Network unlock advice Huawei U8180/Stockholm - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hey there guys,
Looking for a bit of advice on unlocking this phone. I think it's a pretty obscure one as only dead/unanswered threads on it. So I just need to unlock for other networks, it's on Orange. If there's no free way to unlcock it, would rooting/flashing a ROM do it?
Any help much appreciated. Pic attached.

Anyone?

Unlocking XDA IIi

I just bought the new XDA IIi from O2 in the UK. Is there any simple way of unlocking it so that I can use it with any SIM card I want?
Any information greatly appreciated!
..or can I still use the old unlocking tool for Xda II?
www.imei-check.co.uk
£20 via Paypal
Thanks for the tip.
Has anyone tried these guys? Are they reliable?
Does anybody know any other way of unlocking it? Like the old XdaUnlock-prgram which was a beauty?
Any info appreciated!
 This blows my mind. There was a lot of talk and tools for unlocking the XDA II, but concerning the IIi, almost complete silence? Is it too early? Is there really NOBODY who's unlocked their XDA IIi??
Does anybody know if they good guys who wrote the XDAUnlock tool may be developing one for the XDAIIi too?
Please some body tell about me for unlock O2 XDA IIi ...
Thanks

wooo!!! get my galaxy nexus tomorrow!!!

I know a lot of people post threads like this but I'm really excited and felt like sharing... tomorrow, my galaxy nexus will be coming in the mail!! I am really excited to mess around with it!! I'm coming from sprint but got tired of their horrible service and I'm hoping Verizon will live up to their name and provide better service..any app recommendations or tips on how to maximize my enjoyment with the nexus?? Thanks!
If your going to root it do so before anything else as unlocking the boot loader deletes everything. That's my only suggestion. Welcome to Verizon I'm loving my cell provider and my phone.

I agree with this. What I will add is that you should just unlock your bootloader right away. Even if you had no intention of doing so, it would save you a lot of headache if you happen to change your mind. For warranty purposes, locking the bootloader is just as easy as unlocking it.

+1 to unlocking bootloader before doing anything else.
why unlock the Gnex if you have no plans to do anything with it? To feel like a nerd?

Because Verizon never got a Galaxy S2 variant?

I'm waiting my galaxy nexus too and the first thing i wanna do is unlock the bootloader....should i backup something? i guess everything that come with the phone, should remain right? even eventually some photos and mp3 that are on the external (internal) storage?
Hopefully these are my last few days on my desire before my gnex arrives.

No. You unlock the bootloader so if the OP does decide to root, he can just root without losing his app data and then he can use Titanium Backup to backup/restore his data without losing everything because "fastboot oem unlock" will wipe all.
Good try at trolling for calling us "nerds" though.
I remember when I was this excited for mine to arrive in the mail. Its the best feeling ever when you see the fed ex truck roll up.
Make sure you unlock first things first so you won't lose your data if you do ever decide to root or anything and trust me you will eventually.
Also are tons of apps and mods for you to download when you get it. Volume+ is definitely one you need because of the weak stock speaker. Also, for the guy who is getting the unlocked GSM version you don't have to root to use wifi tether ... it will work right out of the box. If you guys have any questions just pm me and I'll do my best to help.

Once you unlock the bootloader, it resets your phone. That's why its best to unlock it from the moment you receive it because you won't have any personal files, pics, settings, etc.

How to use it properly:
1. rip it out of the box as fast as possible.
2. Take out the battery, and the usb cable.
3. Put the battery in the phone (this will take 5 minutes)
4. Fastboot oem unlock

[Q] Unlocking Rogers Note 2 without the code.

Hi guys,
i just bought a Rogers Note 2 from a local store in Toronto. The store unlocked it for me and its working on my Telus sim. However, They did not use the code method that i am familiar with.
The guy said that they unlock it by flashing it.
So what method is this? Should i be concerned? The note 2 does seem to be working fine.
They used this method which a fellow xda member figured out.

No flashing required either.

No problem. Yeah I think that was the case. Since this method was posted, I've seen mainstream online sites post the method and make reference to it.

Damn Got scammed. Is there a way to root this and unlock it, like this version? If so, can you link me?
How do I unlock it
forget unlocking. i'd be contacting the seller...
Its a fake phone man , contact the seller and demand a refund. Unlocking it and stuff is impossible as these Chinese phones have no development at all , try finding a phone with similar hardware z maybe that will help. .
ah right, I have seen methods to unlock these phones though. I have a giffgaff (O2) sim and it doesnt pick up any bars, I tried my EE sim and it picked it up. I dont think my phone is unlocked, is there a way to unlock it. Iv heard of SRSRoot is that the correct method?

Rooting and unlocking are two different things SRSRoot will probably root it but it won't unlock it.

Get your money back, if you paid with paypal contact the seller first and if he refuses do a charge back. Knock off phone's hardware is almost always terrible, which is why the price is so low. Even if you manage to root and install a custom ROM it will never be the same experience as having the actual S3 :\. Sorry to hear all this man.

I got a free L9 for t-mobile and I want to use it on AT&T, is there an easy unlock for these. I have searched but cannot find a real answer. My wife has the HTC First and it is a big pile of crap. Any help will be appreciated. If anyone can direct me to a post or some directions, you can close the thread.
Thanks!
