Hi all,
When i charge my gio, the battery temperature reaches 45 even 50 degrees, is that normal ?

I have the same problem when i charging and playing games

Yess... It is normal... Atleast till 45...but u shud keep in mind dat 50 can be a little higher... If it happens... There is not much u can do about it... But yes u can open the back cover or try to keep ur mobile in a cool nd dry place... But nothing much to worry as such....

Mine also tops at 50 while charging and playing so I guess it's fairly normal!

yep, happened to me too. but i think playing while charging is not recommended for the good of your battery life

Isn't it just a USB power plug ?
If so it will be surelly faster than charging from your PC but I wouldn't pay 17 dollars for it. I mean, it's identical to the s2 orignal charger only with a removable usb cabble right ?
That looks like the charger for my old Captivate. My SGS2 charger does not look like that. OEM chargers should be faster than generic chargers because Samsung hardware doesn't allow the generic ones to charge as fast.
Yeah you are right but why they have called it a Rapid charger ????

Okkkk buddy... Then why they have given it rapid tag...doesn't it stand for fast charging???

It looks like a scam!
if you have your samsung original charger a custom kernel you might want to change the USB voltage settings while charging.
The problem with fast charging it is because it reduce the battery life. Its cool to charge the phone fully in no time but in short-mid term it is not something you should do
doesnt harm the phone or battery???

Not on short term.
But if you do that everyday the battery will suffer and will loose effective power.
Also if you force an higher usb port voltage on the phone make sure you dont use a computer usb port as electrical issues may occurs.

The sgs2 doesn't even use the oem at full capacity (1000Mah) it only chages @ 450 Mah because of samsung's software limiting the input. Use a custom kernel such as siyah to enable faster charging @ 650 Mah which speeds up the charging to about 2-3hrs

mate the best cure for slow charging times is a desktop charger and a spare battery you can even take it to the next level and get
2x 2000mah batteries
1x genuine samsung desktop battery charger/stand
thats what i do and its so nice not having to wait the 3+ hours it takes from empty to max , i abuse the phone , then just swap batterys and put the empty one on charge
seriously samsung gave us a removeable battery and a micro sd slot something thats getting rare these days in high end phones so grab a spare battery and a memory card and make the most of them lmao
edit
i spent approx £50 on batterys and a charger from amazon and its the best thing i done i literally never have to have my phone plugged in at all
Mate..how much time desktop charger takes for 2000mh battery ????

2000 may official battery vs power Pack case

Is the 2000 mah battery good for gaming or its a better option the power Pack?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Battery
The thing is the powerpack was a huge problem for me, i would have to charge the devices seperately, get annoyed by the beepin of full battery (basically when you fone goes from 100% to 99% the powerpack will start chargeing, then it will stop, and then start again when you reach 99%). I also noticed a very bad heating problem with the phone when i used the powerpack
In my opinion get the 2000 mAH battery, but that again will only give you 1~2 hours more battery (again that depends on yout use)
hope that helps
Thanks! I went for the power Pack because the battery said it was for the I9100 and also said that it wouldn't work on the GT I9100 so... Let's see how it goes. Also I don't want the phone plugged to the power Pack always cause I don't like cases... I just want it for when I really need it! But a part of me still wants that battery but what if I buy it and doesn't work... =/

Happens to me too. Or if it does hit 100 it drops immediately to 99 the moment i take it off the charger.
Well It happened on my dad's E4GT too. But fascinate/OG Epic/Illusion/Evo 3d Which I own never did so!
Take a glass and fill it up with water until it overflows, think of this as your battery. Tip it just a little and you lose some, at which point you will not have 100% of the water anymore. The moment you take it off the charger, it would only make sense for it to immediately go to 99%

[Q] galaxy gio - please help .

I have a problem with my galaxy gio. 2 days ago i dropped in the water ( like 2 secs ) then i cleaned it. I let it overnight to dry , and the next day, when I tried to boot up my phone, it just shows an empty battery for like 2 sec. then it closes. I can't enter recovery or anything. Any ideas, please? i think you need a new battery

I think that it is the battery.
Whenever I (or someone I know) drop a phone in water, we make sure it's turned off, dip it in industrial alcohol and blowdry it softly with compress air.
All the more chance you remove all the minerals that are in the tapwater, which can produce oxide and break your phone later in.
Then we let it dry for a night.
Just a tip...
Also worked to revive a Blackberry which did a full cycle in a washingmachine
(doesn't always work but worth a try)

Bigger battery leading to bigger problems.

So i got the 10,000 mAh Zero Lemon attery and i LOVE it... i am currently at 4% battery and my phone has been off the charger for 5 days and 1 hour. its amazing.
but now i ran into a moderate issues.
when the phone stock battery hit 5% it was roughly at 160mAh and stops allowing the phone to do certain things like update my dropbox use the camera.. ect.
now when the phone is at 5% it is actually at 500mAh which is almost 16% on the stock battery and i should be able to use the camera.
technically if the battery low warning is to help protect the pgone in some way then i should be able to use my camera up untill the remaning battery on teh 10,000 mah battery reaches 1.6% battery.
i would like to just disable all battery limitations completely if that is possible.
any help would be awesome

It's gonna look like a h2 hummer anyways because of the case it comes with is an otterbox knockoff. It does a great job at protecting the phone though:thumbup:
