Hi guys!
Yeah, I know that everybody has his/her favourite rom, but I have a question. May wife has a Galaxy Y, and sometimes it makes weird things, so a I decided, to flash a new rom. (I have SGA, so I know something about flashing Samsung devices... )
What are your suggestions, guys?
I'm looking for a rom that's very close to stock look, very stable, but has good battery handling, and good performance. Is it too much? I hope no. Can you advise something? Maybe there's a modded stock rom, which has custom kernel, system format is ext4, and maybe has som tweak...
I need your help!
Creeds 2.0 is closest to stock, i suppose. But I would advise ChobitsDigitalis V2. Stable and good performance.
Sent from heaven!
Use stock & flash it with Merruk kernel, theme it wit go launcher or any other launcher that suit u (Play Store) & u still can add some tweak or apps to it

Arrrgh.... I (and my wife too) love TouchWiz... Yeah, you could say it's worse, than others, but I like it.
Don't you know which stock or custom roms have hungarian swype? (Okay, custom is easy: install swype beta.)
Maybe I will stick to stock , change kernel, make some UOT- mods, and hope that she'll like it...

Is it worth flashing custom ROM ?
Is there a lot of speed or tweek improvements ?
Is it better to have Sense rom or naked android?
What rom You can advise for flashing ?
And what criteria most important on choosing custom Rom ?
Thank You very very much for answers!

Here we go:
1. You are asking this question in THIS forum? You've got to be kidding
2. Yes
3. If you need sense and its widgets and apps, then stick with it. I don't like sense so i choose a faster rom without it.
4. This depends on your taste... I love DeFrost
5. Depends on your personal taste (battery, speed, appearance....)
1. Depends what you want to use your phone for
2. Yes, if you need them
3. I prefer Sense, don't like stock Android
4. I'm on stock FroYo for Sense (the official HTC 2.2 release)
5. Depends on what you want to use your phone for - my Quadrant score is 2nd only to the Nexus One 2.2+
Double-post rubbishness
yes it's much better....and rooted
just damn hard which to choose.

1. Yes, but only if you are aware and willing to accept the voiding of your warranty.
2. I haven't noticed any speed difference between rooted and non rooted, but obviously, you can 'tweak' the OS much more on rooted ROM.
3. I like Sense. Some love it, some hate it. See point 5 for further comment.
4. I use the first released and cleanest/least-modified rooted HTC 2.2 at... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741663
5. Personally, I want a rooted ROM with A2SD+/EXT support and nothing else changed from the official OTA.
P.S. no matter which ROM you go for, it's CRITICAL that you do a full-wipe, including Davlik cache, and that you also install the 5.09.00.20 Radio.
sorry, duplicate post
Thanks every one!! now i must to think what rom i want to flash
IMO the sense keyboard is much much better, dunno if you can get it on stock, never checked.

I tried SlideIT, didn't really take to it.
good evening all
i want to know is there theme for ( ROM Pays-ROM Defy v5.1 Froyo 3.4.3-11 )?!!
and how do I install it ?!!
thanks in advance
i think that I use rom not used a lot here ?!
my rom 5.1 and i want to know also
Pays rom it's the most used for beginners, i think (It was my first custom rom), because it have all apps that the normal users will need.
I don't think that there's a theme for it, but you can change your launcher, this will really change the look and fell of your phone (i'm using zend from barebones, you can try go launcher ex (reaaallly good), adw launcher, he launcher (simple, my second choice) and many others.
If you really are concerned about the visuals, try
http://modmymobile.com/forums/640-motorola-defy-roms/561387-rom-jboogie3-blurginger-4-9-2011-a.html
It's the best rom i have seen, beatiful. The only problem is that it's a Blur rom, so your system will be bloated with useless apps that will drain your memory, cpu and battery. But i think it's the best rom around, really, try this.
I'm using barebones 1.4 now, because i like my system clean, with only the apps that i use.
I just wanna know if there are any custom ROMs that are not bugged (I know that even official ROMs have plenty bugs) and can be used for daily usage.
If possible, is there a custom ROM that has/may contain:
1) Non-disturbing bugs. Bugs that doesn't bother and non-severe that may destroy my device.
2) Sleek black UI. Dark colored UI works, too.
3) Newbie-friendly.
Thanks again
try creeds v2 or chobits 1.6,
most if not all custom rom has some issues,
do a trial and error and see for yourself what ROM suits you best
Creeds rom
Creeds Rom 3.2 works great for me.. No bugs so far.. except for the signal icon.. (Something u can live with )
As I have said, I am a newbie. Well, I do know many procedures now, but I don't want to risk it.
@deathnotice01
Chobits 1.6? Is there a problem with 1.8 and 2? I almost flashed those, good thing I am still waiting for a stable one.
@Vikram3392
I need the signal bar. My home isn't the perfect place to get signal, so I look at in order for me to change position in order to get the perfect signal
Thanks anyway.
@All
I want to flash Chobits v2. Is it good to use? I don't plan to use any a2sd and other system related things. I just want a good ROM that fixes a lot of flaws from the stock and a ROM that supports init.d perfectly, as I want to use [email protected]' tweaks.

Chobits v2 is still new. But chobits v1.8 with merruk kernel will certainly satisfy your needs! Stable rom+tweaks!

I thought v2 was an improvement of 1.8. If it is, then new should be better, right?
sir the most stable rom you can get is modified stock ROM, in terms of stability and overall use
custom roms have their pros and cons in terms of speed, memory usage, etc
since you are a beginner try to remove bloatwares and ad some customizations, tweaks, etc..
you can also push apps to ROM to increase a little ur phone memory
the good thing about android is you can personalize based on your taste, so happy modding

You're right....but we need to wait for some more time, till we get lots of good feedback about v2....till then, i consider chobits v1.8 to be better...

Chobits v2, very stable..
If you can live with the dark themes its great
I wish he'd release one without the modded apps though..
most stable, fastest, reliable rom --> modified stock rom. with fine tune and good modification, odexed rom is always faster than deodexed rom.

Man so far i'v used-Creed's 2.0 and 3.1 CHOBITSDIGITALISV2 RELOADED(RAM about 230mb) and Termarom v2.0
THE BEST thing is Terma-fast,stable,RAM is about 150,160mb with all apps i use and its bug free believe me.
But UI is not dark
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1520167
just follow the steps(i'v instal this two times)and it whill be OK.
help me guys.. I dont know what to do now with my r800i fw 4.0.2.A.0.42.
I bought it yesterday and i rooted it already with unlockroot.exe.. I dont know what to do next..
First of all, what do you want?
Change the kernel, rom?
uhhm.. I want all the best possible customization that is perfect for my phone.. i want to have custom rom that contains all tweaks like overclocked, removed unneeded build-in apps where seen packed in stock roms, Sony Mobile Bravia Engine, Clear Audio, amazing UI, etc..
I dont have any idea about that kernel and CMW thing, and what it can do in phone...
In order to do the best customization, first of all you need to unlock the phone bootloader to change the kernel, this will make you able to do things like overclock. Then, search in Xperia Play Development forum a rom that has everything that you need and flash it =)
so i must unlock the bootloader first and change the kernel, then flash my preferred custom rom?
What about cmw?
Are there sacrifices in gaming performance when any of those things above were installed?
If you falsh a kernel like DoomKernel, CWM it's included
Nop, the gamming performance gets increased , the only "disadvantage" in gamming is when you flash an ICS Rom, most of games don't work on ICS (or work bad) and only one rom has full touchpad support
thanks so much bro!
Now i am enlightened a bit..
You're welcome
Ask again if you need something
Hi!
What is better:
The official Samsung stock ROM or a custom ROM? And if second one, which? CM?
I ask this cause I heard that custom ROMs don't have that much support for the S-Pen. And no Multi-Window.
go for stock firmware. I was custom rom flash addict but after i got note2, i choose stock firmware+custom kernel
Me too. In the past devices i go for custom rom for it speed which varies alot from stock. But on the sgn2 i no longer need that as its fast as it is. I just keep to deodexed stock rom with mods which suits my needs.

+1 for me.. Stock deodexed with a custom kernel to get faster charging etc, I see no need to overclock with a device this fast :good:
But don't forget to disable all the lame bloatware too.
Could you link me to that custom kernel?
Are there any downsides to the custom kernel? Faster charging sounds nice.
That heavily depends on what you want. If you like some of the Samsung-specific functionality like S-Pen, Quick Glance and so on, you want to stay stock or flash one of the nice and debloated custom ROMS based on stock. My favorite is HyperNote, but I think it doesn't meet all your requirements.
If you want it even faster and like the Cyanogen-specific style, try any of these ROMS (hint: HyperDroid).
But there is no "need" to make the stock faster, as with this kind of RAM and CPU power, everything will just work fine. Best to make a backup before flashing and just trying some ROMs on your own. Have fun
Just get a deodexed stock rom and you will have everything you need.
What devs do is change the roms and repack it for flashing.
And in my case half of them aren't exactly what I need or are useless.
You can apply all those mods to yours without any data loss
And it's fun

I've not experienced any downsides, plus it patches the Exynos bug. You are trusting someone other than Samsung to control the internals of your device, but Im happy with that. I do get a random reboots now and then, like once every couple of days but I suspect its unrelated, and I do like to tinker with my device. Phones these days are actually computers and do trip up every now and then.
I use the Perseus kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1927852
I really would't worry about it. If you don't find it useful you can just flash the stock kernel back, no halm done.
Stock rom and kernel are good. The note 2 doesn't need a rom to be more fast or stable.
But for me is important choose the application that runs on my phone as system app. So I need root privileges.
Then I found some roms that had stock things without a lot of S.h.i.t. that samsung have to put into our device for marketing purposes.
And so now for me is better a custom rom because you know what there is and what is running on at least.
Should be in the question section.
Stock custom rom.
It's usually updated to the latest Samsung version, can be modded and has loads of tweaks
Hi i use omega v10 with redpill kernal and every thing works fine battery live is amazing and the rom still has all stock feutures
