Not necessarily rooted but it has got its bootloader unlocked and with a custom kernel i.e. no longer stock. Clearly the person who previously owned the phone didn't bother returning it to stock before he passed/sold it to your brother.

Seeing as it says i9250 right in it, and you are asking about i515, i'm gonna assume (i know i shouldn't, but will anyways) no. And is that supposed to be a link, or just a tar file you found somewhere that you decided to share the name of?
uh hate to point out the obvious but it also has i515 in the filename as well. so who knows which its for. the better question, where was this file found ?

Nevermind, I figured it out! LOL!
Please post results on site if possible and here thanks!
1. The phone wasn't unlocked, now bootloader is unlocked.
2. It does have Verizon Apps.
Thanks for the info!

This build is completely different from the other builds from what I've heard not sure there was a user who tested
Booloader is unlocked on that one

Simply search and download the GNex toolkit. It will do everything for you

Or.... just root manually because it's extremely simple.
OP, on a Nexus, no update is going to break your ability to root the device.
If you updated your GNex yesterday, shouldn't your Version be IMM76I?
Thanks alot guys. I just bought this phone, I really don't know which its which. I had HTC evo and evo 3d, and when you update your phone your basically screwed. That's why I was worried.

Swapping hardware

Ran into an odd situation, if I swap physical phones on my account can I do it while being touted on CM10 or would I have to go back to stock? Thanks on Sprint

Yep I used an upgrade on one of my 5 phones and want to swap devices. Not sure if I need to go stock so when they re provision with numbers things go smoothly

Should be fine as is.
You don't need to be stock to swap plans or move devices around to other lines in your account.
The only time you want to revert to stock is if for a warranty repair through the carrier. A lot of times they don't even care but a rom can introduce weird bugs that can be mistaken for hardware malfunctions.

S3 i747M To be outdated soon?

*sigh*
My dad recently traded his iPhone 5 with an S3 i747M from Rogers Canada plus 200 Cash.
I ran sygic (gps app) and it lagged a lot on his phone compared to my S2 i9100.
Will this mean my dad's S3 will be outdated soon with a weaker GPU at 1280X720 screen (Bad choice Samsung!)?
Mod: please move this to QA as I am not able to make new posts there.

Your dad made the right choice. Now get him off that stock garbage **** and introduce him to some custom ROMs and kernels.
I747 is going to be here for a while.

You see, he is coming from an iPhone 5 (I convinced him) and I downloaded a custom stock ROM for the cool stock looks and functionality. Anyway, here's my S2 screenshot

What exactly do you mean with safestrap? You mean with a 100% success-rate?

Yea I was wondering of safe strap will work for the at&t note 2 but I'm just going to try it on my Verizon note 2 since I figured out how to transfer everything over to my other note 2

You don't use safestrap. You'll use a custom recovery.
