I am looking forward to getting a class 6 sandisk microsdhc card for my soon to be bought tablet "Iberry Auxus AX 02" I would be basically using it to carry 1080p video files and running them smoothly. will a class 6 card be sufficient or do i need to look for a class 10 transcend.
Buyer's site lists read speed of sandisk as 30 MB/s and transcend's write speed as 10 MB/s. Suggestions please !
Buy class 10!
Buy a class 10 SdCard. Expensive but good!
better go for class 10

Hi,
actually my first question is, do I need the Class 6 for my Hermes? Or do you also recommend the slower class 4 version? Because I only find 8gb microsdhc class 4 Version over the Internet...
Any ideas where to buy a class 6 modell?
ps. Shipping to germany is required for me

Why do you want an Class 6 SDHC Card? For shure not for your PPC, at least I never saw a PPC witch can use the Speed of an Class 6 Card. I got an 8 GB Class 4 microSDHC and the PPC can't use the speed, the Cardinterface is too slow. With an cardreader I can copy 4GB of data (1:1 ratio of small an big files) in about 3-4 min.
I got my 8gb microsdhc off of eBay for ~$60 shipped, thats about as cheap as you'll find them anywhere. It's a Sandisk, hopefully not bootleg, but it works so I don't really care. I only keep Podcasts and music on it, nothing of real importance, so if it fails eventually I'm only out the cash I paid.
hey you can get a 8gb sandisk on amazon for 50 bucks

So I'm looking for SD cards for my vibrant. I'm wondering if I should be shelling out 100$ for a 16 GB Class 10 card or get the class 2 32 GB for the same price. Does anyone know if the phone might somehow be limited to certain file transfer speeds when connected via USB? I do intend to use the card for video and have all my apps on it. Thoughts?
From wikipedia:
The following are the ratings of some currently available cards:
Class 2: 16 Mbit/s (2 MB/s)
Class 4: 32 Mbit/s (4 MB/s)
Class 6: 48 Mbit/s (6 MB/s)
Class 10: 80 Mbit/s (10 MB/s)

You might compromise and look for a class 6 -- i've seen a lot more class 6's than 10's so you might get a much better value from a class 6 purchase -- unless you need/want the fastest possible.
Lets just say I survived for a couple of years or whatever the time frame was running my apps off my G1 on a Class 6 card just fine.
Avatar runs fine on my SD card so I'd guess at least whatever that is if you are running video.
Thanks for the input, anyone actually have a 10 that they are using? A 6 is a viable option...

Class 4 is plenty fast. Class 10 imo for this phone is a waste of money. I got a class 4 16GB for $32.99 last weekend.
Go for a class 6, 10 is overkill and really intended for mass writes in the form of very high quality video or photos in quick succession.

i have a 32 gb class2 and it plays my 720p .mkv videos just fine
Not all micro SD cards are made the same even if they say they are a given class. Stay away from eBay there are cases where people modify the firmware of the card and you get a card that is actually smaller or slower.
The best cards are name brands like Sandisk or Lexar. Transcend is also a very good brand and the tend to mark their card such that they always meet the spec but often read at higher speeds. Kingston is the name brand card that I have seen so far, but reviews on Newegg indicate that it's R/W performance isn't class 10 (<10MB/s). Some vendors interpret the class spec such that they say cards are class X if their peak read speed is X instead of their lowest R/W speed should not go below X.
I'd recommend getting a class 6 Transcend card (lifetime warranty). The sweet spot right now is 8GB class 6 for ~$20. Their 16GB is like ~$75 on Amazon.
Class 6 is good if you plan to run apps or put extended partitions / swap on it. That is what I did with my old G1. It is also a safe bet if your planning to record at 720p.
If you just need space for playing movies and music you can go for the cheaper 32GB cards. I'd pick a class 4 to be safe if your doing HD movies.
I want to max out the memory with a 32gb SDHC. Anyone have any suggestions?
The SanDisk 32GB is very good,
it performs higher than stated with regards to class and obviously is a highly reliable make.

Another vote here for sandisk, havent actually tried their 32GB, but every other card i've had from them has been faultless.
Most important thing w.r.t. memory cards IMO, is to buy from a reliable source. Ebay is rife with fakes.
Arc can handle up to class 6?
Or i shall order a class 8 or 10.
When i bought arc i had in the case a 16gb sdhc card, but i want a faster one
someone was able to get between 6.00 to 6.79 MB/s on his Class 6 16GB MicroSD, but that was on an X10. you might get similar results on the Arc.

just got a lexar 32gb class 10 card from amazon (solutek) works great , faster than standard card supplied with arc
I guess I'll try the Sandisk, much appreciated guys. Now I just need this phone to be shipped.
I Bought a Sandisk Class 4 32GB and it works fine for me.
The data transfer to the card seems faster when I take it out of the phone.
I was thinking of getting Lexar MicroSDHC 32 GB Class 10 from amazon for my arc so anyone have it already and how is it? cus i didn't see any sandisk microsd have class 10 32Gb.
I've used the original Sandisk MicroSd 8 Gb (Class 2) and a Class 6 variant... When you copy big numbers of mp3 or movies to the phone, it really makes a difference. Example: with a Class 2 it takes about up to 1 or more hours to transfer 1 Gb - a Class 6 does the job in less then 5 minutes...! But if you want to buy a good rated SD because of the HD-camera, then Class 2 should be high enough (according to the experts). Any higher only helps if you transfer data a lot/often (like changing your musiccollection on the Arc).

btw, if anyone spots a good micro sd 16gb class 6 or higher please inform me.
I become a 16GB Class 2 Card but this card was wrong, the write speed is 3Mb/s, then I bought a new 16GB Class 10 Card. This card speed: 11.3/20.9 (write/read) the i am happy The maked HD video is better and the frame rate is really 30fps
UPDATE: The card worked much data disappeared from him then until 5 days. The next day the telephone did not see the card already though. F***ing noname card! Nobody let me not buy it trademarkless card!
ok im sorry, i just wanted to confirm something, i'm looking at a getting a new sdhc card, mine is a oem verizon sandisk 16 gb class 2. im looking into upgrading to a 32 gb. i have alota music, maps, cm rom backups etc, and im looking at moving most of my apps to the card.
from what i understand a class 2, 4, 10 dosent mean much difference in the phone, but when downloading files to a computer. i wanted to confirm that the class doesnt mean much in the phone's speed..... this will change which card i go with... sandisk class 2 32gb are roughly 60 bucks and i like the company cause ive never had a problem with them, however the store down the road frys has a wintec class 10 32 gb for 65 bucks.... just wanted to get your guys opinion.... especially since the lenex and kingston are 100 each... again im not talking about the brand im talking about the class
It will make a difference on how fast things on the sdcard load. For instance your gallery will load much faster with a higher class card. If you have apps installed on your sdcard then they will load faster and so on. Now with this being said I have a 16GB Wintech class 10 card and and Adata class 6 card. The Adata class 6 loads everything much faster than the Wintech. My guess as to why this happens is because Adata is simply a better brand than Wintech. Some people have gotten lucky with the Wintech Class 10 cards and some have not. Some Class 2 cards will read and write at class 6 speeds. Is it confusing...a little, but the higher the class for the most part the higher the speed. If you can find a good class 6 or class 10 card it will be worth it, but my advice is to stay away from the Wintech. I have heard also that the Kingston class 4 cards usually are much faster than what they are rated for. If you want cheap, go cheap, but IMO you usually get what you pay for and Kingston is probably the top brand when it comes to microsd cards.
That's not necessarily true. The class rating refers to the minimum write speed - it has nothing to do with the read speed. I recently upgraded to a 16GB class 10 card from an 8GB class 6 card.
The class 6 card got ~7 MB/s write and ~14 MB/s read in SDTools. The class 10 card gets ~11 MB/s write and ~9 MB/s read.
But in general, the higher the class the better the card will perform in your phone.
yeah, higher class cards are only really good if you stream a lot

i know this is only your opinion and im not trying to put you down or anything, but i do believe scandisk is top rated memory card.
i may be wrong, but im pretty sure they have lowest consumer complaints (about card dieing after a month or read and write speeds being slow, or whatever the consumer may complain about)
i have always used scandisk and i, myself would rate them to be the best, but thats just my opinion.

Sandisk, not scandisk.
Locally I can get Kingston, Kingmax, Serioux, PNY and a few Sandisks. Now I know Sandisks are cream of the crop that's why I can get a really cheap 32gb Sandisk class 4 from a forum brand new.
How does the Play react to 32gb sd cards?
Is class 4 sufficient or is it actually an optimum class for this phone?
Cheers in advance
Ok so here are 2 screenshots of the package of the guy's Sandisks that he's selling. Please post info's to help me out if at a glance anything is wrong ( if it's fake or not)
Cheers
Also I could buy a Samsung 16gb/class 6 microsd. It's specifications state a Read speed of: 24 mb/s and a Write speed of:13mb/s.
So come on guys, a little feedback pls?
I've heard class 4 is the best balance for the play (I got one myself) and if you can get a 32GB cheap it'll run perfectly (it supports upto 32gb officially) some have even got a 64gb running.
Yes Class 4 is pretty good for gaming, go for a 32GB class 4, I have a Transcend one and it is pretty solid so far.
