Yeah, I am as well....am not getting any Internet access even though it allows me to join the network. I have Win 7 x64 and have tried with 2 diff computers and 3 diff versions of the wireless tether...7, 8 and 9. It was working at first and then all of a sudden it just stopped allowing me to surf the Net. I started my own thread on this but not much help from all of the knowledgable people on here nor with replies.

I setup Cygwin inside my Win7 x64 Lenovo T420, worked great for playing with my Flyer ROM and learning how things work as far as ROMs go.

Reboot your computer

install everything from Windows Updater and you are good to go
I'm having the same problem. I have tried different USB cords and slots. It picks up on a friends computer though. On mine it doesn't even have a yellow exclamation. I can't even find the device in the control panel to uninstall it so I can reinstall a fresh driver. Tried drivers from Samsung website as well as PDA net app

download MTP drivers, update to windows media player 11, and make sure your entire OS is up to date.
if none of that works then you have a pretty big issue. And my recommendation would be to upgrade to Windows 7. Honestly, there isn't much reason not to.

I've been looking for a way to get windows up and running on my kindle fire. I have the non-HD version but it comes w/ the new 10.2.4 OS. I have it rooted but that's pretty much it.
Would you be so kind as to point me in the right direction on how to set up Windows XP on the Kindle Fire? Did you follow a step-by-step guide? I'm not a dev in any sense but I can follow instructions fairly well
Also, did you manage to solve your touchscreen issue? Is the windows XP you have running usable as a daily driver? I would love to use this thing for work.
I PMed you as well.
Thanks!
It should just be tap to click. I have windows 95 on my fire and it works great.

Is that the version where you pretty much can't do anything with it other than simple applications? If it is fully functional can you please direct me to a link for further information?

I haven't had time to actually install anything on it, but as far as I know, everything works fine (no bugginess), except for network, which means you'll have to download any files using android and move them over to the virtual machine.
I would be interested in a guide on how to put windows on the fire as well. Seems like a crime but would be a cheap way to connect back with my win environment.
