I did search and find threads about this, but they didn't answer the question so I thought I'd post again.
I'd like to mod the softkeys, but I don't want to ditch stock because I want to use Jelly Bean when it get's here and not go through the hassle of new roms and reloading data, ect.
I found some old mods from back in Jan/Feb, but I'm not sure if they would still work on 4.0.4.

Still searching! Thanks in advance ^_^

Also I have Metamorph Installed and I am trying to use that also , Assuming that is the easiest way? THanks!
Hey man, I just recently rooted, installed a rom, kernel and themed my phone. So i was in the same position a couple of days ago
If your read around here the main thing you will see when doing something to your phone is making sure you have a Nandroid back up. The link below will show you how to create one and it gives you some other helpful advice. That post really made me confident on moving forward with my rooting experience.

Follow these steps to the T. It will save u just in case something goes wrong.
Once you follow those steps you can move forward to selecting a ROM which will change your phones layout also making it possible to flash a theme.
ROMS

Hope this helps.
oh sick, sorry for the late reply! what rom did you choose? Yea i did nandroid back up right away when i rooted a few months back, always been iffy on ROM's but i am about to say f it and just go all out!
i tred asking this in the hurricane thread but its so cluttered with questions and didnt get a response so ill ask here.
I flashed the 1.6 hurricane rom and mods and everything is running smoothly finally but ijust realized I dont have voicemail. not sure if it was added in the rom or optional package but any idea what apks I would need? Either on the option add-on zip or the kevo rom itself?
Id rather not have to reflash the rom again and add everything one by one since I got things working soo smoothly
Hello, i just have a couple questions about my phone.
I flashed over to ACS ICS and i tried a few different roms. my issue is that no matter what rom i flash to every theme changed but the dialer/contacts are always stock.
could it be the launcher it comes with? I just don't want to use Go Contacts.
Any help would be great!
any theme you flash has to be ei22 compatible (you mean ACS ICS v4 right?)
Otherwise you'll have alot of issues.
There are not many themes out yet because of how new ei22 is, but there are some, and more coming.
After re reading your post, I see what you mean, but the same rule will apply, from what I understand anyway.
On the stock rom? I know other roms allow this, but has anyone came up with a way to do it on stock?
No mods out there for this? I will donate some cash if someone could make one, or be very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction to try to make one myself.
most of the ROMS will give you the option to do this.

Yeah I know...I am looking for a mod so I can remove it from the stock rom...
Nova Launcher will do this for you on stock rom.
Yeah Im looking for a mod though, I prefer the stock launcher.
Well first off you won't find any mods for a "stock" rom. You need to be running a deodexed rom to be able to flash edited apk's. And I scanned the sprint section and didn't see a deodexed rom so even if you wanted to try to edit it yourself you would need to wait for someone to post one or deodex a system dump of your own and continue on editing to your liking.
Or just grow some big ones and flash a rom
good day.

I KNOW how frustrating it is...trust me, I do.
When people tell me exactly what I say "Hey, please don't mention _____. I know it works. I'd rather not."
But, honestly, flash a rom.
Not only will you have a BOAT LOAD of extra features...
But you can ignore them completely if you want.
Flash stock kernel/bootanimation...and you're back to that stock feel.
If you're worried about getting updates...you could always fastboot flash stock once 4.0.5 rolls out or whatever the next may be.
Thanks for the replies guys, I have already flashed four different roms..its not that Im scared I just prefer stock. I hated the stock rom on my old evo and had a different rom every week. I just really like this google phone as is (with the exception of not being able to remove the battery/clock )
So Ive been flashing different roms and getting a feel for things and I must say I love the different ways you can customize the notification bar with different battery icons and clock icons... My question is, is it possible to do this on the stock gingerbread rom? I went back to my stock rom from my back up and I Just wanted to know if its possible to flash these kind of things and also maybe flashing certain keyboards instead of downloading from the play store. So yea just wondering if its possible.
