Hi, I got stuck in fastboot mode after typing some wrong stuff into the cmd. I typed fastboot boot *some rom*
then i realised i typed wrong then i closed the cmd.
After that i flashed the correct boot img, went to cmw and flash the rom.
Now i can't boot up, i keep getting stuck in fastboot mode. I tried clearing the cache and reinstalling everything again but it doesn't help. Then i tried to restore from my backup as well but i can't
Please help!
Edit: Fixed! i realised i did the most stupidiest of things. LOL. I flashed the zip which contains the files used to flash the boot img. Scared myself over flashing something wrong. hahaha, can't believe i did that.

how do u set up the fastboot files
Hi I did exactly the same noob thing, If you view my post further down, we pretty much wrote the same around the same time.
Could I ask how you fixed it please?
I downloaded the viperx 1.0.0.zip file. which i thought was the file to push over using the cmd.
But it was that i have to unzip the file, and open to file flash-boot-windows.bat to flash the boot.img.

Hello,
I have got a bit tired of waiting for the OTA volume fix and decided to tr and apply it manually.
I made a mistake and used the following command fastboot flash boot cwm.img.
now my nexus just boots into cwm is there any way I can fix this?
Now when I try to use fastboot it just keep saying (waiting for device), and the phone sits in CWM
any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Cthuluh

Excellent we have someone to test the script
You could just try flash the boot.img to the boot partition
Code:
fastboot boot boot.img
And if that works
Code:
fastboot flash boot.img
Hi,
I took the battery out for a few minutes and when I put it back in I booted it into fastboot, which it wouldnt do earlier (kept booting cwm).
I then used the instructions supplied in the google factory image download mentioned above.
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-maguro-primekj10.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-maguro-i9250xxkk1.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot -w update image-yakju-itl41d.zip
And all is now well.
lesson learned dont flash while drinking red wine.
Thanks again

I apologize if this is the wrong area, but my phone is hosed and i need help.
I tried installing clockwork recovery touch, and something went horribly wrong. Phone will not boot, however i can get into recovery, but none of my backups will restore.
I can also get to the bootloader, but any fastboot cmd i run says , error: cannot load 'xxxxxxxxxx.img.'
I tried odin, but it doeesnt recognize my phone.
I can see the phone when i do adb devices in recovery
and i can also see it when i do fastboot devices in bootloader mode.
can anyone help me?
thanks in advance.
the way to flash recovery is this
fastboot flash recovery location&nameofFile.img
so if you have the recovery image (and its named recovery) in your folder where fastboot.exe is, it would be: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
if you had the image somewhere else, say c:\downloads\, it would be fastboot flash recovery c:\downloads\recovery.img
Thank you, i have and can access recovery. that is it, phone will not boot, i need to some how flash an image, but when i do
fastboot flash bootloader xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.img or anything for that matter
i get: error cannot load 'xxxxxxxxxx.img'
Like Zepius said, do you have the image file in the same folder as fastboot? If not, are you including the full path to the image file, rather than just the image file's name?
yea im an idiot, i thought i unzipped the image there, but i didnt. your right the files wern;t there, flashing now PHWEEWWW
As title says, in last steps after unlocking device but won't let me flash "recovery.img" file
error: cannot load 'recovery.img': Unknown error is what it keeps showing me. Tried erasing cache already as well to no avail
Is the name of the recovery file recovery.img? Have you put the recovery.img file in your fastboot folder?
Make sure you enable extensions on filenames in windows before renaming a recovery to recovery.img because it will be named recovery.img.img !
Got that issue fixed but now when I try to boot the phone into recovery it just black screens me then normal boots back to the main screen. It's the latest version of cwm, but I couldn't get twrp to boot up either. So strange because I didn't really run into much trouble rooting my HTC One so I'm feeling really silly that I can't figure out what the issue here is. :'(
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Do
Fastboot erase cache
Then enter the recovery

sorry for the late reply just got home from work not too long ago, tried that and it starts like its going to boot into recovery and stays on the HTC screen for about 20 seconds then, goes to black and reboots back normally again. Think I need to just reinstall clockwork recovery again?

Yeah flash this recovery : https://www.dropbox.com/s/p35p0tqf41jbj8b/recovery.img
try naming the file recovery, delete the .img part, then type into cmd : fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
might not work but worked for me
Have completed rumrunner root for htc one.
Have installed twrp through adb using command prompt.
Then when trying to reboot system it boots up in recovery.
Need help to find out how to get back on my phone.
Have found similar sites with information but not clear enough for me to understand
I'm able to access twrp so i would assume it's a mount of the sd card but i am not seeing that option anywhere
twrp v 2.6.3.0
I know it's late guys thanks for your help!
if you ever get this issue please understand that there are websites out there that are making you use "fastboot flash boot blah.img" which is making you flash recovery on top of your boot img. please understand that you have overwritten something that is necessary for your phone to work so just open a rom you are preparing to flash and unzip. Copy the boot.img from the unzipped folder and move it to your fastboot folder where your going to open command prompt.
after you open command prompt in the same folder as your adb/fastboot/ and such using shift right click
you then type in the command prompt "fastboot flash boot boot.img" that should flash the boot image back and you should be able to turn on your phone.... wow that took a lot of stress but figured it out in the end. JUST HAD TO GET A GRIP! now happy flashing thanks!

Either the tutorial was completely written wrong, or you read them wrong. There's no way of telling which happened, but the point is to be very careful with fastboot.
The command "fastboot flash boot file.img" doesn't flash recovery in your boot partition unless you mis-labeled your .img file and flashed the wrong file in the wrong place.
Most people modding their phones are going to be using fasboot to flash to boot, recovery, system, or bootloader. It's important to understand all of the places that fastboot can flash before you start pushing in .img files. Understanding fastboot commands can also help you possibly identify if someone made a typo in their guides.
Want to put in recovery? "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img". Want to put in a new kernel? "fastboot flash boot boot.img", and so on. Ensure that you've got files that are properly named and you won't ever have to worry about flashing the wrong thing in the wrong place.

Jjust understand what you're flashing, you can't 100% trust a tutorial..
If you do the command, fastboot flash boot boot.img, you BEST DAMN be sure that is a kernel/boot.img you are flashing and make sure your working is right, if you fastboot flash a boot.img to say recovery.img, you are screwed.
make sure the file is right my MD5, also make sure the tutorial is good, messing with ANYTHING in fastboot is dangerous.
I was trying to root my Pixel 3a XL. All was going well, until I started to boot into the .img file from TWRP (please excuse any non-technical language). Now after trouble with it I found out that TWRP seems to not work with the Pixel, but not before I tried running ./fastboot flash boot <file>.img
The command went through, and now I'm stuck in a fastboot loop. I try to fastboot reboot to no result, I tried locking and unlocking, I tried restarting phone through power button, and none of these work. I managed to get into the Recovery Mode by running the flash-all.bat file and removing -w from the update part, which according to some guide should've helped me get into the stock Android.
I understand I'm being very vague, but it's hard to remember all that I did, but I will provide any info that may be needed. Thank you, please save my phone :crying:
Stop messing with TWRP. Doesn't work.
Did you extract boot.img from the factory image? Then patch it with Magisk? Then copy it back to your PC? Then run fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img ?
Managed to figure it out, wasn't running the .bat file all the way through, silly mistake. Thanks for reply though.
