it was the GSM version.
neither the vzw or sprint ones have the JB OTA yet.
I'm curious as to who's going to get it first.
No.
And we're not sure how long Sprint will take.
But, since you're an xda member it'll be very easy for you to flash a perfectly stable 4.1 ROM.

As the title says.. not new to flashing so know what I'm doing. But out of the millions of custom ROMs which is the most stable?

Why not try stock for a while? At least so that you can have some basis for comparison...
I agree with efrant.
Update to Jelly Bean if your model came with Ice Cream Sandwich...
I'm rockin BAmF jb. Totally stable and semi- customizable. Not as much as AOKP, but I've always found quasi issues with those RomS anyway. Great ROMs. but just sayin....

Exactly. Use stock JB for a week or so before moving to something else so you can see the differences.

Not everything is always about flashing.... if you like the excitement and all the work related to flashing New kernels/Roms go ahead. If you need your phone as a daily driver, and are happy the way it performs just root to take advantage of certain capabilities through apps do that, try different launchers and skins
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Agreed with stock.
I would, however, unlock the boot loader so you don't have to lose your data when doing so at a later date.
I've been rocking aokp and cm and so far so good

Will we ever see 4.2 for our S3 in the near future.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
it's already being worked on for international version and 4.2 will bring the multitasking features from the galaxy note II
That would be awesome.

Yeah, you're misreading it,
Its 4.1.2 they're probably working on...not 4.2

We will never see 4.2 because everything that got updated would be striped from Samsung camera so on

Ok, just wondering, read an article that 4.2 was jelly bean with more features like the new camera and drop down information and so on, if we get good, if not then so be it, am happy with jelly bean.
READ, HAPPY WITH JELLY BEAN.

Yeah the only thing new is the camera and the settings short cuts ( toggles ) witch we already have. Everything else was incremental that's why its still jellybean 4.2 and not key lime pie 5.0. The app updates we should get from the market like gmail music and whatever Google apps that got updated

4.1.2 isn't even on the gnexus or nexus s yet.... MAYBE 4.1.1 release for us but that's it.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
AT&T leaked several ICS builds to the Galaxy SII Skyrocket community before finally rolling it out.
I'd be surprised to see it rolled out officially before doing something similar with the GSIII.

yes.
As for the article, I doubt that the NA SGS3's will get 4.1.2 from Samsung since they've been releasing 4.1.1 around the world.
Lol! Yes! Wrong terminology!

Not sure if this has been posted or talked about but I ran into this about a newer version of JB will be out and key lime pie may take longer.

Yup it seems real. Theories say that Google wanted to give the devs and OEM some breathing space for apps and such
Refinement of the current software is a good idea. 4.2.2 is still a bit rough compared to 4.1.2. Better features, but a bit rough.

Yeah as long as the framework isn't completely overhauled then we'll get an aosp version..
It would be nice to get a chance TW version but Samsung doesn't owe it to us.. Even if we did get it.. By the time it's released we'd be on to different phones anyways..
That doesn't mean we can't start a 4.3 thread though

T-Mobile would take months to push it anyway. I don't see why anyone would want another TW update, it might ruin how good it is now.
