I hope someone here in the great hive mind that is XDA. Has a fix for my issues.
I've recently flashed the Vicious JB for my toro plus (sprint) and its fantastic (minus the mms issue)
The issue I have is I got a voicemail today and I forgot to have my google voice installed and running. So sprints stock VM system caught it. When I dial in to listen to/clear it, it immediately says my feature code is not valid and then disconnects. So now I have a permanent VM icon in my tray and it makes me angry.
I don't care to listen to the VM, but I do want the icon gone and I don't want to have to do a factory reset. What can I do?

So your looking for a more permanent fix?
you could flash a sprint rom to get Visual Voicemail working, then clearing it. and reflashing your prefered rom.

I may not be understanding the problem but have you tried calling your own number from your cell?
On t-mobile this connects me to my voice mail.
Or you could call from another line and press * during your message.

Well you never said you knew that in your OP now did you.
After you reboot and if you go to the log and select one of your text messages or voice mail when you go back into log everything goes away except voice calls so looks like it may just be a glitch that will hopefully be fixed with a update, but maybe you know that already as well.

Something that drives me crazy is the call log. Idk if its a samsung or touchwiz thing, but I had the Epic last yr for a few months and never tried a laucher to see if it changes. Is there a way to get rid of every single call? If I were to get 7 calls in a row from the same person it shows it 7 times. Is there a way to just have it show once rather than having your call log show every calls incoming and outgoing from "Joe".

Yes you need a modded logsprovider.apk. Now that root is acheived I am sure many things will be coming soon. Hopefully CWM will be next.

I just installed root using the qbking77 latest method and now all of a sudden whenever I call a number (any number) it says I am not authorized. Any solutions? Thanks so much!

Why yes I am using Google Voice for my voicemail I believe. How did you solve your friend's problem? Thanks so much for the quick reply dude!
That's the funny part. I don't really know what he changed to get it to start in the first place but all I do know was we changed some setting on the computer it was much easier to use the website then the phone. It was driving me nuts because I was flashing a rom at the time and out of no where the phone stopped working to I brought his phone to work on it and it just started to work. So I guess I would start by turning of Google voicemail in the settings and then you might have to give it a few to start to work then you should be good to go.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
So you don't know which setting that he changed?
Nope we seemed to change them all but we ended up just disabling it at the end because he did not like Google voicemail anyway sorry I wish I new what would have really worked but all I do no is that Google voicemail was his problem at the end. sorry man but trust me that was the problem.

It should be under settings/phones,you would do this from the google voice website once you sign in online the settings are on the far right, the tool icon.
Soooo stupid. I chatted with Sprint customer service and anyone who is having this problem heed my words. They told me to take the battery out, wait for 30 seconds, and restart. At first I was like...your sh****ing me right, generic advice...really Sprint? Then I did it and voila, my phone could make phone calls again.

What i had to do was go into root explorer in my rom tool box and move the apk into my system apps, change the permissions, and run just a regular reboot and it works fine.

There are no galaxy s4 apps "for sprint" lol... just download the system dump, extract the APK file you want, put it on your phone (push into system/apps, set permissions, etc) and see if it works! Of course always make a backup before trying something new!
I'm sure it's an app that's causing this issue, buy I cant figure this out. My notifications keep resetting to silent some how. Mainly my email notification sounds and occasionally my text message sounds.
Anyone experience this too, or found the culprit?
Do you installed any battery saver app? If yes check the setting for this app and stop the "auto turn off sync"
or install an app called " auto sync" available in the store..

Yeah I was going to tell you to go check what was the last thing you installed last? That might b causing the problem your having! Fyi
Most of those battery app's are junk and don't really help you! That's why I learned with my Skyrocket, not to use unnecessary app's. I've tried everything with that phone. And over time you'll see what is good and what is junk!
So NOW if you want to clear out the audio setting!
Then go into setting, applications, All, setting, clear data, reboot into recovery and then wipe cache & dalvik and see if it's still happening. After you set up your audio sounds! Might b something that was, corrupt in the data causing it!

Clearing out your setting data, you don't need to b rooted to do that FYI.
And another thing if it's a real problem for you then do a FDR [factory data reset] and you should b good to go then.
I'll say search read and you'll find your answer!!

Hey, I found out the issue to this problem.. Not sure if it can be posted somewhere as "Fixed"...or maybe I should start another post with the original post inside it for reference??
I had my Ringtones/Notification sounds I downloaded from the web or created on my SD Memory card. I was using the sounds from there and not the device. I have now copied and pasted them into the Ringtone and Notification folders on my Device itself and they stay.
To test this, I used 2 different Google e-mail accounts and set 1 Ringtone/Notification sound from my Device and the other Gmail account to a Ringtone/Notification sound from my SD memory card. The one from my memory card kept changing to a 5 Digit number. The other one didn't..
I hope this helps others????
I just installed Wicked X rom (outstanding btw) on my wife's sprint s3. Visual voicemail loads and works with the exception of the transcription window. It's blank. I don't know if it's not transcribing or if it's possibly a font color issue. Is there a way to download just the voicemail app to see if that works?
I don't have enough credit to post in the wicked x thread.
Thanks !
