im running WM6 on a ks20.
recently, ive had a problem with pictures and videos stored on the sdcard. if they are of a higher quality, i cant seem to view them more than once.
For instance, i take a 1600x1200 picture. i view it with the default image viewer. it displays fine. however after a while if i try to open it again, it says "cannot load file" and when i copy the photo to my pc, it get's corrupted and becomes all fuzzy. any ideas?
Also, could it be that i installed the SDHC patch? if so, does anyone know where i can download the original sdbus and sdmemory dll files? i forgot to back mine up :\
i found the problem! it happens when i take a high res picture (eg 1600x1200) and save it to the mem card. then if i wait for the phone to go to sleep (ie. display blacks out) and then turn on the screen once again and immediately try to access the photo on the mem card, it'll corrupt the photo.
lol. it's as though the sdcard went to sleep along with the screen
ideas?
Taking a picture while recording works fine if I let the camera save to my internal memory. However, if I choose the external card, it will act like it's taking the pic while recording, but it doesn't save the pic. It saves the pic, but not the video. Again, it all works fine if I save to internal memory. Is this problem my SD card or the phone? I've noticed this problem on stock and two other custom roms. Thanks for any help.
today i shot a short video, phone stores to micro SDHC class 10
phone and card has 1 week
the video was correctly saved
tonight i show this video to some friend a couple of tmes
than i did try to play it again and i find out the file is corrupted and can't be played
i try to restart phone and copy video n dropbox but without any luck
is not a big deal for this video but is not really scary for future videos

is it possible that is becouse i exit pushing home button in the middle of the video?
i read some post about this problem but just on recording, it seams the camera do not end the video correctly and corrupt it
but it sound really strange to me for video view
do you save your video on SD or internal storage?
Check if your sd card is a fake. Corruption of data is common on fake cards which have eg. 2 gb but get converted into 8gb or more, then as you fill it up you'll notice things disappearing and getting corrupt.

So I have been trying to shoot some 4K footage when I realised my G4 was unable to do so. Here's why: whenever I tap the record button (16:9, UHD) the UI disappears (like when recording in 1080p or 720p) but the timer and the red dot aren't there. The pause and stop buttons don't work. I have to wait about 10 seconds for G4 to actually start recording. Unfortunatelly after I'm done, the saved video is corrupted and I am unable to open it. Any ideas, G4 owners?
First. Where do u save your file? Sdcard or internal storage. Ive got almost the same problem and it was cuz a sdcard was corrupted. So if this could help you should check it
Speaking of corrupted SD cards... I had one when I was in my previous Xperia L, but here I'm saving photos and videos in the internal storage, so that shouldn't be the case... I have stock android 6.0, no root and a locked bootloader. Shooting in both 720 and 1080p is as flawless as the OIS allows me, but UHD is broken. The device is approx. 1 month old.
Is there anyone who has experienced similar problems and/or may be able to suggest any solutions?
Anyone else having issues recording video? I'm set to record at 4k (30FPS) and it sometimes takes about 2-3 seconds to start recording after I hit the button. Not only that, the live video on the screen freezes and skips around a bit then eventually catches up.
I read of a similar issue on the Note 8, something about disabling "EIS?"
I'm recording to my external SD card, maybe I need a faster SD Card?
Thanks!

What is the rating of your SD Card? Have you changed the storage option to Internal memory and tried recording to see if the issue still exists?

The SD Card is a Sandisk ultra, 100MB/s
So, I did some testing and it is happening when I have my screen resolution at WQHD+ resolutions, regardless of storing to SD Card or phone.
If I drop down to FHD+ resolution, there is no lag.

Okay. Factory reset your phone then try again. If it still lags/stutters get it replaced and test in-store before leaving.
Turn off EIS, and select HEVC.

Is a very well known issue and to set screen to fhd+ not helping a lot... Switch off eis solve the problem but videos are not well stabilised.
Hecv is not giving any help at all.
We need a fix because is a very expensive phone
Not sure if it is resolved but I have laggy video when recording.
Screen resolution is FHD+, Video recording resolution is 720p and recording to SD Card.

Tried a faster SDCard? Is it resolved when you record to internal storage?

The SDCard is a "SanDisk Ultra 80MB/s microSDXC 64GB" Class 10 so it should at least be able to do 10MB/s.
Haven't tried internal storage but how fast does the sdcard need to be?

Switch storage locations and see if it fixes it, then you'll know
Happened to my S9+ as well even recorded directly to internal storage. I was recording with 4K and 30fps and noticed that my videos are not smooth especially when panning left or right but slightly better when up and down. My previous S8 did not encountered this problem. My only solution so far is to turn off the stabilization and use gimbal.
