I am looking for suggestions for which ROM I should install to have best results on dpi 200 or below...
Currently I have darkside v7 and changed the dpi to 200, but not all apps are looking good. For e.g. dialer, calculator clock widget etc...

I believe the cut off is 185-190. Then you can download a modded phone apk that works. I don't have a link as I stay at 200. If you are on touchwiz you want a replacement dialer from the play Store. Dialer ex works well and has many themes.

Guys if you want an asop experience just flash racers tw port and adb push Apex Launcher into /system/app and remove tw launcher. Runs as good as it's gonna get with m&s's blaze modems and all the other hotfixes at least till t-mo drops 4.0.3 or the ril gets fixed on this.

No problem, battery life isn't that great right now because we don't have a t989 kernel but its def usable until we get a stable rc candidate.

I havent tried the romracer kernel but the unsecure mohan_kr kernel has booted up fine for me. I am really meticulous about clearing caches and superwiping though.
i hope some 1 gets a working aosp kernal down so we canfi have a nice vanilla ics fw

It works but battery life isn't where it should be until we get a better kernel. I'm pulling quadrants of 3900-4200 with this setup.

I thought pushing these 3rd party launchers to the system/app was having the side effect of being slightly unstable? Is the payoff really that much better having it as a system app?

Hi!
Does someone know how to add CM7 features like the lockscreen styles on STOCK rom?
Thanks!
I think you can't do this. But you have some apps that let you personalize your lockscreen.
It's possible! I saw that on Emanon v5 ROM for galaxy mini..

UOT kitchen or CM7 kitchen?
Uot
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
I've tried but I can't get the CM7 Ring lockstyle
UOT just themes the different lockscreens... they must be present in the ROM in the first place.
Ontopic, to have cyanogen features on stock rom, I think there are some stuff that must be built from source (like settings, framework), taking care not to break existing framework and apps from stock rom, meaning you should compile just bits and pieces and somehow merge it in the stock files.
Another way would be carefull porting by studying resource and smali for all files affected by a certain mod.
Thanks for the explanation
BNC-rom was a stock rom with cm7 features, but it's over at giocommunity now....

Have you took care to port only lockscreen related code and files (not all differences between stock and cyanogen framework and apk's are extra features)? Not doing so may cause bugs, because there are some differences between how samsung built the frameworks and the aosp ones...
Anyway, nice job! As you may know, I was working also on porting the lockscreens for my rom, but gave up due to lack of time...
I've been running at 206 as I prefer the way things look, however, I recognize most apps work best with either stock, or 160.
Has anyone discovered a setting other than 240 or 160 that also provides excellent compatibility?
Thanks!

I usually use 190 because it has been my experience that is doesn't mess with the applications quite as much as other levels.

I used to run at 200, basically so the status bar isn't tiny but still gives me more space.
Speaking of, anyone know how i can change DPI in a TW ROM?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
When I'm running anything other than a tabUI modded build, I run at 190. But I honestly like the tabUI more than anything and I try and run 128 as much as possible..
Whenever there is an update for an app that won't show in that dpi, I'll just change back to 240, update and change back..

He sets it to 128 so tablet mode is initiated. Its small, but you can change the font size. Check out tablet UI mode. I think its in themes and apps. Its pretty sweet. You also may want to check out paranoid android.

Been used to AOSP CM 10.1 lately with 241DPI. But i've got tired of bugs and I want to switch back to Sammy. Problem is that most Sammy ROM's are 320DPI which is terrible for eyes which got used to lower DPI.
Is there any ROM that runs @ 241 DPI without alignment problems?
Or any way I can set DPI @ 241 on a Sammy ROM and still choose 320DPI for some incompatible apps?
Check out my guide.

Yes I think Alliance ROM should be good. I remember using it and reducing the DPI to 240 and there weren't any alignment problems.

Hi...i just want to know which is the best Note II 240 DPI ROM? or it doesent have to be 240 dpi...anything lower than 320 will be ok.
THANKS
Well 240 is supported by the Play Store.
Unless you are using a PA based ROM with Hybrid, then you could set the apps to anything and just the Play Store to 240.

i think you dont understand me...i am looking for entire ROM based on 240 or 280 DPI so i dont have to mess with xposed or something like that a flas keyboard etc...Like there is a Slim Bean ROM its based on 240 DPI and thats it..

Yes that's why I suggested Slim beans as it already comes default at 240-241DP. If you want a stock based ROM then check into Alliance ROM or Phoenix, I'm not saying they come default 240, but they've been modified to support 240 DPI so you would not encounter any issues with the layouts. Personally, I think with xposed installer readily available most developers would rather keep their roms at default 320dpi unless it was a port from a tablet.
