[Q] TouchWiz UI on Jelly Bean? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

The only thing I miss from Jelly Bean is the SIII TouchWiz launcher. Anybody know how to get that working on a Jelly Bean 4.1 installation?

Buy an S3 and then wait for samsung to update it?

Sent from HTC One X Quad Core Awesomeness with Cyanogenmod 9.

I feel bad to admit but I prefere tw5 over apex or nova. The folder option is too useful for me in tw5. Tw5 is not perfect also, i wish it had number indicator for new sms in Messages icon.

I got a gnex to get away from tw

You could always install a launcher similar to TouchWiz but you would never get a full TouchWiz until someone develops something like a ROM for the Galaxy Nexus similar to the Nature UX TouchWiz from the S3
It's funny how you would want TouchWiz since people get the Galaxy Nexus for the pure stock google and for fast updates xD Not to have custom interfaces like sense and touchwiz. And if you get bored with the stock interface you could always get a new launcher/ROM

lol. I'm TouchWiz fan as well here. It would be nice to have a TouchWiz rom. More choice for us

Touchwiz is by far the ugliest UI ever.
Sense is the most bloated and heavy UI.
MIUI makes one feel retarded, much like owning an iDevice.
Motoblur is just after Touchwiz in ugliness.
Stock android is the way to go. Otherwise, buy a device with the respective UI preinstalled.

The thing I really miss is the Acuweather widget for the home screen. I like Jelly Bean for everything else. I really like having the simple clock and the customized weather backdrop.

Kkkkkkk lol :what:
Sorry... tw is maded by samsung , its not the stock android launcher...

This is what I was looking for, the light add-on adding the Weather widget:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1669190

There's only one thing kinda worthy of "trashing" the Nexus brand purpose.
Sense 4. That's it.

Why would you want it? touchwizx is disgusting, ugly as hell, i got a nexus to get away from touchwiz, it almost ruined the galaxy s ii

The SIII Accuweather widget is my favorite, and part of the charm of the Galaxy Nexus is the ability to choose what you like to put on it. I like a combination of the buttery smoothness of Jelly Bean with the SIII Accuweather widget.

I can't blame anyone wanting an OEM launcher.
Although the Nexus is designed for stock experience, it's also the best phone for variety, I'd rather have choices than none at all.

Tounchwiz

Just asking is there a jb Rom with tounchwiz in the Rom?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Sorry, gotta say it, but Tounchwiz?
TOUCHWIZ.
You won't find it anywhere.
Most people who are on the Nexus cannot stand OEM skins.
Also, no JB with Touchwiz ROMs except maybe on the SGS3 but I'm not even sure, I doubt it.
Thanks for that helpful information .

Nexus devices are then only ones with Jelly Bean. Even the S3 doesn't have it yet.

This might resemble what you want.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1669190
I recommend you get a Galaxy S3 if you like TouchWiz. Nexus devices use pure Android OS without the bloats.
This custom TW Launcher only work for Gingerbread for now, but you can follow its progress to see if it gets support for new version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1061883
Also you can download Cyanogenmod TouchWiz theme: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thomassafca.theme.touchwiz&feature=search_result
sense, touchwiz, motoblur all unnecessary junk. Wish more manufacturers would use vanilla android, but that's why I got a nexus.

Thats true!
i find it ironic that ppl with touchwiz devices cant wait to flash aosp roms..and you a nexus user wants touchwiz. well to each their own.
i think there is a s3 add on that gives makes your phone like the s3 with touchwiz..you might wanna give that a try

What would be harder to do?

I was wondering what would be harder to port...............Touchwiz, Sense, or Aplications Platform(Motorola)?
I'm no expert on this topic but sense would most likely be the hardest to port. As for easiest I have no idea
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Yeah I'm liking how Motorola is going and I like the way touchwiz looks but people get mad when I ask about a non-stock ROM on a Google device.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I'd say the Motorola I went to a Verizon store and played with the RAZR m. Widgets are nice and overall u.I. was smooth. Was ICS BTW... sense would be amazing and maybe stutter proof ( we do have a beast of a phone)

There's a guy in the dev section who has been working on the ports , still not mega stable so they all look like a pain. Give him a message am sure he has more info

NO offense but IMO, Holo is the prettiest launcher so far. Nothing can replace Holo on a GNex.
But looking at the progresses, sense seems to be the most easiest (or most worked on) so far cuz months ago i saw TW ports and Sense ports but nowadays i only see Sense ports.

[Q][REQ] Touchwiz 4.0 ICS

Is it possible to port touchwiz 4 ics from the galaxy s 2
I saw it on the nexus s 4G. I hate touchwiz 3.0 GB and our phones don't have official touchwiz 4.0 ics. I wish I could do it but I'm not a developer.........Yet. :sly:

well if its on the ns4g its portable to our phone, to get it booting you have to change bootclasspaths in the kernel and add our proprietary files(its not THAT easy, but its how its done)

Only way to take advantage of the N2 is to stick with Touchwiz?

I currently have a Galaxy Nexus and was going to get a Nexus 4 but after reports of not so great battery, I'm thinking about going with a Note 2 instead. I had a Galaxy S2 with Touchwiz and did not like the look of it at all, it was just so basic. Problem solved after I rooted and installed a custom ROM on there.
However with the Note 2, from what I've read, a lot of features will be forfeited by leaving Touchwiz. I'm using AOKP with my Galaxy Nexus and like all the added tweaks and will find it hard to leave them.

with a quad core and 2gb of ram I don't have any issues just running apex (or another launcher) over touchwiz launcher. Get most of the TW tweaks with a better launcher.
Agreed with using launchers. Ive used the s2, s3 and now the note2 with nova and love it. Love the gestures as well. Cant get much better imo

Totally agree. I am using Go Launcher and couldn't be happier. I think most people grab roms because they have a tweaked launcher... but I can't understand what I am missing by not doing so, other than multi-window. I would rather wait for multi window and have the rest of the phone work than the other way around.

Touchwiz port or rom?

Has anyone created a touch wiz port or rom.?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Yes. Its just in a super secret second development forum. That's why its not in the Development forum for your device.
Why in the world would anyone WANT touch wiz. I bought my gnex because i was sick of touchwiz

Always run every ROM than go back to blur too...
I always just OC, Supercharge, entitlement hotspot hack, remove bloat, deodex, init D, swap out system apps and I'm happy
Edit: Go back to blur when I had a bionic.
