Work around for asop 4.0.3 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Guys if you want an asop experience just flash racers tw port and adb push Apex Launcher into /system/app and remove tw launcher. Runs as good as it's gonna get with m&s's blaze modems and all the other hotfixes at least till t-mo drops 4.0.3 or the ril gets fixed on this.

thanks i might have to try that i honestly can't stand ICS flavored with TW

No problem, battery life isn't that great right now because we don't have a t989 kernel but its def usable until we get a stable rc candidate.

I havent tried the romracer kernel but the unsecure mohan_kr kernel has booted up fine for me. I am really meticulous about clearing caches and superwiping though.

i hope some 1 gets a working aosp kernal down so we canfi have a nice vanilla ics fw

So does this work? Or april fools joke?

It works but battery life isn't where it should be until we get a better kernel. I'm pulling quadrants of 3900-4200 with this setup.

I thought pushing these 3rd party launchers to the system/app was having the side effect of being slightly unstable? Is the payoff really that much better having it as a system app?

(mod) ics,rudolf,flyin animations for samsung based roms}

Here are a few animations specifically based off jugs, i would backup just incase. if anyone has any other requests let me know ill try to fit them in and also if this belongs in the themes section let me know we will get it moved.
like I said I am running jugs and am running alexias theme with them if that somehow interferes which i think it might i will make separate zips just for jugs alone, only one way to find out.... and give feedback. remember make a backup!!! before flashing these it is mainly based off jugs framework. Also wipe cache and dalvik cache then flash in cwm.
disclaimer: I am not responsible if your phone blows up or turns into the hulk, have a good day.
Edit: 2-11 try theses i didnt rename these so this might work the first one is ics ending in 57-1
the second one is rudolf animations these are really cool, ending in 33-1
the third is fly in animations these are pretty decent, ending in 34-1
Has anyone tried this yet? Confirmed working?

I was thinking that would happen even tho macnut is based off jugs. I am running jugs with alexias theme. So im guessing the framework is different if one of u guys that arent running a theme on macnut want to post your framework-res.apk , twframework-res.apk , and systemui.apk i can make one for macnut specifically. U can find the framework apks in root explorer go to system then framework. Then for the systemui apk go to system apps. Ill make them in uot its pretty kickass. Has anyone tried these running jugs and alexias sensation theme? That is what i am running

Yea i did it with alexias sensation theme too. Does anyone know an easy way to get zip files to xda from phone or computer because the way i am doing it is such a pain and have to rename it and corwest i know when there is a theme now (just figured this out ) it changes framework so this might only work wit jugs and sensation theme. If that is the case i can make more no problem ill just have to do certain requests and alot of flashing. U should try it with alexias newest sensation theme for jugs. See what happens. That is if u want to and made a backup or have one. U should be good tho. And if anyone can help me on getting zip files on to here easily that be great i think maybe me renaming them might have did something not sure
I'm running the same setup and getting installation aborted as well.

just reflash the rom, wipe cache and dalvik and reflash rom and kernel if u are using one, u will keep your apps and everything will be the same essentially you are just restoring that roms framework..... so wipe cach and dalvik cache if u need to restore then reflash rom do not wipe data!. easiest way i think.... anyways i have always wanted some kind of animations on my phone from having them on cm so i started messing with uot. next mission is to get the transitions from ics when u go from portrait to landscape anyone have any other requests??? there is flyin, bounce, we have ics and rudolf. and there is fold. just let me know what rom u are on and if there is a theme

Might be different framework are u sure when u go into settings or click on a persons name in messaging app u dont see them? I know jugs and macnut are similar but eugene might have changed the fw out a little to make his mods compatible ......i would have to take the fw from his rom and upload onto uot and compile the animations

Theme Chooser flashable zip and odexing tool.

Yeah I'm looking for a Theme Chooser flashable zip for JB, and Odexing tool for JB as well.
I saw BAMF Paradigm has the theme chooser but I really don't like that ROM, I want to theme any JB ROM that's AOSP. For that I need a zip.
As for Odexing, I found an apk that is supposed to do that but it never does, I just get stuck at the boot screen forever after using it (ICS & JB)
So if anyone can help wit this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks all

As far as I know, can't be done. The theme choose requires modifications to the framework as well, its not just an APK that's flashable. At least that is how it was explained to me back in the CM7 days

BAMF is an awesome ROM. The problem with the screen waking is possibly superSU granting an app root access. Its usually a toast pop up saying that an interactive shell has been granted. At least it was for me. You can turn the notification off in the superSU settings. Use BAMF and donate to the adrynalyne retirement fund

Features
First off, thanks for the hard work to all developers that have made fk23 available to the community.
Been running fk09 (thanks dan) w/fk23 modem and kernel. I saw this and said f YEAH! After flashing successfully on the first try and began playing with it, I noticed some differences of course between the two.
fk09:
1. In app drawer, continuous scroll was possible but not in fk23 and ways to arrange order is missing.
2. Long press on home screen gives options to add apps/widgets or change wallpaper on home screen/lock screen or both.
3. When pressing settings on bottom left of phone, missing other options.
If I'm missing something here on how to do these thing please advise because I love the theme that has been applied so far and am looking forward to the update.
TIA
On another note, I love the other features that this has that fk09 doesn't e.g. keyboard, gallery, the BOOT SOUND that almost made me spew my drink, etc.
Thanks again for your work and look forward to the future.

Opinions on 4.2

Does anyone truly like it? I find the extra page for toggles to be an annoyance to get to, and requires extra time. It just looks nice. The lock-screen also defeats all purpose of having a lock screen, and removes useful shortcuts (I know these can be added in through some cm or aokp builds but still). I didn't think it was possible for a new android version to really take a step back in terms of functionality but 4.2 really did. Scrolling isn't nearly as good as it was in 4.1 as well. But this is all my opinion, I'm interested to hear what you guys think. I'm looking to drop back to 4.1, and I'm hoping key lime pie gets rid of lock-screen widgets
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Yes I like it. And a few milliseconds don't hurt. I don't think android took steps back, it took 3+ steps ahead.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
I like it.. Looks pretty good.
Although, I do agree somewhat with the lockscreen. When I had messages as one of the pages on the lockscreen, I wish I could just text them from there. But instead, you press it and it goes to the messaging app instead.
Agreed. With lockscreen and toggles. If I remember correctly though, pure AOSP that ships on nexus devices prior to 4.2 didn't have toggles. That's a luxury that was only afforded to root users. So really it was a step forward.
In my opinion though, they should have implemented CM's toggles and called it good.

I'm getting 3.5 or so screen time consistently with black bean. I'm actually getting better battery life than ICS out the box and with the same installed apps. Smooth performance too.
