Hey,
I have always been using custom roms and wanted to know how it all was made and implemented.
Can anyone lead me to a tut or programs which help beginners in building roms?
I would really like to start building roms to gain knowledge of winmo.
thanks

What do i need to do to prepare for making the changes to the evo 4g drivers and kernel to make it all compatible for ICS? i know i probably won't be the FIRST one to do it, but...
I have wanted to learn how to build for a while, and apparently everyone needs this, so i figure i would learn and help everyone out as well
Hey, I know there are already a fair number of threads out there on this, but they all seem to be for "n00bs" or beginners, which I am not. I would like to write a custom ROM, including comiling the kernel and all that other jazz. I get the basics of *modifying* a ROM, but what if I want to significantly change something? And I have yet to find a tutorial on how you can compile the Android kernel for the Captivate Glide. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance!
EDIT:
I'm thinking about trying to just compiling vanilla ICS (pun intended ) so that I can get the hang of the process. Then I can do my own stuff and not be constantly worrying about bricking my phone.
I want to start to build ROMs my self. Just like from a base ROM. Where should I start? Is there some stuff I can read or watch to get me started. Any help would be much appreciated.
This is what started me down the path http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2662325
This guide is great because it's device specific and offered by the world's most popular ROM
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Build_for_e980
This would be great to familiarize yourself with the building environment. Keep in mind PA and some other ROMs love to do it their own way and are more complicated. But most ROMs are similar to CyanogenMod in my experience.
Cheers
Hey guys, I was wondering if someone could let me know what I would need to do and what I need to build an OC/UC kernel for CM13!! I Havent seen much talk about this or any devs particular interested in doing so. I can't promise anything but if someone gives me a guide I would give it ago or if anyone is interested in building then maybe we could get the ball rolling and start from here until we get stable build and create a thread in Android Development. Hope to hear from you all!!
