hello there i have rooted my tmobile samsung galaxy S II and i have an issue. i clear the user data and flash infamous 2.7.1 but it never gets past the blue android guy. any help to get this going would be apreciated thanks
Try it again. This time when you are on Clockwork mod recovery do a system restore. Then while dalvik cache, battery status. Twice. Or download darkside full wipe and run it twice. Then flash your rom again.

found the problem.... clockworkmod ........6 not .7 well at least i hope that was the only thing. it flashed and booted just fine after that.
I wouldn't use any cwm wipe functions. Use darkside superwipe before rom. And darkside cachewipe after Rom or anytime Rom seems buggy.

Yes, always use Darkside Superwipe and Darkside Cachewipe

Awsome will do as soon as i get home. I have one more question. The keyboard in infamous is different for the numbers. How or is there a way to put that back to what it was?
I infamous comes with a few different keyboards. When in a text field there should be an icon in notification drawer. Try changing keyboards.

Flashed cm7 on bosses Inc and then gapps. Got the phone booted then went to file manager to move the radio to SD root then rebooted to hboot and it doesn't see the radio image which is named correctly.
So I can't flash the new radio but the phones ril is working so...
Next, the market will not open... just hangs at the white screen the shuts down and goes to the home screen

I'm having the same problem with Market right now. Just flashed CM7 7.0 final. Tried several other ROMs too. They're all doing the same thing.
Had the wrong gapps flashed lol. Funny thing is had a customer come in with a stock ally doing the same thing and a rooted d2 doing it too lol.
Still doesn't change the cackle I can't flash anything through hboot on this phone

I've tried 3 different GAPPS packages, plus Sense ROMs are doing it for me too.
Is your sdcard formatted to fat 32? Necessary to flash via hboot.
Ill have to check that, the one thing I forgot, what is it stock?
Sent from my ThunderBolt using XDA App
Before you install your ROM make sure you wipe everything. Make sure you format /system
Doing those 2 things will fix most people's problems.
Also CM7.0 is pretty buggy, I would suggest flashing RC1 or preferably one of the latest nightlies.

Okay, so the phone was running awesome. Then he went to hang up on a call and the phone rebooted. It went into a boot loop. So I restored stock nandroid. Then wiped and reinstalled cm7 and all was good. dropped back down to recovery and flashed gapps and the phone boot looped again... I'm baffled.
Running cm7
2.15.00.07.28

When upgrading from nightly to nightly, I only do a dalvik wipe which can be done via RM. But when going from different roms, you need to do a full wipe, including system, which can only be done in recovery.
I don't know much about this stuff but what I have experienced is that rom manager sometimes doesn't fully wipe cache and dalvik cache and it makes my phone loop

Ended up downloading cm7.0.3 and a different gapps and all seems well except he is claiming to have SMS issues

When I try to go into Recovery to install the black infinitum theme, and it's on Android System Recovery? No option to wipe dalvik or advanced menu at all so I just rebooted.

Lol, any fix to this? I want to have cwm.
Unless you want to brick your phone I suggest you wait until a proper kernel and recovery are released for CM9.

Odin/mOdin el26+cwm, flash theme, flash aosp ICS kernel of choice reboot.

I would first recommend reading OP's fully before you flash.

The reason for this is in the OP for every aosp rom and multiple general threads dedicated to this. Read up a little or enjoy your new epic touch doorstop

Noob question here im sorry. i just got the tmobile gs2. it was already rooted and had cwm, so i got home downloaded infamous excited to flash it. I went to cwm wiped everything flashed and got bootloops. did I do something wrong?
Did you use darkside superwipe before flashing?
And try darkside cache wipe after you flash the rom.
Please give steps on exactly what you did so we can pinpoint where the issue is. I have flashed this rom many times over and never been on a boot loop.

Exactly what I did was, put the rom on my internal sd boot to cwm, the I wiped data, cache and dalvik. Then flashed the rom. It said it was all good so I rebooted and got boot bootloops. It goes to the Samsung screen then shows the infamous boot screen and keeps looping those.

I always have this issue. Wiping everything in cwm solves it for me

Blame the devs for not clarifying that TDJs scripts only work with TWRP and CWM 5.0.2.7. I tried to get their attention so they could post this vital information but they seem not to care. As far as where to get CWM 5.0.2.7, strangely enough I don't know.. I recommend flashing TWRP if you're going to stick to touchwiz ROMs. Download goomanager from the play store and update you're recovery. It will flash it within android so you don't have to worry about any fails within the recovery.

I do the same without problems. I would suggest you odin flash Twrp.
I think twrp is safe with darkside wipes but not cwm 6. Either way, I don't take chances and just made an auto wiper for me. I just got too used to having a zip wipe for me and it works great with the zip ordering thing in tarp. All done in one swipe.
