I rooted my galaxy nexus and it was stuck at the google screen with the unlock symbol for twenty minutes, so I pulled the battery and it won't turn on now. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.
Never mind, I put a new battery in it and it is now working

4.0.4 update has kind of broken my phone.
GSM Stock Galaxy Nexus on T-Mobile. No Root. Nothing done to software, firmware, recovery, etc. Bought new from Amazon.
Got the 4.0.4 update notification today. Was on 4.0.2.
Download and Update went fine until upon reboot:
"Android is upgrading...Optimizing application of 2 of 52"
Screen gets really bright, washes out, then goes black. Can't turn screen on after that.
I left it like that for 30 minutes and still couldn't turn the screen on.
Pulled the battery and rebooted. Same thing, stuck on 2 of 52.
Any advice on how to fix this? Please help, thanks!
So Just recently, I tried to install a new kernel on my galaxy nexus (maguro), and everything was going great until I saw that my phone was crashing when I overclocked it from 1.2 to 1.4 and then it wouldn't start, so I pulled the battery and put it back again, and after the boot animation, it just goes blank, almost like it shut off. So I unrooted it and locked it again, and then rooted it again fully, and it's the same problem. The only way I can get it to boot, is by pulling out the battery, connecting it to my computer, and then putting the battery in again, but as soon as I take out the usb cable sometimes it crashes right away, and sometimes it stays there for a couple of minutes and then it crashes. not sure whats going on. If anyone can help me please let me know, as I really want this phone to be fully functional again.
Thanks
Have you tried reflashing the stock images?

hello XDA Community.
this morning something terrible happened.
so i woke up,turned my Galaxy Nexus on and used it for about 3 minutes and suddenly the screen flashes with weird colors and the phone shuts down.
my first thoughts were that the phone has crashed and all i need to do is turn it back on.
i pressed the power button but the phone doesn't start, nothing happens not vibrations and nothing on the sceen.
i pulled out the battery for few secs and put it back in,same result nothing is happening and my Gnex is not starting.
i tried hard reset (power+Volume Down) with same results.
i'm running stock official android 4.3 and never rooted my phone and it's the GSM variant of the Gnex.
any help and thoughts are greatly appreciated.
Hello all, here is my story. I had a Verizon Galaxy Nexus with broken screen, recently I remove the screen totally and now I have it without screen. I tried to use a mhl cable to connect it to my monitor, but it did not boot since Android can't detect the touch screen and it won't boot.
After a long time of search I find a post from marpoz.blogspot.com/2013/05/boot-android-without-touchscreen.html , it says I can change a module parameter during the boot to make it work, but my situation is a little different since I didn't have my USB Debugging enabled, so I can't do that trick.
Dose anyone have any idea of how to do to make my Galaxy Nexus alive? Thanks.
