Titanium Backup alternative? (compatible with JellyBean) - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Well, I'm mad that I shelled out the almost $7 (for an app?! come on what happened to $0.99 apps.....) for Titanium Backup, only to find out that apparently it doesn't work on Jelly Bean. And of course by the time the backup was done and my phone was wiped, it was too late for a refund.
So, do I have an alternative to restore my apps / data in JB?

Titanium works fine for me with JB.

Restore of user apps and data works fine for me as well in JRN84D.

Titanium backup works ok, apart from uninstalling/restoring system apps/data.
You have to give the dev abit of time. As jelly bean has only just been released officially. He will fix it soon.

it's not working for restoring/removing system apps on JB. but yeah, give him some time to get it working. he'll get it. probably with the next update

It has been working flawlessly for me on JB. You have to keep in mind that some applications or their app data may not be compatible with JB, but that isn't the fault of Titanium Backup.

As above for me also, backup & restore works great and system app uninstall crashes the app.
You do realise there is a free version to test it out though, right? The only reason (for me) the donate version is worth it, apart from supporting the dev, is google drive\dropbox sync.

Like others have said, TI works fine.
Failing that...try ROM control.

When I flashed JB, the first thing I did after setup was get titanium from the play store, and restore all my user apps+ data. That worked flawlessly. As of yet, I haven't tried a backup.

It's not available for the Galaxy Nexus right now, I'm guessing it's a 3.0+ compatibility issue. Has anyone tried getting the APK to work on their Nexus? To be clear, I'm not asking for the APK, I just want to know before I buy it on my vibrant to transfer over.
Would love to know this also. I sent an email to their help desk ([email protected]), but have not heard anything back yet.
I was able to install on my old ERIS and backup with titanium backup, then restore to my verizon nexus. It works. I tested with the LITE version; don't want to buy the full version if its not going to work.
Can't extract the LITE apk, by the way, it's set up like a paid app.
I am also interested in this. App is "incompatible" with my DroidX, but I was able to download it to a regular Droid. Not sure how.
Editing the build.prop file also did not help.
Oh and the Google wallet trick of opening in the phone browser then selecting market app doesn't work either. Just days item can't be found
Correction
Correction to my previous post: Editing the build.prop file DOES work. I successfully changed from a DroidX to a Droid3, and was able to download and install from the Market.
I was able to download the app from the market on my galaxy nexus no problems. Runs smooth. Go jays go
Using AOKP 27 rom if that makes a difference.

Ruh roh, might be incompatible with 4.0.4 roms then. Ho hum. Go yanks!
Thanks for the replies. I went ahead and bought the app on my rooted Samsung Vibrant, sent the apk to my Galaxy Nexus and it works perfectly. Well the app does at least, I'll have to wait for a game to see if the streaming audio and stuff works.
Works off amazon
I too could not see it in the market using liquid rom....it did show up in the amazon app store however...working fine now
It was updated today. It's compatible with the GNex now.

What are you running? I'm on stock 4.04 CDMA version and it still doesnt show for me.
I have been able to install with no problem on 4.02 and 4.03. I haven't tried 4.0.4 yet.
If you have a paid MLB.tv subscription you can access everything for free by installing the MLB lite version. After you log in, it unlocks the paid subscription version. It states that in the MLB At Bat 12 description.

Doesn't work on 404 but works on 403 confirmed
What did you use to rip the apk? Would like to put this on my tablet to.
Works fine on 4.0.4, it just does not show up in the market on 4.0.4.
I restored a 4.0.2. nandroid backup, installed the app, backed it up with Titanium back up, restored my 4.0.4. nandroid backup, and then installed it with Titanium back up.

Same here. Btw, in years past they update that app fairly regularly at the beginning of baseball season, so you'll want to be on a 403 ROM to get updates without having to nand every time.

[Q] Reinstalling applications from Google

I had Galaxy SII with lots of applications on it bought and paid some from google store. Got the new SIII and have downloaded some apps I can remember; Titaniun Backup Pro; Rom Manager, Kindle, Speed Test, Fing, Free Adware, Power Amp, Alarm Clock Busy Box, Wifi Theter....bought Titanium Media Sync, No Bloat; so far but there are more apps I cant even remember..now I know there is a way to restore them from Google but I forgot and need some help with it.
The SIII is rooted but I have not installed any custom roms or kernels...tried with Kies and software told me there was a new Firmware update...did it and had to re-root after..lol...I have not done anything since I had my SII with Juggernaut v3.7 from forever on my old one.
I keep reading the stock kernel works OK. I did backup with titanium to external card but opss!!...it is not there so I cant restore any apps; besides, those apps were installed on the SII now I need them on SIII; I hope I do not have to download them one by one.
I *think* I kept my plan of 5gB; they tried to push me for the unlimited but I paid cash full price for the phone; i theter but not movies or games or such hungry data power; in this regards; Which is the applications that needs to be uninstalled or de bloated from the GSIII to be ok with the dreadful tmobile catching of thetering?
Really? Just go to play store check my apps section

[Q] restoring apps wit titanuim backup pro after moving to ICS

Well my question is quite simple, oes anybody restored apps and wifi seting after migreting from GB to ICS or CM10 with no troubles?I know system apps need to installed again but I got a lot of apps that it will be a pain to reconfigure them one by one again. As I have the pro version I know it offers a migreting tool from difrent roms but as anybody tried that before?

Depends on which app, because, some apps have not been fully updated to support ICS or JB. Most of the time it should be okay.

How to enable google restore?

Usually when I flash a new rom google automatically restores all my apps. Somehow when I installed the latest rom google did not automatically restored my apps so I had to manually install them one by one. When the phone booted up from the first time after flashing, I am pretty sure I check marked the google backup and resotre, but somehow it did not happen.
Anyway is there a way to enforce google restore without having to cleanup everything and start from scratch again?
anybody?
Google restore is a mystery. Sometimes it works sometimes not so much. I don't know if anyone has ever explored why
Pay the few bucks for Titanium Backup. You will be glad you did.

Hangouts force close

I've flashed the new 4.3 rom and the new radio .83 and bootloader. Everything seems to work great other than mx player which I know is currently not yet compatible. The issue I am having is Google hangouts it keep force closing. The only success I've had is restoring app and data using titanium backup and even that is only temporary. I have wiped data I've also uninstalled hangouts and reinstalled it using the playstore but no success, any ideas?

@joshhayden10 4.3 isn't officially released so some apps won't work properly. Apps like apex and MX player don't work for some to name a few.

Yes: post to the Q&A subforum. I don't think anyone visiting the Themes and Apps wants to help you, out of principle. You should ask the mod to move your thread.
