Hey guys,
Is it possible to port the s3 camera for our gnex running jelly bean deodexed on rooted phone?
I would like to try out the HDR feature that comes default on s3.

Wrong section... Expect flaming and whipping...
As for your question, I guess it's possible. I mean I don't see why it wouldn't... We just need the developers' will for that.
I'd also love to see HDR and burst shot from the S3 camera ported over. Not sure about the HDR, though - maybe the GNex camera hardware is just not capable of doing that...

Q&A section dude that's what it is for

HDR from market works on gnex.
Doubt it has much to do with the hardware, rather the software.
Used HDR on the spica and took some great pictures. Once you go HDR, regular shots aren't enough
Since its in the wrong section, would a mod kindly move it to the right one.

That would be awesome if someone manages to port it , the camera on s3 looks amazing .

Burst will be nice, but not really important on a phone.
More of a marketing gimmick than a feature i say, if you want burst, DSLRs or other cameras will have burst functions.

yeah, it would be great to have a full screen camera ui, with no borders and all the buttons floating in a 1280x720 display!
the galaxy nexus can not be left behind... :fingers-crossed:
does anyone have any sort of news about this? thanks!

I might be missing something, but I fail to see how this is in the wrong section. He's asking a question about the galaxy nexus. He wants to use the camera app from a different phone but on the galaxy nexus... So it seems to me like the question and answer section for the galaxy nexus is very relevant. But I really could have missed something and I apologize if I did. :/

It was likely in the dev section before and has since been moved to Q&A.

A bajillion. Perhaps one should make a thread entitiled "SGIII TouchWiz apps update status" and then maintain it.

That's pretty mean. Also, unproductive. Also not in the spirit of Android hackery. And adds nothing to the conversation. Much like this comment.
To the OP,
No updates yet. Perhaps you can be the person to maintain this thread as updates about it come out? It would be a great service.
^ yeah that will never happen lol

I figured one of our great android devs would have it working. The rude comments remind me of iPhone owners

I agree on a thread in the themes and apps section with the updated status of these. Some YouTube videos would also be awesome for us lazy

[Req] - 2-way call recording on nexus

Hey all devs.
I've searched my a.. off to find any info on this topic for my nexus.
Would really like to know if it at all is possible to do? Had this on my htc phones and it was working perfect.

I was searching for something like this a few months ago. I was also looking for a screen recorder app. From what I can tell, the gnex does not use most of the standard ways of doing things.
Hopefully something has come out by now, or someone will be able to figure it out soon.

Ask in the q&a section next time, not the development section please. Thanks.

U are in the wrong section man. This section is only for development. The rule u have broken is like a man goes into woman washroom. Come on man, don't just barge in a room without looking at the sign of that room. The outcome will not be that easy if u do it in the real life.

CallRecorder from sklavex.
1- wrong forum section
2- 9.95$ for the app, seriously? skvalex must be crazy. I was there when it all started on the htc desire forum, it's not even his work, he just made an app back then,(althought the real dev who worked on the project had his own lil simplified app). Furthermore, it was free, then he put a small fee as a sign of support for his work and dedication, which in my opinion is ok, but 9.95$? Come on...

He also made alsa mixer. Wich is required for CallRecorder.
Basically he made call recording on the gnex possible. And before the app was cheaper $ 6.00. It is the only option when you want 2 way recording.

So I dropped my other phone

Dropped a sprint Samsung s2 . it still powers on and the buttons light yip but nothing displays on screen. Any one have any ideas how I can fix it. Or where to find the answer?

You realize this is the galaxy nexus section right?
Why wouldn't you go ask in the sprint s2 section?

Obviously you post in the forum for the device you're using regardless of the contents of the post. That's just basic etiquette.

Not necessarily. If I'm posting from a Galaxy Nexus about trouble with a custom Rom on an s2 I would post in the s2 forums

Chameleon OS

Howdy all! I been running Chameleon OS on my Galaxy Nexus and my One S for a long time now and have yet to see a thread for it here, maybe the ChaOS team needs a maintainer for it? It is a great AOSP ROM with MIUI like theme enigine, really neat. Maybe someone with skills a little beyond porting can contact them and see about taking over for the Galaxy Nexus and get it posted? I think you all will really like this ROM it is still very young but they have true nightly's so it gets better and better every day! :good: (I hope it is ok I posted this here, if not oh well this ROM needs more love!)

No I'm not blind that isn't an official development thread that is just someone posting like me, I wasn't looking for that.
I may have jumped the gun but I was simply saying when I had spoke to them they said they need a maintainer for XDA.

1. this is old news, they got the S4 Camera App ported quite awhile ago...
2. did you even watch the video yourself? one of the requirements is that we need to be on TouchWiz Android 4.2.1, which we clearly don't have...
Stop with these useless camera threads. You guys are acting like the s4 camera is top notch, just get a regular camera if you like taking pictures.

Camera threads are not useless for some of us. For myself, camera & music are the two things I look at first & foremost when looking at a rom, so they are important to me, and to others I bet. I'm also always looking for ways to better the cameras I have installed, or other tweaks & mods for pictures and music.
So camera threads are not useless. At least, not to me.
