I just recently purchased my Galaxy Nexus from the play store and while on vacation I was trying to search for a store on Google maps and I couldn't get a lock. I've had this phone almost a month now and this was the first time I notice it so I tried Gps Status and no deal. After several reboots and resting the gps data I tried my straight talk sim and it locked within a min. I loaded Google maps and got a lock right away.
What would be causing my GPS to not lock while on a T-Mobile sim but to get a lock while on AT&T sim?
I know others have problems with GPS from the many post in this and other forums but I don't recall anyone mentioning the network as a factor.

Just tried out the GPS on my GSM Galaxy Nexus that is running a T-Mobile sim card and I got no problem at all. I got a GPS lock and signal within a few seconds. Restore? That would be my best bet.

If you're using T-Mobile's IPv6 APN - aGPS doesn't work on it.

Hi there,
I have a rooted Galaxy Nexus, that for some crazy reason won't connect to Wind Mobile's network here in Canada (IIRC, Wind uses the same frequences/bands as T-Mobile). When I first got the phone it did, but now no luck. Originally the phone had Android 4.0.1 (yakju-itl41f) with the UKGL1 baseband. When I got the 4.0.4 OTA that is when things started to go wrong.
I don't think I have a bad SIM card, as when I put the SIM in my Nexus One it works just fine.
I've spoke with Wind Mobile's technical support, and they weren't to useful. The suggested I take the device to their "maintenance centre" here in Edmonton, Alberta. However, when I called this "maintenance centre" there was no answer and I could not leave voice mail. Here are somethings I've tried:
Flashed the following radios:
UGKL1
UGLA4
UGLC1
XXLA2
Other things I have tried:
Turn airplane mode off then on
A hard reset: while the phone is on, pull the battery, pull the SIM, let the phone sit for 5 minutes.
Flashed the 4.0.1 Stock Image from Google (ITL41F).
Flashed the 4.0.4 Stock Image (IMM76D and IMM76I).
Installed CyanogenMod 9 and then set the minimum clock speed to 700Mhz
Erased the cache according to this post.
Disabled the "adaptive voltage scaling" (described here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24355203&postcount=28) by doing echo 0 > /sys/kernel/debug/smartreflex/sr_core/autocomp
Currently the device is back to 4.0.1 and UGKL1 as I think I have to return the phone. I'm starting to suspect that the radio is broken.
Any suggestions/tips/ideas a guy could otherwise try?
Thanks in Advance.
What about the apn settings?

The rep from Wind Mobile went over those with me, so the APN is okay.
The phone can see my carrier (302490), it just can't register on their network.

Call Wind and ask the to do a "resend to switch". It may work.

Well, it seems that the problem was hardware. Wind Mobile replaced the phone, now all is well.
Thanks for the suggestions all.

So, I've scoured the internet hoping to find a solution to my problem but I had yet to find a single thread to actually help. Okay so I have a 4.0.2 ICL53F Galaxy Nexus under Fido in Canada. My phone is rooted and is currenly bluffing as a T-Mobile phone through the Market Enabler App. I have the lastest APK of Google Wallet but everytime I try ot open it I am greeting with this message...
"Hardware not supported. Sorry, this device is not yet supported. We are wroking to add support. Please check Market later for updates."
This is NOT a banner to avoid the confusion I've seen in the answering of other peoples posts who had similar problems. This is a window that appears when I first open the program and the only option it gives me is to exit the program. I would show a picture but forum rules prevent me, a new member, from doing do. So if anyone has had this and solved it please help me out.
Only works in US
you can download by tricking the market but when you open the app the sim tells Google wallet the truth about where you are

So it doesn't matter that my phone is set to T-Mobile?

From what I understand no. That just lets you download it. Same with manually installing it. There is something in the app that checks region or something along those lines. A user in Florida hasn't received his sim card yet and said it wouldn't let him use it so it checks something maybe carrier I'd. Not sure just thinking out loud

Not sure this will help...
But have you tried to turn off the cellular radio, remove your SIM, and connecting only using WiFi? Part to the process to provision your GW Prepaid card reaches out and talks to Google and Money Network. It's possible it's seeing the packets coming from a non-us carrier or the carrier ID from your SIM? Too bad you don't have a prepaid SIM from TMO or ATT there to use to provision your wallet. Hope this helps.
wallet will not work in canada google is adding support in a few months though. it was just on global news 3 days ago

I don't believe it will work without being able to access the SIM. I have airplane mode and wifi turned on for most of the day and Wallet will never work with Airplane Mode enabled. Works fine when Airplane Mode is off, either over wifi or mobile data.
I use it here in bermuda,
Clear clache of google wallet. if that doesn't work delvik cache too
Download Market Enabler set it to US cell carrier -open it before you open google wallet
set up a VPN for the US
I have one. I use "myprivatenetwork" google it.\
it gives you instructions.
Open google wallet set it up turn off vpn. voila
google wallet works.
you can turn off the phone it will still work as long as you do not clear the cache for wallet.
Stupid question.. but have you enabled NFC on your phone? Although you cannot top up your google prepaid card here in canada anymore, you can still use $10 that google gives you for free for just enabling wallet. And Yes, it works. I have it working on my GNex running on Telus.
I just tested this again. without carrier faking using market enabler, I get exactly same message as you. however if I fake my carrier to (us) T-Mobile, my google wallet open up just fine.
Move to the USA.
Hi. ive recently unlocked my galaxy s2x (t989D) from telus so that i can switch to mobilicity and when i unlocked it i found that with my mobilicity sim in the phone it takes a while for the phone to acquire a signal from when its been restarted or turned off , opposed to the telus sim which gets a signal almost instantly. just wanna see if anyone else has the problem or if there is a resolution to the problem . thanks

It could be your ROM that your running UK know on some ROMs the data is switched off when the screen turns off

Could be on the right track but its not just the data. Its all services. For about five minutes every time i restart my phone. I also have all the APN settings set specifically for the provider . It could just be the ROM. Or that the phone is originally meant for telus

I've been using an S4 for about 2 weeks now, no problem. Last night I realized a text I sent never went through, and today my lock screen says "No Service" or "Searching" (despite the device showing full signal). I can't send/receive calls or texts, and I don't use a data connection. This SIM is also new (~2 weeks), and the device is neither rooted nor running a custom ROM. I've tried everything I could think of, like:
reboot
pull battery and SIM
confirmed APN settings on t-mobile site
tried alternate, non-"LTE" APN (epc tmobile com)
tried every network mode setting (GSM, GSM/WCDMA, etc.)
reset APN to default
turned on mobile data connection
manually scanned for networks (wouldn't connect to AT&T or T-mo)
select network automatically (wouldn't connect)
complete factory reset
I tried my SIM in another T-mo phone and it works; tried a different SIM in my S4 and it doesn't work. All other T-mo phones in my household are working fine. My S4 is definitely the problem here, but I don't see how the radio would just stop working after 2 weeks.
Has anyone else experienced/seen this? I never have, and it's driving me up a wall. I'm going to try my local T-mo store tomorrow, but I was hoping to fix it before then. Any help is greatly appreciated.
EDIT: I purchased the phone new on ebay. For a minute I thought the seller might have reported the phone stolen, but I checked the IMEI and it's clean.
Ive experience this but my service came back in about 25 minutes I did reset reboot battery pull sim pull it just came back on its own
Unrooted Samsung Galaxy S4 Up and Running
Rooted Mytouch 4G Slide retired
Rooted T-Mobile Sidekick Touch Obliterated
Rooted Mytouch 3G Slide Lost
Rooted T-Mobile G1 Dead
So I finally got to T-mobile today. Unfortunately, my hunch was right: the IMEI is blacklisted. Their in-house system must be more up to date than their web IMEI checker.
Time to solve this issue elsewhere.
ok. i have a galaxy s2 from tmobile. i unlocked and rooted this phone.first i unlocked it with straight talk att sim. changed apn settins and data worked. bought the phone for 100$. when i tried to make calls i could not. i get a brief 1-2 second peak at signal meter then its replaced by a circle with line through it. i called tmobile and they said the imei was clean and clear. heres whats funny. the data works! i can surf and download big files yet cannot make phone calls. im rooted and no signal yet when i put sim in other phone it works flawlessly. i need this fixed quickly if possible.
Try different ROMs ( preferably stable ones ) or radios. I had working data and calls but no texts when I started using AIO after using the free unlock on the forums. Switching to AOKP milestone 2 fixed my issues. If that doesn't help, I don't know what would. :-\
