[Q]Can't install/update certain apps

Hi guys! I'm having problems with the market for a week now. Some apps just won't update, or install. For instance; Layar and LinkedIn, I just updated a few minutes ago. Cordy and Stupid Zombies, I've been trying to update them for a few days. It downloads them, then says it can't install them. Now the last two apps are installed on my SD-card, first two aren't. However, when I transfer Stupid Zombies to my phone memory, same thing. So the problem probably doesn't lie with the SD-card, as doing other things on my SD-card gives no problems.
I still have enough memory left to install the apps, 722MB on my phone, 6,4GB on the SD-card.
What have I tried?
Reboot
Deinstall app, install it again. That failed horribly, I can't install the Pinball game anymore
Clear Market cache
Clear Market cache & force close
Take out the SD-card, put it back in + reboot
Try to download via 3G instead of Wifi
Someone told me to try and log in to Google Talk, as it is somehow linked to the market
Logging into the Market from my phone browser
Is there anything else I can do before resorting to a factory reset? I'm on a non-rooted, stock 1.72 Desire HD.
I've the same problem, i try the factory reset also didn't work...
What happened when you went to recovery -> Advanced -> Clear Dalvik-cache?

[Q] Unable to install Apps from market

I am unable to install apps from the market. I can access the market and select the apps but all I get is starting downloads which doesn't change even if I leave for hours. I have WI-FI enabled and can access the web with no problems. Here is what I have tried already.
Clear Data in Downloader,
Clear Data and Cache in market
Factory reset
Flashed to CyanogenMod 7
and I still cannot download any apps.
If you have s-off you could try deleting the market.apk file and then reinstalling from a non market source? If you search xda I'm sure I remember several threads about this.
I had this problem a few times. Have you recently changed your Gmail (If you use Gmail) address from @googlemail to @gmail? This is what caused the problem for me and many others...
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I never did work out what was causing the problem. I installed CyanogenMod 7 and all is work again.
Yea, sometimes just a reflash fixes the problem. I also found that, sometimes, the download would just finish but never actually install - almost as if the .apk downloaded but the Market Process just never actioned the new .apk to open, so it just sat in /cache until the next reboot, doing nothing.
log in to google talk...i think that should solve the issue.

Andriod Market ain't downloading

From yesterday am running into this. Android Market isn't downloading anything. It's not even updating apps.
It always ends up throwing up this error.
"Download Error"
Download was unsuccessful, please try again.
Enabling fast web installer in Appbrain isn't helping me either. It loops me back to Market for downloading the "fast web downloader plugin". And Market won't download that.
Any workarounds?
Don't want to state the obvious here but have you got enough internal memory? Market won't download if your internal memory is less than 15.6MB
Hmm..., I got 507MB free space left in my SD-ext 1gig ext4 partition, and around 100mb of free space in internal memory. Space isn't the issue here.
Try clearing the data for the Market app - helped for me.
Which rom do you use?
Swyped from Oxygen
If clearing the data alone doesn't work (though it should) try this (worked for me a couple of times when I had issues with Market)
1) go to settings>applications>manage applications>all>google services framework>clear data
2) go to settings>applications>manage applications>all>market>clear cache and force close
3) go to settings>applications>manage applications>all>market>clear cache and clear data
4) Reboot phone
5) Open and sign out of GTalk, then re-open and sign in. (IF YOU HAVE GTALK INSTALLED ONLY)
6) Open Market and accept agreement. Let it load your apps. Close Market.
7) Go to market.android.com and sign in. Go to My Market Account>Settings tab>Edit>Nickname your phone and click Update.
Am using RCMix S 2.0 Evolutionary Sense. Temporarily got around the problem by downloading Fast Web Installer and enabling it in AppBrain.
Will try out the above solution.
Which hboot?

[Q] Problem installing / uninstalling apps

Hi,
I tried to install Angry Birds Space last week, the download and installation seemed to complete normally, however once the installation was complete the app wasn't present and the memory the game uses (~24mb) was gone. I tried again the day after and the same thing happened. So I'm now down 48mb of RAM and my phone has started to freeze as there's only ~ 1mb of RAM free. I tried to uninstall the apps in the Manage Applications section but they don't seem to be listed there. Is there anyway I can find where these files are stored and delete them? I've already had to do a factory reset on my Desire twice in the 21 months I have it, I don't particularly want to do it again.
Thanks!
it happened to me too, are still with stock 2.3 (or 2.2) rom?
Best thing I could do was root and flash another rom, and it's really worthed
I'm still on 2.2. Did the same thing happen to you with Angry Birds Space or just in general?
No, I cannot rememeber what I was triyng to install (it was in dec!), and surely, that time, I had just applied the 2.3 offical update for desire (which btw is really awful).
Another thing you can do of course is uninstalling most of your app so that you sort of "clean" your memory, checking if any folder related to these app is really deleted from your sd (you can check in the system directory too, but I don't think you can delete folders without superuser permission). Then try to re-install everything.
Anyway, the suggestion is still the same: try a new rom
You probably just have to clear the cache of the market app, or you can use something like this to clear the cache of all apps
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.cache
If that doesn't work you can try to clear /data/local/download, that's where the market stores its downloads IIRC (don't know if you can clear it without root though)
Had the same problem. (Not with the same app as you have) but clearing the market cache did the trick for me

[Q] Random ads began to appear?

Today i noticed that whenever I open my phone google chrome opens up with a webpage and i get full screen ads every now and then. The weird part is that I did not install any new apps or update anything. I have tried all types of ad detectors and malware programs and nothing is being found but the problem persists. Anything I can do except doing a full wipe? Not sure what else to do as I don't have many apps installed, trying to install and reinstall one by one to see if any of them were it with no results.
Perhaps go in under settings - applications, select clear data and wipe cache for the browser. I had something weird with dolphin, something was grabbing and redirecting, though adaway blocked the bad urls. A delete and reload of the browser app, including data cache for it, cleared the problem.
I use dolphin only and this is popping up in chrome. I have just tried doing both to your recommendations and its still the same, any other ideas?
Try xposed module minminguard
2SHAYNEZ
Not working as well.
