I keep getting messages that my device isn't compatible with most software in the market. I'm on nightly 14. It's not a great situation because I can't update many of my apps, and some require updates to function. Any way I can change it so its recognized correctly?
I was having the same problem but it went away for me as of a few minutes ago. I'm running nightly 16 with kernel sanders v3 and have the odexed file mod

Change references in build.prop from epicmtd to epic. Iirc though, this has been fixed in later builds.
If you've changed your dpi settings, revert the changes. This ****s with the market also.

I think there's a cracked market that fixes that. And yes, market filtering has been fixed in the nightlies

Jt, are you still working with the epic cm team? It looks like they need help with the touchscreen on cm9 and the epic and charge drivers are pretty different. Thanks for all the help and great stuff you've brought for this community, especially without having an epic.

I know when coming back to hdpi you'll need to clear the data and cache for it to revert

On the web app, says it's incompatible with my epic, but I purchased it on release day...
Any way to update?
[Solution]
I was on a nightly build of cm7. I had to reflash the latest cm7 rc, dl gta, back it up, restore my nightly and then restore the app (same for the sony arc launcher)

I started getting this error today on every market download attempt (paid or free)... Running sleeper ROM, but I've been there for a while without seeing this... If I clear app data from Play, will it not know what apps I have? May give that a try...

It's gotten really bad on my Galaxy Tab P7500. To get around it, I go to settings>applications and uninstall updates to Google play. Then I can go in and download one app before I get the error again. Real pain in the butt.

Thanks to synisterwolf here on xda... by going to menu/settings/applications and make sure you are under the "all" tab, go to Google framework services and Google play and clear out the data. Stop if necessary then reboot

Any sort of build.prop editor should work as long as you're rooted. Change ro.sf.lcd_density to your required value. This should almost guarantee computability with JB.

That is why I ask if anyone has found a a app for JB

Thanks. Glad to know. I didn't know Rom Toolbox could so that. And I have the Pro.
Link to the toolkit? I was unaware the 7.0(?) had been updated to support JB.
EDIT: Nevermind, didn't realized it was toolbox that was mentioned and not toolkit.
I didn't check I just did it on the off chance . Every ROM I've used ROM toolbox has always been able to change DPI where as other apps haven't. So do it anyway see what happens lol but its fine

Even if u break down to the lowest???
It should at 196.
Can someone post the steps to get Google play store to find certain apps when it doesn't recognize my device because I have the DPI set low? I remember when I was on aokp it had the steps built into the ROM but I don't remember how. Play store either doesn't show what I was searching for or it says device not compatible. Also what is the lowest you can set it before the play store can't recognize it? Thanks!

Change dpi, reboot, clear market cache, enter market, accept.
As far as dpi for market, depends on what you consider working. As you move away from stock, you start having different things happening like movies+tv disappearing or apps being not supported. You have to mess around since no one has yet posted a list of trial and errors. To get around the apps issue, download the modified market app. It will remove the app restriction, but be careful you don't try to install something you shouldn't.
Download LCD modder pro. It gives you the option to download modded market. Works great for me
I use rom toolbox pro to change dpi, reboot, download 2 files from lcd modder pro, install and reboot. You might see a bunch of things fc while its prepping to reboot but its fine

Haha! I know the feeling!!! Just a quick note!
When you replace the files. Delete the app cache for the market and Google services framework via settings then flash the modded market. I'm gonna look into Google services framework as well and see what role that gas in market compatibility. Also after replacing files, reboot to recovery and clear bother cache partition and dalvik cache. That should help.

Did you change the DPI before adding the files? or did you change the files then change DPI and then reboot? It being JB shouldnt really matter as the android market is pretty universal as GB market works on ICS and etc. However they may have changed it.
Can you provide an exact step by step as to what you did?
Can the prl be changed manually on an aosp rom like cm or rootbox? I tried connecting it to qpst but couldn't figure it out or if I was missing something.

We are working on implementing this into EOS roms. This might prove to be a tough task, but we are making strides. Bigrushdog, the head honcho at EOS, was able to create an apk previously called CMDATools. We have all the options in place its not getting them to work.

The CM version of the Nexus S had PRL and Profile options built in as does the AOSP stock version. It might be worth checking to see if that is able to be ported to the OG.

Yeah that only works for Samsung Ril I believe because it's definitely a Samsung app. It doesn't even work unless on the nexus ril and modem even on other galaxy s devices. Luckily, I was able to port that to the epic, however, there is no CDMA LG nexus to pull from.
