-605 offer me that the 600 series dont already offer save a slightly faster processor?

This might be simpler than you think. The only device authorized to be sold by Samsung in the U.S. is the P-600. Anyone selling a P-601/5 has imported it and it comes with no warranty from Samsung as it's considered grey market. I have a P-601 I got from Negri and it's from Trinidad. Knowing it has no warranty I insured it through SquareTrade. That's an option for you too if you buy from someone like Expansys, Negri, or NewEgg. You can get SquareTrade on eBay items too if you do it at check-out. But if you're looking for warranty support from Samsung your only choice is buying a P-600 from an authorized Samsung reseller. VZW's releasing their version of the P-605 (LTE) soon but it'll cost you an arm and a leg. If you weren't aware, the imported P-605's don't support the U.S. LTE bands so you'll be stuck using HSPA. And both it and the P-601 work fine on AT&T but only work on T-Mobile in markets they've re-farmed to 1,900MHz. I get about 5-8MB download speeds using my P-601 on AT&T.
I have the Verizon 4G LTE model SM-P605V. Thinking that it will make phone calls, turns out it doesn't. LTE is fast however, just pop a 4G sim card in.

The P605 does exist in 16gb. It can be purchased in a number of reputable chain stores both here in new Zealand and also in Australia. It's likely an Asia Pacific only model though as we are part of that region.
