[Q] Swyping function with HTC Sense Keyboard removed with last Update? - HTC One V

Hi,
before the Update to Version 2.09.207.1, there was the possibility to slide over the HTC Stock Keyboard from letter to letter to select a word (a yellow line was displaying the path). After installing the Update this function seems to be missing.
Is there an option to reactivate it?
Greetings,
ernschd

factory reset may help you...

RE:
Sorry, dude, that function is gone for all the One series. God knows why, though.

Google Swype. Fine keyboard that does as you ask

Desire Z forum suggestion

When I get to my daily visit to the XDA forum, to leech and see what the latest developments are, I always click the "FORUMS" menu item. This gives me a list with all the available forums, complete with an image of the phones associated with them. Or it gives me a list with phone images and the forums associated with them.. who cares
What I do is, scroll down as fast as I can and try to spot the phone that I'm really interested in, the Desire Z. The only problem is, what my eyes are looking (scanning) for is a phone with a keyboard. And here's the thing, the image used for the Desire Z forum... doesn't show the keyboard!!! Which to me is kinda silly, since the main thing for the phone is the keyboard. And I believe most other phones that have a keyboard, show the keyboard in the image. So I feel left out.
So my kind request to you moderator types is: "Could we, Desire Z users (or maybe it's just me), get an image that shows the keyboard for the forum?"
I mean, the fact that most of us find out that we don't use the keyboard as much as we had expected, doesn't mean it's not there! Keyboards have rights too you know!
Anyway, thanks.
Hi i am keen on desire z. How is the hw keyboard? My fingers tend to be too thick for small km.

I'm really happy with it actually. The keyboard is nice, they left enough room between the keys even for larger fingers. But if you have thumbs the size of sausages it's going to be tough on any hw keyboard I guess. My thumbs aren't that big and I was used to using the Xperia X1 keyboard, so this is a great improvement
The only problem I have is the fact that I don't use it as often as I thought I would. The onscreen keyboard is great, so I find myself using that a lot more for quick messages than the hw keyboard.
I guess for smartphones the hw keyboard really is dying.... It's sad... Even Blackberry has a touch-screen/keyboard combo device nowadays
Or... at the top right, just type "Z" in "find your device", and pick it there?
If thats the particular forum you jump to first of all then why not set some kind of bookmark/quicklink in your browser......
And as Pulser said, top right corner.... find any device in seconds.
I cant remember the last time I had to scroll through that list.

THis is exactly what I do, I have three links on my book marks bar on Chrome, one to take me straight to desire z forum, one to the general android section and another to the front page.

I know, you are all right. And I do have a bookmark and I do know how to use the search or the CTRL+F keys. Still, isn't it a little strange that every picture in the list has the keyboard out when it has one, except for the Desire Z.
You do know I'm being a little sarcastic in my first post right?

I'm also interested in a solution. Tried some applications like light flow but they did not work on the V.
i get this issue also, but i think this is made in purpose by HTC in terms of saving battery
It must be a simple way to increase the time... maybe some dev. can help us
It is the same for One X. Some dev say it is kernel related to control it and HTC do it that way to save battery.
Yes, but when the battery is under 15% the led is flashing continuously and drain faster :-(

Hi if you need an app to notify you can try No-LED from the market. It is for phones that don't have traditional LEDs and displays icons on-screen to notify you about what kind of notifications you have. Also it supports notifications from all apps on your phone, not just mail, calls and sms.

Hope that helps .

[Q] 2 questions

Hi all!
First i would like to thank to all people that have made this forum, maintain it and help users. I am also very grateful for cyanogenmod that i am using.
Second of all, i have search this forum for a solution, and i didnt find it, i have used google too. If i have missed it somehow i apologize myself.
Since yesterday i am user of cyanogenmod 7.2.0-buzz and i like it so far (i didnt use any rom before as i had varanty which i didnt want to lose).
Everything is good so far, but there are 2 buggs (problems) which i dont know how to solve them, i would appreciate any help, even redirecting to another mod.
My problems are following:
- as several other members, i dont have working wifi (is there any solution for this in this particular mod version?)
- 4 main buttons of my htc wildfire always vibrate when i touch them (home, menu, back, search), i turn vibrating off in setting, but nothing happens. This is kinda annoying if text alot and surf the web.
So if anyone could help me fix it, i would appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

[Q] Alternative dialer app

I am very satisfyed with my new Note 2. I have only one big problem. After three weeks I am not used to use the oroginal Samsung app for dialer, and contacts. Before note I have had more HTC-s and there woa the dialer app much better. Can anybody suggest me some alternative?
On HTC when I want to find for example name Martin, I write 6278 and I see list of all names with Martin. But first is the last called one. I tap on it and the phone si dialing. On Samsung I write 6278 and I see only one name with Martin, but not the last called. It is the first person alphabeticaly. Then I click on triangle, it shows me more names with Martin. Then I search the right one, then I tap on it and then I tap on green phone icon. It takes much mor time.
I have been using dialer one. It works just like the HTC sense dialer.

[Q] After word prediction, prevent adding space character

Hello all,
Before M8 i owned HTC Sensation. I think at that phone word prediction was more pratical.
For example;
when i would like to write a longer word like "swimming", firstly i was typing "sw" and the phone predict me the word "swim" and for not typing all the rest letters i was clicking the "swim" word and after then i could continue directly this word. Type "ming" and voila the word "swimming"
But at M8, when i click the "swim" word the phone add automatically a space character and if i continue to typing "ming" it creates like this "swim ming" . So is there any way to prevent adding this space character ?
Somewhere in the settings for the keyboard likely. Just look around the settings.
If not, try a keyboard or two to replace it. That option is on most of them.
