Love to know which one it is. I really like the page turn transitions any idea?

looks like a modded version of launcher pro to me could be wrong tho!

ADW EX doesn't have that particular animation.. I hope it will soon tho. I'm not sure what launcher that is in the video.

Sorry bout the incorrect URL guys. Thanks for responding though. By the look of the hardware I assumed this might have been an older video even though it's 2.3, I think it is some sort of ADW or Launcher Pro but Its nothing I've been able to recreate or figure out. If anyone comes up with an idea feel free to chime in.
On the You tube video site someone posted it might be an Imagic launcher im not familiar with that name either.

The newer launcher pro, the .8.3 version has the flip animation, along with the cube, which i prefer.

iMagic? According to youtube comment.. I really like that launcher!

Can't be launcher pro. The flip option doesn't scroll through pages like that. I can't find anything relating to any iMagic. This ones a mystery my friend.

Launcher pro does have a flip animation.. but it definitely isn't like that.

Thanks its whyI hesitated posting because I thought it was something more obvious. I've seen live home before I just don't remember the page turn gonna try it out so how laggy it is.

[Q] Launcher

I may just be asking to be flamed, but I have to know how come the stock launcher (NON TOUCHWIZ) hasn't been put out yet. Yes I know of Launcher pro and others. The sprint ID one that has been removed from the good roms was pretty good. Also Marcuant from the Epic forums has a ICS beta that's awesome and the launcher on it is cool. Anyway to port that or is the Source files from ICS needed to make that happen?

I'm a little confused as to what you are looking for. If you mean the stock Gingerbread launcher (since that is what we are on) there are a handful of them available in the market.

ASOP Launcher. Or the new ICS launcher. Maybe it's a clone but it's the [email protected] http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295515 He has no pics but I did flash the rom on a buddies epic and it runs smooth. The launcher doesn't have the bugs that the other clones do.

Thanks for the quick responses. I've played with that one before and it's still laggy and the quicklinks on the right doesn't work well. I really just want someone to abstract the launcher out of the sprint id that's stock android so I can use that as my daily. Oh Snap. This one works well. SMS doesnt work.

The one I linked you to is what Marcusant is using in his ICS themed rom. If you wanna use the stock gingerbread launcher, you've already got it. Just clear defaults on TouchWiz launcher and hit home, select it from the menu. Or use the app 'Home Switcher' and select it in there. Done and done.

I love this launcher. Is there any way to reduce the number of screens from 5 down to 3?

Can I pull launcher2.apk and tweak it? Or is this something that I need source for?

You might be able in this ROM (as it's deodexed though it would depend on what you're trying to tweak) but otherwise, I doubt you'd really be able to do much without the source.

Eventually, I would like to try and figure out enabling homescreen rotation. Think that's something I could do with the deodexed one?

I remember Apex having that and I used to have Apex. Nova is pretty similar and not sure if it has that.
However, Nova works with Jelly Bean, I am using the ROM that the previous poster put up above.

Wasn't really trying to use another launcher. Just trying to see if I can do it, learn a bit while I'm at it.

That I don't think is a odex/de-odexed problem and will most likely require the source for the launcher.

To the OP, there are a lot of mods around for you to change things other than that its just Nova and the other launchers

Am I the only one that can't add more pages to the homescreen? I've tried dragging icons and widgets to the right, but seems like I'm limited to the one main page and the google now section to the left.

Hail on you xda comrade .. I post a comment back to the( kit kat will not come for g nexus ) thread and came with good lot of reason IMO that we dont even a bit mind . i will be glad if u read it and tell me what u think about it . i guess few ppl paid attentiion to this things

i totally agree with you, every feature google is giving out with 4.4 is way before developed by devs here , and yes they will continue the development even further 4.4 , so we do not at all need to mind about googles decision...

Strange, on my phone, after installer a couple of kitkat apps (google services, hangout, camera, keep, search, clock) there is no more "contacts" nor "phone calls" (the dialler) to be seen in my apps panel. Can't call anybody anymore :/
and hangout is always slow as hell to launch and work with (tends to kind of "freeze" on an empty screen page while loading / waiting for god knows what). Was used to this lagggggy UI with hangout, but it can't be so sluggish for SMS.

Try greenify from the play store. Your phone might be running out of memory or over loading the CPU. I don't have a single problem. The hangout app actually works faster than the SMS app for me!
Really weird that the phone and contacts apps disappeared though. Something went wrong somewhere. If you don't want to wipe then you can probably dirty flash your ROM to get them back.

No. It doesn't work yet. It FC's. Something is required somewhere. If we figure out what it is then I or someone will post it for you.

I've gotten all the Kitkat apps on my phone and I have no problems at all. I'm glad to see they finally updated their ugly email app. And the camera rotates a lot faster than before. Google Now is awesome. I had mixed feelings about the new launcher at first but its growing on me. The keyboard seems more responsive too. Also, the hangouts app isnt all that laggy for me. It does take a second to load everything when forst opened but after that, its fine. SMS works great with it in my case. Overall, they are great updates. I can't wait to try out the Kitkat OS.

First of all, I downloaded apps from here:

After you get them on your sdcard, most of them can just be installed like normal apk files.

I dont know why people have been having issues. I'm running Kitkat right now. But when I installed all these apps on Jelly Bean, they were running fine for me.

This is just a thought. But when I installed most of these, I was installing them over system apps or I was moving them to system/app to make them system apps. Maybe that makes a difference.

Anyone using the new Google Keyboard? I found out you can type a whole sentence now with the swipe guesture without raising your finger. The space bar is recognized as a swipe input now. I think the developer(s) of the Swype keyboard did that not that long ago but now its in the stock keyboard. Just thought I'd share.

When you were running on jelly bean, did you had any problems receiving or sending any MMS on hangouts?

is there an Android 2.0 based launcher out there for 4.4?

I like nova launcher and all, but I'd really like to be able to use one of the original pull up app drawer, and if it could have some of the Cm theming as well, that would be great. I just kind of miss having it there, and would like it around just because I lived with it for years on my g1 and kind of liked how it worked.

Not exactly what your looking for but if you set it up right (just a single app drawer button activated from the bottom of the screen only) you could achieve something similar:

yeah...I'm really thinking something like a recompiled version of the android 1.6 stock launcher with an allowance for install on devices with 4.4. If someone wants to attempt this, I think the source code is downloadable from here: https://android.googlesource.com/platform/packages/apps/Launcher/ but I don't know how modifying it would work

I'm still looking for one...isn't there source code that someone could modify and compile?

idk why you want to use the 1.6 launcher or 2.2.
there are faster and more optimized launchers out that. i.e Nova Prime for KK
