in JB if you send out a certain amount of texts in too quick a time (not sure what it is) the system keeps warning you and asking permission on every text you send after the limit has been reached, does anyone know how to turn it off?
just wanted to bump this... hope that its allowed but I was waiting for AOSP hoping maybe they would remove it after developer beta but the problem is still there anyone know how to disable the limit?

Guys!
Anyone knows how to change limit of sms per one conversation?
I mean i have like 3000 sms both in/out with my girlfriend and suddenly when new one comes, it starts a new thread and the old ones are hidden somewhere and i would like to continue in same thread.
Anyone?
Pls?
you are experiencing the same problem like me
I was very shocked when suddenly all my girlfriend's messages in threaded messaging lost.. The only way is to turn the threaded messaging off and go back to classic messaging..
Nooooooo there must be something, i belive that there is a magic somewhere in source called limit that wants to be changed to higher
I just need to know where
Same problem... Very iterested if you find a solution
Hi I've searched around in different Android sense areas and can't seem to find an answer so I'm asking it, please if I missed it point me in the right direction.
I have a new Droid Incredible, just switched over from a Touch Pro 2, and I love it except for the fact that SMS Recipients is capped at 10. On the WinMo phone you could go in a tweak the registry to allow however many you wanted. On Android is there a way to do this? I plan on rooting it so that won't be a problem if I need too. I've read to use Handcent (has been giving me annoying pop-ups) or ChompSMS but I'd prefer just be able to use Messages.
I dont have a sense rom anymore, but if I remember correctly, it's as simple as going into messages..pressing menu..pull up settings, and then think with storage settings. You should be able to adjust the limit per thread and conversation numbers. Let me know if I am delusional..but I'm pretty sure that's it.
I've found that and theres a place where I can limit the amount of sms and mms's however nothing about recipients anywhere Any other ideas?
Anyone else have ideas? I'm using Handcent but after I send one message it acts like my group is empty and I have to restart the phone. Chomp was sending double messages, are there any other programs or methods out there? The group has 58 members
Hello,
I realize the limit for a text message is 160 characters. I am not asking about changing that.
Currently when I get to 160 characters I just can't type anymore. I want to keep typing. I realize the phone will break the text and send as many messages as needed. I just don't want to have to stop and then submit another text message.
I think this is only happening on the Arrive phones if I am not mistaken. Does anyone know how to change that?

Might want to have someone else with NODO (non Arrive) test that also. I know this does not happen on a pre-NODO Samsung Focus.
Thanks for the reply. Let's see if anyone else with other kind of phone experiments this after NoDo.
Same exact problem here dude, it's driving me nuts!
I made a thread earlier today about it on the 7 Pro forums. My theory is that it's turned off because CDMA doesn't have a good track record with sending txts that have 160+ characters.
Potentially, we will hopefully get a fix to this as our OS version is 7.0.7389.0 and not the 7390 thats being pushed right now.
I really hope they fix this
7090 doesnt have the problem, at least my mozart doesnt have it...
Hello all
I didn't think I would have to resort to asking on xda, but does anyone know how to disable the 'peeking' feature for messging app. Im on open beta 9. On MM the setting was available. Now on Nougat its either you receive the messages notifications. Or you don't. I just find it unnecessary for texts messages to have to display the contents. Theres probably no way around this anymore but maybe someone knows something I dont.
Thank you
Hi I am hoping someone might have some ideas of how to address my problem.
I am on a stock S9 on AT&T. I have had it for about 9 months...but about a month ago I started having a very problematic issue where I occasionally just dont receive a text message from someone. Its not always from the same person, and its sometimes in group texts but sometimes not. Its sporadic but often enough that its very problematic because I sometimes miss important messages without realizing.
I have been using Textra. At first I thought perhaps the problem is with Textra. But I logged in to MyAT&T portal and you can see there a log of all texts you have sent and received - the missing texts are never even showing as having been sent to me from the user.
I havent had much success figuring out what the issue is although after researching, I have noticed that some people think the culprit may be AT&T's "Advanced Messaging" function and they advise disabling it.
So I am now doing that to see if it works. The problem there though is it can only be disabled from within the stock Samsung Messages app, which I dont want to use. And if I go into that app to disable, and then switch to another Messaging app after, then every time I reboot, Advanced Messaging is on again.
If anyone has further advice on 1) understanding what the issue may be and 2) how I can permanently disable Advanced Messaging - I am desperate to receive it! Thank you.

You might have to adb push and remove advanced messaging from your system partition
