You can see it here after checking it out. i'm curious ... is this what comes pre-installed on our Ion's? if so... anyone thinking *esp after seeing a pic of it* that this might be why it is so infuriatingly hard to push the soft keys at the bottom of the screen.... idk... just what i was thinking when i saw this.
That's not what comes on the ion.

Good to know. Do u feel like putting this overtop would be overkill? Or make the buttons harder to press? I'm only considering it BC of the anti glare and anti smudge. ... please if anyone tries this out report your findings.

If those two things are important to you then I would say its worth a try. I'm fine with the way the stock screen is and don't really like the way it anti-glare screen protectors reduce the screen quality IMHO. If you do get it please post a review of it though.
I bought the screen protector from AT&T the day I bought my Ion. I applied it directly over the factory installed screen protector. At $25 it is a little pricey but I really like it. It has a matte finish that your fingers glide over very smoothly. I haven't had any problems with the soft keys on the bottom. It does slightly reduce the quality of the screen, but I like the protection that it provides.
It is much better than the orange peel effect of the Zagg Invisible Shield that I previously used on my x10. This protector is removable and washable. There is a cutout for the AT&T logo but it hides the Sony logo. I wish it was the other way around. All in all, it is a nice addition to the phone.
mind posting a couple pics with the screen protector on your phone with the screen on... trying to get an idea of what it looks like.. and i agree... big time BS it covers up sony's logo... if i were sony i'd have a bone to pick with att over that move...

Both my wife and I have the Ion and the AT&T screen protector, and about the only thing that annoys me about it is that the softkeys are difficult to engage when the phone is laying flat. There's almost no problem getting them to respond when the phone is in any other position. This may be inherent to softkeys and the screen protector is just bringing that flaw more to the surface. I do wish that Sony had stuck with the keys it had on the X10. Loved those.
Don't know I you saw but someone posted a great tip for making sure you don't have to hit any soft buttons twice. And its simple. If you slide your finger over the button instead of press on it. I put my finger on the light up line below and slide up. Like a gesture. Works great and I like the way it feels. With some practice Im able to make super fast back key presses without failure.

Crytalusion Liquid Glass is getting a lot of talk especially over seas. I will definitely try this on the ION. Sick of the curved glass and screen protector issues. The iVisor would be great if not for AG. Make a clear version Moshi.

I do this all the time. The "labs" feature in the stock browser which lets you bring up the context menus by sliding your thumb on the edge of the screen is one of my favourite things about the phone.
Haha it's so true. I recently used my Desire again (my brother is using it now, poor lad!) - it just feels wrong.
OP read in infomercial Billy Mays voice.
Another brilliant thing about the screen is that it hardly retains fingerprints. No need to use a matte screen protector imo.

GOD! This is something i am so scared offffff. I remember when i brought my galaxy s when it was considered one of the better ones, i dropped it in the first week a few times already. My HTC One X i'm taking care of it like it were a device that's pumping blood into my veins. I've taken good care of it so far, at least when it comes to being dropped. But accidents happen, so i can just try my best to avoid it. Despite having watched out very carefully, there are a few scratches that are hardly noticeable when the screen is on. But it annoys the living hell out of me. I'm going to probably buy a screen protector and a case today. The last thing i want is my so far favorite phone ever held to look like it's been worn out.

Yes, those of you who had one for your old Galaxy S2, it's now available for the Note. I consolidated a bunch of orders in my country and these will belong to a bunch of crazy cats who were willing to pay a hefty amount for this screen protector.
This protector is slightly thinner than the old 3M Estoc+ on the SGS2, but the surface is a lot slicker. Scotchtape could not even stick properly to it for me to lift it up to remove dust. The surface feels FANTASTIC! It's matte, yet it's glossy as seen in the photo. I know there are other protectors in the market, but this is still my favourite one.
No rainbow effect, glossy clarity, and matte feel, this is why this thing is the best protector IMO. You can find this protector in gmarket, go to the co.kr version and change to the English site.
http://english.gmarket.co.kr/challe...pos_class_kind=T&keyword_order=3m+estoc++note
That's the link for anyone that wants it, I certainly don't understand it too well.
I will keep my eyes for it, too. It looks really nice! Does it at all mess with the image clarity? I had those Matte screen protectors and felt great to the touch, but readability was HORRIBLE.

Most of the time the clarity is affected by the horrendous rainbow effect for the lesser matte screen protectors. The rainbow effect is nearly invisible, and I would say it's even negligible. I can't see it in a white screen, maybe some can. This is why I swear by this protector, because the screen is clear like a gloss screen protector, but has the matte feel. You can say it's like an improved and better SGIPEN Ultra Optics.
Vulpix, missed the order. Any extras?

You must've just been unlucky to be honest, my S3 ones fitted perfectly. Although I kinda wish they gave you the sides as well, they are still prone to scratches as well as the screen and back cover of the device!
Other than the black specks, which you must wash off thoroughly if you get any in your order, I can say so far mine has held up and working as well as my Skinomi did..

I agree! Just do not buy it... I bought one and I regretted
I bought these via the last thread about them a few weeks back. The cut out for the camera etc has to be the worst I have ever seen on a protector, It's not inline with anything and to steal a phrase someone else used in the thread as it explains perfectly looks lIke they where cut out by a blind sIx year old chIld. After a while the back plate protector developed a yellow tinge and looks horrible. The rest I've thrown in the bin. These are cheap in every sense of the word but also expensive for what they are even with a 80% discount. Their basically disposable protectors that will need changing regularily say every week or so if you want to keep your phone looking nice.
Not sure what you guys received, but here is a picture of my phone with the screen protector installed. It is working just as my invisishield, skinomi and shieldguard protectors have.

It's a trade off for multi layered self healing that can take the energy off a screen hit.
If there a difference in distortion or clarity when the screen is on? For what mine does, I am satisfied.

I've used many dry protectors, everyone of them has had the same result, sure they look great and clear, but they always start gather soot at the edges and start to peel. Once that event beings it doesn't end there..

finally i got my order yesterday... never been so happy.. this is actually my second order, but now its for ipad, iphone and my s2..
Bought these when they had the 80% off and they are horrible. I put them on 2 phones and promptly took them off and gave away the remaining 3. Kudos to those that like them, but to me they were cloudy and I was clearly able to tell there was a screen protector on.

I just got mine in the mail today, just wanted to show you guys how it looks.
The color is as depicted. Same issues: Buttons are so hard to press. I hope they loosen up over time.
As you can see in the picture i posted, the Camera lens does not match up perfectly with the cut out case. Although it will not be an issue to most of you, but I'm a nit-picky person. It's not that big of a deal, but still I think this is a manufacture flaw. It's unnoticeable though.
As for the screen protector, its horrible. I've had headache trying to put this on and this one is a fingerprint magnet.
Overall, good case, with high quality silicon and polycarbonate shell.
It looks ugly. Why did you even bother getting a blue one?

Interesting choice of color
It seems to add quite a bit of thickness to the phone. Could you maybe measure it?
I am looking for a case that will have good screen protection that will offer a bit of a rubber edge around the front of the screen, like it seems to show in the pictures? So if you drop the phone face down or place in on an object with the screen facing down. The screen would not be in contact with that surface.
Does this case offer that?
and thanks for the pics!
Cheers!

Yes. This case has bumps on the front that prevents the screen from getting in contact with the screen.
Also, the phone with the case on is about 0.75inch in height.
Just ordered one as well and it should be here any day now. Had the black one but got bored of it pretty quickly.
I think the blue looks nice but will have to see it on the phone.

No offense but why do people continue to purchase these Otterbox cases when there are known issues that aren't being fixed. The buttons are too hard to press and the cut-outs don't line up perfectly. I expect more from a case that costs more than $30. Not to mention, these cases don't look any where near as good as the ones they make for the iPhone. Also, most of the color combos are damn ugly.

The black one I have has no alignment issues. I do agree that the buttons are hard to press at first but they do get much better after a week or so. Actually like the fact that the buttons are not so easy to press, it was so annoying when watching YouTube and accidentally turn the screen off.
Not sure about the color combos vs iPhone, I think most are nice except for the green and purple ones.

Also, iPhone had been around for almost 3 years while S3 just came out so a little unfair to say they have ugly colors. I'm sure more colors will be available in the future.

Also, most of the color combos are damn ugly.

alignment issues arent a problem
and as for the buttons i'm sure they'll easen up after some use
i love otterbox cases. i have them since DHD, Incredible S, Sensation XE and now with Galaxy S III.
with regards to buttons being hard to press it's relative. although i did experience it was easier with my Incredible S and Sensation XE, but i have no complaints (major) on my SGS3
btw i hate the color blue and black otterbox commuter case specially on a white SGS3

Yes, I personally would not go for the black or blue on a white S3 since they have a nice white/Grey case that would look much nicer. I choose the blue becuase I think it would look good on my blue S3. I do wish the back had a bit more texture for grip but it'll be protected if it slips out of your hands.

I've had my Otterbox Commuter for almost a month. When I first put it on, the camera didn't line up so I played around with the silicone part and it lined up. The buttons, in my experience anyway, don't get easier to press. You do get used to pressing a little harder though.
While I feel like my Commuter offers good enough protection, I think I'll wind up getting a Defender. The Commuter is just too thin. In my line of work I need something that, if I fall on it or if it gets knocked off of the counters, it won't be damaged. My previous $3 case offered extreme protection with a kickstand.

Sorry but that is a bad color combination.

I can't seem to get the black one to line up either. And the power button gets easier to press over time (2 weeks for me), or I just got used to it. My biggest complaint is the home button is annoying to press with one hand and sometimes even with two. If I'm not mistaken, the Seidio cases follow the outline of the home button, making it easier to press.

Dean you better come this friday.
i'm not a big fan of the blue otterbox nightsky... this is the case i have(with my white gs3). It looks pretty nice.. Picked it up in the sprint store for a decent price compared to online.
i'd paste the image here but it's against XDA's TOS because i'm not at 10 posts yet.. apparently i'm not cool enough yet so i attatched the image here.
Grey and white ftw! :good:
I ordered the atomic case. Will post pics. Should be here today.

So my SPG GLAS came in the mail yesterday. I've had some time to fool around with it, so I thought I'd post some of my more detailed impressions as well as some pics.
The biggest surprise of the entire product was its size. The GLAS does NOT cover the entire phone, but stops short a couple of millimeters on all sides - actually, right before the screen starts curving. It does make your screen feel smaller, and does remove that wonderful edge-to-edge glass feeling, but it doesn't impair functionality.
It does fit well - all cutouts are perfectly aligned, IF you can put it on perfectly. Mine was shifted just down and to the right, which made the Samsung logo under the speaker grill look a bit odd. But the soft key backlighting did turn out - when the light is on, it's impossible to tell that it's actually coming from a layer behind the GLAS. Maybe it's because its so thin - especially of you have a case that is raised around the edges, and even if you don't, it hardly seems thicker with than without the GLAS.
And glas(s) it is. The surface feels extremely smooth and infinitely better than any wet screen protector. I don't have the Curved Crystal, so I can't compare to that, but this does feel *very* slick. But it's not perfect. If you have SHS (sweaty hands syndrome) like me you'll notice a little bit of friction increase over the original screen, but not much. Overall, it feels awesome.
And then you turn your phone on. And try to swipe to unlock, but nothing happens. Really. Touch responsiveness is noticeably decreased with the GLAS. Especially while typing. It's fine if you make a conscious effort to press a little harder, but it has almost driven me crazy when keys don't register, when it mistakes a swipe for a tap in the app drawer, or when my screen doesn't unlock. If you're a more deliberate or heavy-handed user, this probably won't affect you, but those of use who use Swiftkey like a crutch and fly through homescreens like there's no tomorrow, you might want to stick with a dry protector like the Curved Crystal.
...And here are some pics. Feel free to ask me anything, just don't expect to get answered instantly.

i think the image links are broken..
I'm not gonna lie, I loled hard.
Not to be a **** but there's already two other reviews about this. The sensitivity has been a concern but nothing is never perfect the first time. Look at the Spectre. There's a lot more complains for both the S3 version n GNex version

Also after a while there's a trick to getting along with the sensitivity issue. I really noticed it when I first got it. I barely notice it now although I make the common typing errors cuz of it. I still contacted SGP n I'll try to get a replacement. I didn't exactly align the protector right (did it the moment I woke up) n it kinda bugs me lol

Thanks for the review. I was interested in one of these types of screen protectors and your review helped me decide. Hint: I'm not getting one.

Was about to buy this, after seeing this, imma stick with my belkin anti-glare..
Of course, the ideal would be something like Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) Diamond on top of the original GG2 face. Hmmm... maybe I just invented GG3?
That would have to be the ultimate scratch resistance but would of course not help you when it comes to dropping the phone.
Having said that, there is no after market "screen protector" that will stop the glass actually breaking.
I got the SGP Ultra Crystal protectors for my gs3 and my Nexus 7 and I am very impressed. Can't even tell they are on there and they clean up amazingly hardly leaving finger prints at all...it feels like I don't even have one on. They made a glass version for the Galaxy Note 2 that is supposedly even better than the Ultra Crystal, but people are reporting it's too thick and is making the S-Pen hard to use.
I was about to buy the Zagg HD invisi-shield, well I actually did buy it at Best Buy at the recommendation of a friend, but when I got home and looked up reviews I was astonished to see it was awful, and I paid $25 for it. I then listened to everyone in the thread and got the SGP Ultra Crystal dry protectors for $13 comes with 2. I am very happy with my purchase. I just ordered one for my Note 2, bout to get one for my iPad.
