Hi,
I'm in a predicament. Bought a faulty Captivate Glide from some unscrupulous person on the internet, and it worked for about five minutes. Now the motherboard is fried and I need to replace it. No chance with Samsung - it's not under warranty because I bought it from someone. So I need to find another Glide, perhaps one with a broken screen, that someone is willing to sell to me for cheap.
Another option is, I need to find a place where I can get a compatible motherboard for the Glide.
Anyone?

Well, my SIM tray holder is broken, I can see a small spring and my SIM doesn't stay in. I have tried to get the same part for the S3 t-mobile but can't find it.
I found the international one, SD SIM tray holder for i9300, but wherever I go, the only say to be compatible with the i9300. Does anybody know if I can use this part on my t-mobile s3 ?, the parts look the same (at least to me).
Thanks for you help
If I am correct you still have a year warranty thru manufaturer and TMO will replace device. My daughter had a BB Curve and about 9 months in starting having rebooting problems and they went ahead and replaced it 3 times and on the 4th gave a crazy discount towards another phone. More than likely it will be refurbished unit not a new one. Refurb has got to be better than buying a part that you would have to install yourself and possibly mess something else up. We did not have insurance on that phone either. So if you bought thru TMO call them up.
As long as you're the first owner/first to register service with T-Mobile with that phone, you can claim the warranty.

So I came up with a new phone with faulty mainboard, tried unbricking but no help. Here I found other people with the same situation: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1935251 .
It had only a few weeks and no, I can't send it back for warranty purposes.
So I wanted to ask if any of you have or know someone who has and is interested in selling an old gsm galaxy nexus (international version). from which I can use the mainboard and make a transplant or any other help would be greatly appreciated.
Any condition would be good if the mainboard still works correctly.
Sorry if this is not the correct place to post it (I think it is...).

Dunno about there mate, but here, Portugal, Samsung service would fix it for 180€, that's the price of a mainboard.
Hi everyone! I have a quick question. In the process of trying to replace the broken screen on my S3, I ended up breaking the LCD/Digitizer -.-
I was on the hunt for a replacement i747 so I could switch out the motherboards, but on Ebay, I saw a listing of a Sprint phone that had the i747 motherboard inside of it. So my question is, could I place my motherboard inside any of the S3 variants and it will work? I know it will work with T-Mobile, but what about Sprint, Verizon, etc? Thanks :3
Nope. It won't fit.
The sprint version lacks a Sim tray so that's One incompatibility
Thanks for the answers! I'm guessing the phone I saw actually just had the Sprint LCD in the i747 housing. Or something like that. Either way, I just decided to buy another cheap i747 and switch out the boards. Thanks again
Hey all,
I was replacing a charge port in a Straight Talk S3 today and its been a pain. My hot air station just quit on me so i was cutting the port out carefully when the board slid and I took out the pads. My dilemma is that I need to either replace this board or buy the guy a new phone. Does anyone know if the Spring verison (L710) would be compatible as a replacement? I'm trying to save myself from having to go buy him a new phone if possible and I don't have the skills to replace all the pads.
Thanks in advance!

If I'm not mistaken the Straight Talk version is a GSM phone, the L 710 is a CDMA phone. You may be able to swap some of the hardware, but not the board in total.
Hi, i'm new here, but i searched everywhere.
My phone (g8s thinQ European version) is freezing and rebooting after connecting it to via chargeport. Wireless works fine.
My question: does anyone know, what the problem could be or has anyone a kind of service manual für disassembly and fixing the motherboard? I really don't want to buy a new one as long as this is not absolutely needed (a chip repair would be sufficient).
thanks in advance
Edit:
A replacement pcb-board with charge connector made no difference...this seems to be fine
Hi, i reached out to a specialist for phone repairs, i cannot repair it myself. he said, as log as he has no access to schematics or something like this, he is not able to repair it. my options: buy a new phone or find a working mainboard or get the documents to repair. so i choose the last option first
