LCD Density - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Doss anyone here know a good app to adjust this for JB
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app

Any sort of build.prop editor should work as long as you're rooted. Change ro.sf.lcd_density to your required value. This should almost guarantee computability with JB.

Yes. But alot of ppl been saying that they don't pass the Google screen after they change it.
That is why I ask if anyone has found a a app for JB

Thanks. Glad to know. I didn't know Rom Toolbox could so that. And I have the Pro.

Link to the toolkit? I was unaware the 7.0(?) had been updated to support JB.
EDIT: Nevermind, didn't realized it was toolbox that was mentioned and not toolkit.

I didn't check I just did it on the off chance . Every ROM I've used ROM toolbox has always been able to change DPI where as other apps haven't. So do it anyway see what happens lol but its fine

CM7 Device Name in the market

I keep getting messages that my device isn't compatible with most software in the market. I'm on nightly 14. It's not a great situation because I can't update many of my apps, and some require updates to function. Any way I can change it so its recognized correctly?
I was having the same problem but it went away for me as of a few minutes ago. I'm running nightly 16 with kernel sanders v3 and have the odexed file mod

Change references in build.prop from epicmtd to epic. Iirc though, this has been fixed in later builds.
If you've changed your dpi settings, revert the changes. This ****s with the market also.

Jt, are you still working with the epic cm team? It looks like they need help with the touchscreen on cm9 and the epic and charge drivers are pretty different. Thanks for all the help and great stuff you've brought for this community, especially without having an epic.

Yes I did..damnest thing I ever seen. Some cm7 themes are ok but others are no nos. It is not just cm7, it has been like this on the last few roms I've ran. I'm managing to get the apps I need but I won't hunt down apks for paid apps if I have no way of paying

Many apps from Play Store not compatible

Anyone else finding this phone is not compatible with a lot of android apps?. All the apps I purchased (about 75) were compatible with my Samsung Galaxy W. Now half of them, if not more, are not compatible with the S2X. A phone that's twice as powerful.
Is there any way of fixing this?

I realized this is main problem, thank you. DPI was set to 200 and now I reverted back to 240, many of the apps are working again. Although some apps are still not compatible

Your dpi needs to be that of a native resolution. 160 240 or 320.
Or you can use a hacked market and Google services framework which always returns a constant value for your display resolution.

The second link looks more promising. I've tried a couple and have gotten a lot of other errors not related to compatibility. So I modded my own. It has simply JUST the dpi hack nothing more nothing less.

i flashed the 2nd link, i can now see all my apps and update them (sweet!) but still missing the movies and book section of the market and the categories of apps like "top apps" and "top paid" only show like 5 apps... weird. i posted there to see what he says.
UPDATE: I can confirm the second link works perfectly. The whole market is there, all apps are there, displays all currently installed apps and able to update all apps.

[APP] Change density?

Can we change the density of our n4 already and use a modded google play?
I don't see why that would be an issue.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
if you do it correctly play wont be a problem.
set it all up standard, except all the stuff at first launch.
and then just edit the build prop and reboot. simple
i dont think it would work..u will probably end up getting a bootloop
I'm using it at 240dpi from day one without any problem

You can edit build.prop or download an app that will do it for you. For the least amount of headaches you should download the modified version of the play store which will allow you to have various densities with having to wipe Play Store data.

You do that if you use not standard PPI, like 280, 240 and 320 are both standard and don't need modified play store

why exactly would that happen?
I want to change it to 260 ppi but I'm going to have problems with google store. I stil have not found a modded google play for 3.10.9
Playstore compatible ppi are:
ldpi low-density (ldpi) screens (~120dpi)
mdpi medium-density (mdpi) screens (~160dpi).
hdpi high-density (hdpi) screens (~240dpi).
xhdpi extra high-density (xhdpi) screens (~320dpi).
So go for 240 if you want the stock playstore working
It is so perfect the way it is! Why would you want to change it? That was actually one of the first things I noticed. I was like, "Yay! I don't need to mess with build.prop."
I tired changing my dpi to 240 and for some reason i can't get past the google logo now. think i will have to sideload a stock img to fix.

Yeah. It happened to me. There is no way.
I'm running 200 dpi and I haven't encountered any compatibility issues with the Play Store or any other apps.
However, after a couple hours, I have to relog into the Amazon app store. Not sure if this is dpi related (pretty sure it isn't).
Are y'all using an app to change dpi or manually editing the build.prop. I'd definitely recommend the latter to avoid any issues.

If you guys decide to edit the build.prop make sure to set the permissions correctly or the phone won't boot

TF101 Apps on Nexus 7

I've been doing alot of searching, haven't found a definitive answer.
My question. Can the "Mylibrary.apk" work on the n7? I have pushed my copy of the apk to /system /app to no avail. Won't even open, crashes to "unfortunately, Mylibrary has stopped". I've also changed file permissions appropriately.
I know, that should give me the answer I need, but I'm curious if maybe I need more than just the apk, so that's what I'm looking for, an answer to this question. Do I need anything else, other than a TF101, to make it work?
It's not about finding a book app, I could just use the nook app. I like Mylibrary from Asus.
Thanks for any responses

Exactly what I'm wondering. Guess I could've been that straightforward as well
I know I had it running on my n7 before, but had to remove it to update, I believe, and I can't for the life of me remember where I got the info on installing it
If it matters, I'm on rooted 4.1.2. Also if it matters, I have my dpi set at 160

[q] navbar on sammy roms

Hi to all. I tried to search everywhere all over the network. I found something but not really concerned to what I would have.
So, I explane my question:
I have enabled the soft keys modifying the build.prop. I have write the command: qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 and wow the navbar was shown after a reboot.
No problems and no issue. Now my desire is to change the color of these buttons. But its possible on AOSP AOKP roms like CM 10 and I have not found anythings regarding sammy roms.
If someone could help me to know how can I change it or explane me if it is possible or not I give my thanks.
Anyone can help me?
