[ROOT-TESTING] LG Optimus G

Hello,
I obtained a system dump off the AT&T unit, and I believe I have a workable root method for it. Needing a tester. Any volunteers with review/early units?

If you can get custom recovery, root, and all that jazz going on the Optimus g I will buy it and give you money. I have been sitting on my Inspire 4G until quad krait with really new and not just die shrunk adreno became available. Optimus g seems to be the ticket to turbo town if you can enable my scrubbing of at&t's bloatware and some aosp loving.

Assuming the recovery and boot image are signed, recovery could take a while. I'm not particularly worried about money.

Wow will the international and at & T and sprint versions all have the same development? Same ROMs etc.?
Any idea about the Optimus G having unlockable bootloader? Will get the device instantly.. Looks amazing

Wouldn't be too concerned about it

My upgrade with sprint is November 1, and their release date for the LG OG is Nov. 11, so as soon as I get mine, I'll help with root testing...

Roms will not be 100% compatible across the three. There will be a couple changes necessary such as kernel and radio drivers (ril) that would need to change,but for the most part, yes, development will be the same. If I get it, I can make flashable patches to run a rom from other variants.
As of now, lg says they won't unlock the bootloader and since its not out everywhere, no one has cracked it yet,but give it time and it will.

I opt'd not to post the root we got working at this time, until the US versions start to hit. The Korean variant already has a working root it seems.
Still looking for someone with the sprint variant...

Based on other LG hardware, yes I believe I may. I won't be receiving a unit I can risk a brick with until public release in the US happens

4.12没有root怎么提取啊···

The reason why we use english in XDA:
It's a "common ground" so that EVERYONE can understand. Either those who helps and those who get helped.
And understanding or being understood isn't just about the TS getting it's problem fixed, but also that if ANYONE who has the same issue will have a reference, a place where he can found what is already done to troubleshoot his issue.
I honnestly think that anyone who start a thread in a language that is not understood by all the XDAers is only showing a lack of respect for the others...

Or, because they simply don't know English. With the "mess" that this Optimus G is (different versions in different regions of the world), I can understand the frustration that there is. Why couldn't they release just one or two versions like the SGS3?

There always was an international version and a provider version of any phone.
The international version of the Optimus G still didnt out.
And SGS3 has like 4-5 different variations

they just want to know the rooting method for LGOG KR version on android 4.1.2
haven't got in touch with them yet,but I think they just don't know English,and without any malice definitely

fine,i won't post it on gfan,but i think,although foreign friends use japanese ,vietnamese or korean on gfan,we will be happy to see them.Many hands make work light.you shouldn't be stingy.and i say again: this is unconcerned with respect.

I am not a moderator, this is just my honest opinion and nothing more, but it's not about being patriotic but rather about the comunity and "netiquette".
And speaking english doesn't remove any of your heritage, it won't make you any less of a chinese just like it won't make me any less of a french canadian (which I am). It's just a matter of helping and being help in a common ground, where everyone can be understood and understand each others.
Anyway, don't make a fuss out of this, it's just my opinion.

f180 can't use egde for now.

most of the members here are using LTE(4G) or HSPA+(3G)...they've no idea about what EDGE(2.75G) means...

An op is essential imho. I wudnt flash this cause its somewhat crap, but cause i just dont know whats not workung if special gapps are used or how up to date it is. Which source was used and who has to be credited in op etc....no info just a link. Thats VERY SAD! The LGOG desperately need more devs!
Please op find someone with english skills and pimp up the op to attract more people.
Another question: is it possible to use the lg widgets? Is it possible to port them somehow to aosp/other launchers?

We don't need more devs,we need more users.you can have all the devs on the world,but without the feedback from the community,it's useless.at least here on E975 section,i don't think we are more than 50 users.look around and see who is posting,asking etc.50 is a generous number.damn lg for making so many incompatible version to eachother.this way they keep the community fragmented.

Yes it's true, but as stated above the OP's need more information and eye candy stuff (like screenshots).
In others sections we've the Developers/Modder's that don't speak English and they ask someone else to create the xda threads. I believe that ltelg could do the same.
