JellyBean now has iPhone Emoji support in MMS!!!
Now all we need is for some one to upgrade the JB keyboard to have Emoji.
What's so awesome about Emoji?

CM9 has the ability to insert Emoji in the Messaging application. I'm sure someone will get around to it with 4.1 when it is officially released.

Really popular in Japan, Apple added it to iOS for Japanese users and it was enabled through apps that require jailbreaking in non-Japanese devices and became rather popular from what I understand. They're kind of amusing and fun to use occasionally.

Well emoji is just Japanese for emoticon. Android has always had emoticons built in, albeit Android themed ones. What's so special about the standard Japanese ones?
Maybe I don't understand cause I don't really use them at all...I usually use the simple =D =P kind of ones or try to creatively word my sentences to put emotion in it.
Well Now they are iPhone compatible so you can send them to and from iPhones and there are many more then android.

ah, so there's no way to send them from the stock keyboard yet without 3rd party support? a bit lame.
yea but hope fully that will be fixed soon
You can by going in they keyboard settings and downloading the emoji dictionary. Then when you type stuff like sun, star, heart, smile the icon shows up.
3rd party SMS apps such as chompsms, go sms, handcent have had emoji support for awhile now.
They leave a lot to be desired.

The emoji support this has isn't the same as the iPhone. My wife has an iPhone (I know, I married her before I knew her phone preferences) and I can't see any of her emoji. She can however see mine as some kind of greyscale, dumb downed version.

Therefore I'm struggling to text precisely.
Anybody could recommend a keyboard that is:
- the most precise for fat fingers
- does the job the old input way(no swype, or wierd layouts)
- doesn't take 99% of the screen.
- no text prediction help.
I was using swiftkey so far, and it slowly learns my "style", but still I have to all the time choose the right word if I mistype something.
I know I might ask a lot, but all I need really just an accurate keyboard!
Thanks for any suggestion!
I am using Scandinavian Keyboard ( Download from Market ) and using HTC Skin for it ( You can choose it when you have Installed Scandinavian Keyboard )..... and those letters are pretty damn big

Yeah, but if you go to "Settings > Locale and text > Scandinavian Keyboard > Skin" and choose HTC.... you will get different skin and those letters are a little bigger, work perfect for me
But that suppose to be the same, only different skin. In that case the points you push are not changed at all!
Use a knife and sharpen those.
Sorry, had to.
How about "Thumb Keyboard" from market...in Landscape-Mode it could be the right one for you?!
...and now (after seeing you fingerfoto) i have to order a couple of Hot-Dogs because my stomach is making some strange noise!
Lol cheers guys, yeah those sausages are juicy sweet.
I got a heads up on thumb keyboard, but it has also wierd layout, I've just tried it today!
Sharpening fingers is not mad, it just messes up the display with blood.
So that's it, no more recommendations?
Htc Ime mod by jonasl, set it to Compact Qwerty.
Works for me.
Can't find it. Where is it?

LMGTHF made me smile lol, usually I'm the one sending it to ppl
I'll check it out tho, cheers.
It has extensive config options, I disable 90% of them (T9, auto spaces and stuff... it slows me down)
I really cant live without this kb.
Noo, unfortunately compact querty has problems with my language, and without prediction it slows down my typing
I came across a thumbs keyboards the other day but the name alludes me it looked quite good though

You can try typing in the fat finger in the iTunes store...this keyboard would be perfect for you, but you would have to check with the developers to see if it can be installed on the program you are having difficulty with.
Good luck,

There are many, many (and more to come) new featurs in 7.5 and I love them all!
But I miss something in WP 7.5 (7.10.7712.60):
(red marked)
1.
Was nice when listening to long audiofiles. (also on lockscreen)
WP7___________________________________________________WP7.5
2.
The "search website" features is missing
3.
Please MS, let us change the reload icon/button to the tabs or favorites icon/button!
4.
The Imagequality when uploading from picture hub to Facebook is horrible now!
5.
The colors have been renamed. i.a. limettengrün to lindgrün.
Some (all?) of them (I noticed it on limettengrün/limegreen) are less colorful
Do U miss more features from WP7.5 that was in 7?
6.
Several Members: Transparent lockscreen wallpapers gone (IMO this isn't a cut feature, some of us just used a glitch...)

I'm wondering if the transparent wallpaper "feature" was actually a bug that we just took advantage off. I noticed that the squares in various hubs, such as office and picture, no longer go transparent when I move from page to page like they did before mango.

Yeah man, they had to do something with Zune on the lockscreen, and it made it a huge mess. It's too bad, I did it to my friends focus and it looked beautiful. And I don't own a WP7 currently, so I will never get to enjoy it.
Maybe if we get a poll going, we could bring this to Microsoft's attention?

I have to agree about the browser. It's not a make or break problem for me, but is kind of annoying to have that extra step. I also wish they'd give IE a Forward/Back Button instead of using the hardware Back button. Would be nice for the URL to be on top & auto-hide, swipe down to show it in portrait & landscape. Make it thicker since it'd auto hide. Just my 2 cents on it.
Also, don't like them (MS) breaking homebrew native app (INTEROPSERVICES). That is a big deal for me. That's the main reason I'm not using the Beta2. The new features are nice, but the lack of homebrew kills it for me.

I am hoping to find a snap on BT keyboard to work with the Siii. I am a big email user and still struggling with the touch keyboard. My wife has one for her iPhone asnd I was wondering if anyone knew of one for the Galaxy. I would need it all the time but business trips with tons of emails wild be a lot easier with a keyboard
I highly recommend the swype keyboard built into the default Samsung keyboard. It takes like 1 min to learn. Trust me I used to BBM all day long and this is by far the easiest and fastest touch input method I've ever used, I can easily type 3-4 times faster than I used to even with physical kb. You can enable it in the input options under the Samsung keyboard it's called 'continuous input'.

I too would recommend a different keyboard than stock, but in my case, SwiftKey is better as I like to multi touch type, and swype is pretty unforgiving if you tap more than one spot at a time.
Since purchasing the gs iii, according to the stats, it has fixed over 2.5k of my typos!
I am a very heavy email user (corporate exchange and 3 of my own accounts as well).

Swype is cool.
Swiftkey is cool.
the default samsung keyboard and trace = stinks... terrible... horrible...
If you like to "peck" then you'll like Swiftkey more.... if you want to retrain yourself to swype -- Swype is awesome. I've got both installed, and I can easily type faster with EITHER compared to the default keyboard. I really like swype, but I find it more natural to PECK at the keyboard so right now I'm using Swiftkey
Another Swype user here, I've tried em all and they don't compare.....I can nearly Swype every message without looking at the screen.

I absolutely love Swype, but I have to say that something is super buggy in this latest version (or at least for the S3). Every time I type something wrong, or it gets the prediction wrong, if I try to tap the backspace to delete one letter at a time it jumps all over the place and starts deleting random parts of my sentence instead of sticking to the word I'm on.
Then, even if I try going back to the word I was originally trying to delete, it will STILL force me to delete all the other parts of my sentence before allowing me to properly delete the original word.
I'm with the OP.
I'd rather have a snap-on physical bluetooth keyboard. a nice big one just as big as the S III itself.
There are BT keyboards out there but they're small like the iPhone.
I've tried Swift and Swype. I couldn't get used to swype but I do LOOOOOVE SwiftKey. The Longpress numbers is awesome. I felt great paying for it. One of the few apps I've bought with such ease. Google should buy SwiftKey. Everyone here is right- the stock Samsung keyboard is crap. Especially the landscape one. At least try swiftkey first, though, since I don't think there are any keyboards or keyboard cases yet for S III although since it is so popular I imagine there might be one soon. But SwiftKey is a huge improvement on Samsung's keyboard.

A week or two ago I switched from a BlackBerry to a Samsung Galaxy S3. One of the features that I was used to with a BlackBerry for 5+ years was the red underlining of misspelled words that could be selected and presented with a bunch of choices for the correct spelling. I find the predictive text feature makes too many mistakes and slows me down too much when typing so I want to have this same functionality on my S3. I thought I would have that feature from reading this prior to making the switch:
The URL here states:
"To fix misspelled words more easily, Android 4.0 adds a spell-checker that locates and underlines errors and suggests replacement words. With one tap, you can choose from multiple spelling suggestions, delete a word, or add it to the dictionary. You can even tap to see replacement suggestions for words that are spelled correctly..."

This feature/option is absolutely no where to be found on my Telus S3. I have read that Samsung removed it, and that in order to get it back I have to do some crazy 'hacking' mentioned here. While I do have my S3 rooted (it was easy to root) doing what is suggested in the post above seems very difficult and risky... has anyone tried what is mentioned in this post or does anyone know of another way to get the 'red underlining' spell check feature on a Samsung S3? Something via a 3rd party keyboard would be fine with me, but I've tried 4 or 5 so far and none seem to have this feature.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Hmm, where can I find that? Is it under "Language and input"? Because under there I just have "Samsung Keyboard" and "Google voice typing" as Keyboards and input methods.
Grab the stock ICS android keyboard and use that instead of the samsung one. You can find it on the play store.
After that use the language settings to make it the default keyboard.

Correct, changing keyboard will not fix this. I can confirm it was not present in the Samsung S3 default firmware.
Now that I'm on CM10, it is there and working. I'm sure there's a few custom ROMs that have this feature enabled.
pretty stupid,
almost certain samsung's website lists spell checker as a feature
So CM10 is available for Telus SGH-I747M? Hmmm, I'm pretty new to the Android scene. I assume it's going to be a lot of work switching myself over to CM10... I wonder how well Light Flow would work on CM10 as well. Bah I guess I have a ton of reading to do.

It is available, but in a preview state. Lots of people using it as a daily driver, but there are still outstanding issues that could hold you back. Flashing it is not too difficult, just follow this for any ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
Not sure about Light Flow, never used it. But depending on what you're using it for, CM10 does in include a few more LED customization options over stock, notably color and pulse rate control on a per app basis.

CM10, at least, is nowhere near complete so it's hard to say what the final camera will include. The most recent update included a massive amount of camera improvements, and I'm sure there are more to come.
Burst mode is missing but I just confirmed that taking a picture while shooting a video works. Just have to tap the screen.
Any update on the status of spell check?
Is there no way to incorporate spell check into the Samsung Galaxy S3?
I've searched for hours trying to understand why there is no spell check on board the S3. Some people say it is a keyboard function, while other's say it is a ROM function. If it is a ROM function, can you please point me to a ROM which does have spell check. Thank you.

I could be wrong and this is my first post but with the telus carrier anyways the spell check is there but it's in a weird location. If you enable Predictive text which one of the options under the samsung keyboard settings and than actually click on predictive text you will get a whole pile of options which has spell check, word completion next word and all that stuff. First off, I searched before making this thread, but if there is anything wrong please move/delete this thread.
What is your preferred keyboard and why? Stock, swype, swift key, kii, touch pal, something else?
I like the google gesture keyboard but I feel that the predictions on swiftkey are much better. But the swiping on swift key is terrible for me, so my choice is stock.
predictions is the most important thing for me so swiftkey wins by far

GOOGLE keyboard all the way, always consistent, i have random problems with swiftkey, swype on swiftkey works good, but typing letter by letter is really really bad, i found a download for MINUUM and that keyboard has NO SWYPE only letter by letter and it works really well
if they add swype it would be a lot better
Kii keyboard. Combines the best of all worlds.

What do you mean you "found" a download for minuum? It is a paid keyboard, you know.

Jelly bean keyboard. I dont like auto correct, and i DO like big keys.
Swype
Always liked and used stock.
I use the stock one, but I haven't tried really hard any others.
Google stock is not that nice because to get the punctuation marks, we have to move to the punctuation icon section and search for it! :'(
I prefer cynogenmods aosp keyboard

You just hold period and then swipe to whichever punctuation mark you need.. and the rest you get by holding the key its on..
I likeds stock until I switched to swifttkey.. didnt like it at first but once I got used to it I can't go back to stock..

Cool!
Thanks
Minuum keyboard seems great. Only problem is that it doesn't support my language yet.

Stock google.
Simple and confortable for me
Tried out a lot of keyboards but keep coming back to swype.
SwiftKey is by far the best keyboard I've tried on android. One feature I miss however is text snippets (or what are they called again?)
By text snippets I mean automatic system that changes @@ to your email address or ha for home address etc.

SwiftKey X hands down
