Hello all. I recently reverted back to stock 4.0.4, but I have a maguro device. I heard this firmware does not get updates directly from Google. Should I convert to yakju and await the 4.1 update? If I can help it, I'd rather not install a custom ROM and just leave it on stock, but rooted of course . Thanks for any help you guys can give me.
Who said to you that maguro doesnt get Google updates?
Just wait for the release, JB arent released yet.....

maguro = Google's reference device.
yakju = Google's reference firmware for this device.
If you have a maguro on yakju, you should be slated for this OTA update if you are willing to wait that long.
I wasn't
You're getting names confused. Maguro is the device. Yakju is the firmware. You'll get updated once the OTA is available... it isn't yet.
Ahh, my mistake lol.

This isn't development, and 4.0.3 is already in AOSP.
What's the latest android version available on GNex.... currently my cellphone has 4.02 ... and it doesn't shows any update :s

That's the latest for the GSM Nexus
4.0.2 is the latest offically available version for the GSM (maguro) Galaxy Nexus. But with custom ROMs you can upgrade your phone to 4.0.4 (MoDaCo Custom ROM).
For the Verizon CDMA (toro) Galaxy Nexus the latest official version is 4.0.4 (not sure if you can already update over the air but there is a leaked official one). Rumours say Verizon have already a 4.0.5 version but it's not available yet because they are doing still some beta tests.

Latest 100% official is 4.0.2 for both, or 4.0.3 via AOSP.
Anything else is either a leak or like someone else said, in testing.
Has the yakjux version of the galaxy nexus received an OTA update to android 4.1 Jellybean yet? Is there a timeline of a sort? I know I can flash it manually, but isn't the whole point of getting a nexus device that they get updates before other phones?
yakjuux has not received the JB OTA yet.
if you want updates as soon as they are available, you need to switch to the official google images of the build yakju or takju.
all other firmwares are updated by samsung.
Hi
I have purchased Galaxy Nexus GSM from Ebay recently. System was updated to 4.0.4 ICS till now and suddenly yesterday I got
new update is available and downloaded notification. I think its 4.1.1 JB
I am upgrading my system now... and yes its upgraded !
New 4.1.1 JB
Have a look at the attachment for more details on baseband , kernel version and F/W version... I'm too lazy for typing..
We know. Rollout started a couple days ago.
Do you think there is a difference between the yakju build and the yakjuxw ?

I saw all over internet that every note 8.0 is updated to 4.2. But I have connected to kies and no update. I am in Korea and was wondering is it my note or here in Korea there they aren't still updating to jelly bean 4.2.....does any one have any information to this. I am really annoyed with the Samsung slow update. The whole world got 4.2 and I am still stuck with this old 4.1!
Is any one else having this update problem?
Thanks in advance.

Type in gt-n5110 in the search box and you can see if there is an update for your region. If not you can just flash other versions through Odin.
