Hi, after installing CoreDroid ROM, I wanted to change boot and down animation to stock version, so I extracted needed files from backup ("bootanimation.zip" and "downanimation.zip"), opened Root Explorer, turned on R/W mode, and replaced that files in "data\local" folder. Now, boot animation works, but down animation doesn't (as said in title).
I don't know what's problem, can someone help me? Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I have solved problem - I followed this tutorial and copied file via ADB: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=942976

So I've been making attempts at replacing my shutdown animation (on Evil's Sense G2-Z ROM), but have been having troubles.
I've created a shutdown animation at the same resolution as the original, and put that into a downanimation.zip with folder "android" and desc.txt, which sets the parameters for the shutdown animation (the downanimation.zip goes into /system/customize/resource). The desc.txt is the exact same as that in the original downanimation.zip. As far as I can tell, the only differences between my downanimation.zip and the original is file size (their images are very plain, whereas mine are a bit more detailed) and the timestamp.
Now here's where it gets really quite weird. If I edit one image and replace it from the original shutdown animation, it stops working. Which made me think that there's something messed up with how I'm zipping my files. BUT if I change the name of my downanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip (in the same folder as downanimation.zip), and reboot my phone, my shutdown animation works just fine as the startup animation.
So. Anyone have any ideas how to change the shutdown animation, or on what I'm doing wrong?
What are you using to zip the files?

Yemuzip on OS X.
have you found a solution yet?
ive done the same thing, encountered a weird problem tho.
it only accepts a zip which is set to store not compressed for boot but shutdown none works.. i wonder if it is the file size that is the issue or something else.
if i changed the shutdown/downanimation i cannot boot into bootloader "pwr+vol down" on desire HD. have to boot to clockwork and adb shell rm /system/customize/resources/shutdown.zip/downanimation.zip and then it can boot into bootloader again but shutdown/restart screen would be blank.. weird.

Yes all guides I've seen say that the bootanimation.zip on the Desire HD (/data/local/) needs to be zipped without compression (using "store" method of compression). I would assume it's safe to do the same thing for the shutdown animation. Thanks for the folder where the shutdown animations are stored on the Desire HD. I was having a little trouble finding it as it's different from other android phones. Just a spelling error though, it's /system/customize/resource/ not "resources"
SOLVED here. Tq.
Hey all,
So I tried adding a custom boot animation to my phone, and now all I get is a black screen with the stock sound playing.
Basically what I've done was:
Rooted my device using Super SU
Installed Busy Box
(Copied to my external sd card: bootsamsung.qmg bootsamsungloop.qmg)
Did this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2063280
And that's when things went wrong.
I believe, (based off the files used in the tutorial), that the problem may be in/with the following:
/system/bin/bootanimation (exe)
or
/system/bin/samsungani (exe)
or
/system/bin/sh (text file)
I've tried adding the original .qmg files back but it hasn't worked.
I'd like to end up with a custom animation, but at this point I'll be happy with any animation.
Any help would be amazing.

logo.jpg draw failed
Thanks for the tutorial! I'm pretty sure I'm the one doing something wrong but I can't figure out what.
I was able to flash the param file, both the cwm way and through odin which resulted in "logo.jpg draw fail.." so that part works, but adding my image doesn't work. I've tried several different images, including yours and changed the permissions accordingly but it just doesn't seem to take it. It boots fine though. I've done this before, about a year ago and it worked fine then so I'm wondering if it has to do with my partitioning or that I've updated to marshmallow recently (the battery charging animation changed after upgrade, did something else change too perhaps? Does this tutorial not work any more after update?)
Anyway, if you have any tips, I'd appreciate it.
is this applicable to Marshmallow (CM13)?
@alexbokor40, same issue with @luvis, after flashing the zip, able to get the "logo.jpg fail" but after copying the logo.jpg to the .lfs folder, set the right permissions and reboot, nothing happens. i'm on CM13 official and also has custom pit. I also notice when i open the .lfs folder in root explorer, i can't see the other files inside of it. last time when i was on 4.1.2, i able to see the other files.
any tips will be highly appreciated mate.
It is called bootlogo
It doesn't work on android 7.0 nougat. I didn't find nay file at /mnt/.lfs/
And i didn't get the green message "logo.jpg draw fail" after flashing via twrp 3.0.2
Do you have another method?
is there a way to do that through build.prop? has anyone tried? the param.ls way here seems to fail. in my s2 with cm 13 the bootlogo is not removed, flashing with odin.
Hello,
I wiped the bootanimation.bin file located in system/bin directory by mistake. I was trying to get rid of a boot animation which i was unable to change. Now i have a blank screen during boot, but the phone works.
So, I'm here to ask, if anybody running CM13 on GT-I9195 could provide me with his bootanimation.bin file, or help me search for a clean one, so i could copy it to my device and get my boot animations working again. I searched the internet for that file for a long time, but i cannot find it anywhere. I would appreciate your help alot.
Thanks in advance.

Any stock Cyanogenmod 13 boot animation will do, here is the one from my phone anyhow
Sent from my Galaxy S4 Mini using XDA Labs
You could download some CM13 rom and extract the bin file for example. Or you just install the rom again or update, this would be the easiest way.
However: here you go (can't attach it for some reason)
Edit: Permissions are rwxr-xr-x iirc
I have tried so many ways to change my boot animation and nothing worked. I pasted the boot animation in system/media and that didn't work. At the moment everything seemed OK but when I reboot my boot animation is renamed to bootanimationencrypted.zip. After searching for an answer I read that with HTC I need to paste the animation in system/customize/resources but that didn't work as well. When I reboot it's like I haven't done anything the default boot animation is still there. I have tried using ES file explorer and Root Browser for this, same thing. Any help will be much appreciated, thanks.
