Try wipe data
Sent from my GT-S5360 using XDA
as mentioned by the previous poster.
I think using "wipe data" will reset the phone to the original settings back to the "click the android to begin".
this method may work unless you still have something you want to backup from your phone.
if it still does not work, then it is a good time to unleash the power of ODIN!!!!
you can unlock it with android sdk.phone must be soft or hardrooted.start the phone usb debug must be enebled for this method,i hope you have, open cmd window(windows)navigate to "platform-tools" from sdk folder where is da adb.exe, type step by step the following commands:
adb remount
adb shell rm /data/system/gesture.key
after thats the lock is deleted, the joke is the phone ask for the patternlock, but you can type wat u want all is right now.
Method nr2:
The second option presented here is the quickest and cheapest option, since it costs nothing
You choose first "emergency". Give her as an emergency number
*2767*3855#
Now you can reset your phone and lock the screen is then gone, too, as your data.
i hope it helps:good:
explanation:method1
If your set at the Androiddevice a screen unlock, it is in the folder / data / system file with the name "gesture.key" created. This contains the data as the correct pattern looks like, in encrypted form. If this is now removed with the rm command so the system knows the unlock does not work properly and take any pattern to be correct.

Well, I normally dont use any type of lock for my HTC Desire HD, however I had people messing around with my phone therefore I set up a lock screen with password. Problem is I had mistyped the password 2times in a row while setting it up therefore now I don't know how to unlock my device. I have a gmail account however even after typing a incorrect password 75 times it still doesnt give the option to put my gmail it may be that I dont have internet connection at the moment on my device , all I have is emergency call. I dont want to delete my data on the device, I'm running LeeDroid custom rom. I've heard some suggestion about using ADB but couldnt find proper method how to
Replies very much appreciated,
thanks
I think the only thing you can do is wipe and flash rom again although i would assume there is some sort of forgot password repair.

that's what I really don't wanna do, got some stuff which I hadn't backed up yet thanks though.
Did you trie to re-install the custom ROM? Don't know for sure but if you don't format or wipe anything maybe it will set the lockscreen back in default.
Download android-sdk, this will give you the adb control.
when you plug your cell to your computer it will ask you what do to, and you can choose internet pass through(get internet from the computer on to the cell) and maybe the lockscreen will send a "reset password" request.
anyway, if you re-flash your current ROM without any wipes, you won't be loosing any data
i set a PIN unlock for lockscreen last night and i forgot it. i cant get in my phone and i dont want to hard reset because i have lots of important data:crying:
please anyone who has a solution help fast
you can do this(its for pattern lock, but try it and see)

i dont know anything about adb but i found another method somewhere on XDA. He said to make a nandroid backup then wipe data from recovery then restore only data of the nandroid backup. Will this method work and will all my data be there?
I may or may not work...its the only solution i think for your problem...
Dude get it wrong more times and sooner or later it asks to use your Google account?

But that requires you to have mobile data enabled.without it,you cannot sign in.is your data enabled?
This sounds fishy to me.... all you need to do is enter your Google account info next to emergency call. How can we trust that it is actually your phone ?

I my phone was locked, and I was requested to enter my google acc, so I did, but it was not recognized, My password is the same since I created my acc, never changed, so I had no solution than making a factory reset to get back my cell, but this is not a solution, since I have a small child and he always playing with the mobile, and this might happen again.
If anyone have an idea please feel free to ask any questions to make it clearer

that happens only when maximum password attempts has been reached.
when asked, you have to be connected to the internet coz verification is done online.
now if you want to avoid this from happening again, don't use any password or pin lock.

So, of I'm not connected Noway to recover the lock, this seems stupid from Samsung it should be stored on the phone, anyway I made an image of my ROM. So if it happened again I will just restore. Thanks for the reply

Silence is a bless
you couldve just rooted ur phone then installed CWM or TWRP recoveries so u could keep all ur data by making a nandroid backup so u can pull all ur data from it after having a factory reset

I have CM10 Alpha7 on my phone, and I have a Nandroid backup and already used it and nothing lost, my question here? What if my cell is not rooted? There should be a different way. That's what I wanna know,
if ur not rooted then ull simply root ur device through the stock recovery as usual then install the recovery and make ur nandroid backup or simply just format system and cache and re install the same rom so ur data won't b touched (im not so sure if it will help with removing ur lock but my guess is that it will), cuz if u go to SSC in egypt then they will simply tell u to format ur cell (they dont give a s**t for us bro)

But I guess this way the lock issue will be restored also, I'm only guessing. And the SSC like u said they don't care. This is not the solution I was looking for, but till now its the best answer, at least not telling me how stupid i was, thanks bro

I already made a factory reset, and flashed the ROM again, Luckily and thanks to a friend of mine who advised me couple days before this problem happens, he told me "Make a backup just in case" so I didn't lose anything, and now I made a new Image of my ROM, so what ever happens in the future I will just restore the whole ROM with the settings, but really thank you for trying to help, because every time I ask for help, I must find someone who gives me a frustrating answer, once I was asking about some stuff for my SGW, and someone named Frank said "Your phone isn't popular if you want help get a more popular phone" I felt like oO if you can't help why bother replying, so I really appreciate anyone who tries to help:good:

if your fingerprint isn't recognized and you forgot (or are unable to enter) your backup password a complete factory reset is likely the only way to get around that, I would reboot into recovery mode and wipe cache first. also try powering down your device and remove the battery for a few seconds then replace the battery and reboot.
I did have issues with the fingerprint scanner on 4.4.4 where it took several passes to recognize but have not had that issue yet with Lollipop.

I was trying avoid to factory reset, but seems like this is only way. I search everywhere and can't find anything. BTW. I know my backup password but seems like my phone gone coocoo after update and don't accept my password. I'm 101 % sure password i put in is correct. Thanks for your help..
Hi Everyone,
I am mildly freaked out because I'm overseas and somehow between the time I went to bed and woke up my pin stopped working and I am really stumped. The phone is encrypted at boot and I can get through that lock but when I reach the lock screen my pin just doesn't work anymore. I have rooted my T-Mobile HTC 10 without issue and have TWRP installed.
My fear is that I am going to have to do a hard reset and that scares the crap out of me.
Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong or can try? Yes, the pin is absolutely correct.
Try the following:
Boot into TWRP and open the TWRP file manager.
Go to /data/system and delete all locksettings.* files.
Reboot to your system.
Your pin should be removed and you can set a new one.
