I just wanted to let everyone know that I just got the yakjuxw 4.0.4 update ota on my stock unrooted galaxy nexus (previously 4.0.2). I have the white international version and if I'm not mistaken, am receiving updates through samsung not Google.
There is hope for those of you yakjuxw stock users!
Many people here have posted it that YAKJUXW got the update to 4.0.4..
I used YAKJUXW 4.0.2 ROM but I didn't want to wait anymore so I flashed TAKJU and then Jelly Bean 4.1 and now everything is better... I still miss YAKJUXW ICS.
Hopefully YAKJUXW gets 4.1 update soon, if not then that's cr#p..
There is already a thread for this here:

Please continue your discussion there
Thanks

I bought this phone from Finland and it's not Verizon 4G LTE phone!
If I update it to 4.0.3 then can I keep my apps and all other? (dalvik vm must cleaned..?)

(I don't want to brick that phone so that's why I am asking help..
+ why Gameloft games is not working on Galaxy Nexus? /:
and what is the best and most stable + newest kernel for Galaxy Nexus?
Thanks if someone can help me!
The latest OTA from Google on the GSM Nexus is 4.0.2, hope that helps!
If you want 4.0.3, you'll have to go the custom rom route.

Yes, it is a known fact that rooting requires you to "oem unlock" you phone... which clears all the data on the phone, including the internal storage... hope you read that before proceeding...
4.0.3 was never published as an official update...
Not everyone got/gets the 4.0.4 OTA update...
And if you have the CDMA Galaxy Nexus... all updates will come from Google by they will be co-branded by Verizon (i.e., they will have Verizon proprietary files needed for CDMA/LTE)... so you cannot get an "official" ICS update without Verizon involved...
Hi mates,
A friend of mine just acquired the GN mentioned above and haven't received the JB upgrade; he asked me to flash it to official JB, yet I haven't see any post with a especific method for that device, should I flash it with 4.0.4 yakyu and force the JB OTA?
Thanks in advance.
thats what i would do.
If you want the Jelly Bean then flash "takju" or "yakju" Jelly Bean stock ROM. (Not factory image), then flash XXLF1 radio baseband if you want and then LC03 bootloader and you have Jelly Bean, or if you want then flash yakju, takju factory image via Odin/fastboot and update itto JRO03C Jelly Bean via the OTA update...
it takes too much time to get Jelly Bean to Yakjuxw, I have Galaxy Nexus which had Yakjuxw as the original build (4.0.1 - 4.0.2) and I flashed takju Jelly Bean 4.1 and then I flashed other bootloader and radio via fastboot and now it's much better.. for my Nexus the yakju 4.0.4 drains too much the battery so that's why I use takju's Jelly Bean ROM..

Yes that's the right way to do it. Go to yakju and wait for the OTA or manually flash it if you're anxious.
Hi,
Got a Nexus from the grey market recently, and today I just learned about the different builds. I did get the OTA Jelly Bean update the moment I was on Wifi when I took it out of the box. Does this mean I have the Yakju version? Is JB out for non-yakju units already?
Did you read the stickies in this forum?
Sorry. Didnt notice it. Just read it now.
I still would like to know if JB is already available for non-Yakju units though.
Highlight with your mouse: non-yakju <-- yes this part. A search tool will pop so you get all the info you need. I worked hard to build the Search in XDA, can you please use it?

Look at the "Build in Settings->About phone. If you see only 6 characters there, you are running either a yakju or takju build. If you see more than 6 characters, then you are on a non-yakju/non-takju build.
As far as I've seen, the Jelly Bean update has only been pushed to yakju and takju builds.
When is supposed to come the automatic update for Galaxy Nexus?? In Spain? Is there a place to check it out? Still waiting
depends on what version of the firmware you are on.

If you don't have it yet, that means you're not on a takju or yakju version of the firmware. You should switch to takju now and get updates from here on out.

Hi. I recently bought a galaxy nexus. It was at Ice Cream Sandwich. It immediately updated to Jelly Bean 4.1. I expected it to update itself to 4.2 very soon. But its already been a few days and I still haven't received the update. I refreshed the System Updates many, many times, but it still says that the phone is up to date.
What do I do? Why is this happening?
Means your phone doesn't get updates from Google. Follow one of the Yakju/Takju conversion guides.

It's glad to hear we get new Gnex users
Don't worry, Gnex has official 4.2 but you have yakju so you have to manually install takju 4.2
