I just installed ics 8.2 and having difficulties in opening the gallery. keep getting error stating that no external storage available at the same time i could see my directories from my sd card loading behind the errror message.. i could play my music from my sd card via stock player and all.. any idea guys?
Use quickpic
Try clearing data and cache of Gallery app. No such issue for me.
Settings>Apps>All>Gallery>Clear Data & Clear Cache

First solution above – use Quicpick
Second one – try to clear Gallery's cache and data (using Applications manager) - it **may** help.
I didnt have any issues with gallery either in 8.2.
I'd tried clearing gallery data and cache still d same thing.. currently using Quickpic at the moment

I suggest you do a format of your SD card in recovery and then re-flash you ROM (no full wipe). That should definitely fix this. Copy everything off your SD card, format it in recovery, and put everything back. Delete com.android.gallery/com.android.gallery3d folders in the 'Android' folder in SD card.
Also run 'fix permissions' in recovery after doing this.

After rooting my phone and install leedroid's 2.2f i downloaded some widgets from the market, install them and everything worked perfect until i connected my device to the pc using usb drive to transfer some files. After that, widgets e.g. handcent sms unable to load. What might be the cause? If i install them again they will propably work. But i have to.do that each time i connect to the pc.
Phone: HTC Desire running leedroid.2.2f 4gb sd card with ext3 partition.

I think your sd-ext is mounted while you mount your sdcard (this should not be) maybe you have activated external install of apk and u use Froyoy App2SD AND Sdext?
Move the widgets to internal storage if yes this should solve the problem!
You might be correct. Should i uninstall apps 2 sd?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
No. That will make things worse.
Go to app settings and display all apps installed to sdcard then move them all to internal storage (which will put them on the sd-ext partition.) Should solve your problem.
As far as I know widgets have to be installed on internal memory

I moved all the applications that use widgets and the eidhets to the phone. Same problem. Thinking a full wipe..

Did You do a restart afterwards? Otherwise it is clear, that the widgets still don't show up....
Cheers
My phone is having issues with accessing the SD card.
When I open gallery or music, I get a message that says to insert SD card.
I can browse the card using a file manager however.
I have mounted/unmounted, removed, inserted, formatted and the card is till not recognized.

What ROM are you running?
Try Rescan Media
Description
Rescan Media is a simple app will rescan your mobile phone for new files that usually happens on a system re-boot.
It only calls the android media scanner.
Reboot into recovery and clear the cache and dalvik cache. That should fix it.

Sorry for being vague..
I'm running stock Verizon/HTC 2.3.3.
I have installed that app.
I wiped the caches.
I still get errors in Gallery and Music.
Try clearing each apps data?

I instaled 264 apps on my desire HD with Cyanogen mod 7.1. 3/4 on my sd card. When i restart my device, he crash after 30 secs and it always does since. I test without my SD, and he works and no crash. What's my problem? Maybe App 2 SD?
Probably. Not App2SD as such, but you might have moved an important app to the SD card, or the phone might be trying to start an app on boot which is on SD card, but your SD card might be too slow to read and that's causing the crash. Try this, put your SD card in a card reader and connect it to a computer, copy all the data off it to the computer and format it (Full format not quick format, 32kB cluster size). Then copy your data back to it. Now see if it works. If it does, it means there was a messed up filesystem on the SD card and the phone had problems reading it. If the problem still exists, try booting into recovery>wipe &format>wipe cache and dalvik cache, and reboot your phone. If it's still not solved, do a factory reset of CyanogenMod (or) reflash it (wipe boot, system, data, cache before that), redownload all your apps and set up your phone again. That's the last option but it's sure to make it work properly now. Next time, don't move any and every app to the SD card because CyanogenMod allows it. Some apps are supposed to be in the internal memory only.
Good luck!

Hi everyone
I have a problem with my Sd card not properly being seen by any Rom at the moment. I noticed it when I flashed the new virtuous sense 4 Rom, as I couldn't view any of my pictures in the gallery and also no music can be found in any music app.
I decided to return to my backed up Rom which was runny suprise and the same problem occurred even though I had no issues before back up. I also tried a couple of others too.
I always full wipe between roms and just wondered why this has happened, have I pressed something in recovery or is my Sd card faulty? I can view my old photos by using my file explorer and selecting view with gallery and also listen to music this way also by using the native music player.
Any advice would be handy before I buy a new Sd card and start all over again.
In settings/storage it still tells me how much space I have on the Sd card so I'm not sure what's happend.
Hope someone can help. Thanks in advance.

I posted a solution for this in another thread, it seems that this is a repeated question.
For those of you that encounter problems of having trouble finding your gallery and music, but yet those files are still in you SD card
Follow instructions below:
1. Plug your phone to your PC
2. Use the search function on your PC and search your SD card for ".nomedia"
3. Delete all
4. Reboot your phone
TADA!!!
Hi
Thanks for the info but didn't help. I searched and deleted all .nomedia files then reboot but no luck

Heck, I don't know. Did you make a backup of your whole sd card, format it, then transfer everything back?
Are there any .nomedia files in the sd card?

3. format SD card in rom n recovery
4. wipe cache in recovery
5. reboot
6. create a new folder in SD card n copy back the contents. i try to avoid copying the folder
7. search for nomedia files, mainly only found in whatsapp folder n clockworkmod folder. i deleted but everytime it just comes back
8. i have search for hidden folders n files too but no more nomedia files

Hey guys
My phone was running a little slow so i was cleaning up, i use Titanium Back up and i selected to delete user cache and data.
As soon as i done this my SD card is kind of playing up. the apps that i moved to the SD card using S2E are not showing, but when i go into my music player i can play songs on my SD card.
Any help would be appreciated
Mark
There's no point of movings apps to sd because the data is still on the phone which will fill up quickly, I suggest u make an sd partition.
