I updated my phone yesterday, will I be able to root? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

If so can someone send me a link please.
My version is 4.04 and baseband L700.FD05, Kernel 3.08, Build number IMM76D.L700FD02.
Please let me know if it’s rootable.
Thanks

Simply search and download the GNex toolkit. It will do everything for you

Or.... just root manually because it's extremely simple.
OP, on a Nexus, no update is going to break your ability to root the device.

If you updated your GNex yesterday, shouldn't your Version be IMM76I?

Thanks alot guys. I just bought this phone, I really don't know which its which. I had HTC evo and evo 3d, and when you update your phone your basically screwed. That's why I was worried.

Seeing as it says i9250 right in it, and you are asking about i515, i'm gonna assume (i know i shouldn't, but will anyways) no. And is that supposed to be a link, or just a tar file you found somewhere that you decided to share the name of?
uh hate to point out the obvious but it also has i515 in the filename as well. so who knows which its for. the better question, where was this file found ?

Google updates GNex not Samsung says Samsung..

When I contacted Samsung that when will the release 4.0.4 for Saudi arabian (yakjujp) GNex... they said " Please be advsied that although it is Samsung who made it, the Galaxy Nexus is a Google phone and thus its updates are not from Samsung but must come from Google itself."

Not to sound like a **** or anything, but the Galaxy Nexus Toolkit would easily allow you to unlock the bootloader and flash Google's stock factory image for 4.0.4. Much easier than waiting for it OTA...

Couldn't agree more on switching-to-yakju part. I don't like tookits.
A few fastboot commands and you're up running the latest yakju.
That...is kind of correct though....

Samsung are the ones to handle their own specific versions of ICS for the Galaxy Nexus.
Google manages in no way the various yakjuXX (where XX defines a region number) releases.

Why would you believe a tech rep to have any clue about this? Of course they are going to give out wrong info.
Its like the people who actually believe what a Verizon sales person says. They just work it as a job making $11 an hour in high school. How would they know anything or care.

Why's that?, it cant always be a samsung, htc was already done, LG and Sony i doubt it and other brands are unlikely
So that leaves motorola or samsung again

I am also new to the nexus forums, just arranged to buy one for 225. Woot! It'll be my fourth Android phone, and I'm finally ready to start getting my feet wet with some developing and/or theme making. Started with the Captivate, then the Infuse, currently on a Note, and now I'm adding the GNex as my secondary phone for developing. Although I think it has potential to displace my Note as my daily driver. I love Samsung phones. =].
My desire for getting into developing comes from my ORCD, as just flashing ROMs is not enough anymore.

Jelly Bean for CDMA Galaxy Nexus

We all know by now that the GSM Galaxy Nexus has gotten its delicious Jelly Bean update. But what about us that bought a CDMA variant. I got the feeling that we will be getting it around the same time the GSM devices get Key Lime Pie. Correct me I'm wrong and I hope someone has some good news.

When Sprint/Verizon announce it is when the update will come. I figured a member since 2008 would have figured that out by now.
When it's ready (D-Wade voice).

Well the 4.0.4 update was small and took what like 2 months to release? 4.1 is a lot bigger update. It pains me to think about an official verizon release time frame.
Well I'm on Sprint and past experiences have shown they push updates pretty quickly. But isn't google in charge of pushing updates to the nexus devices?

No, Sprint and Verizon have to test and approve them before they push them. Google doesn't do it.
Isn't the Verizon version on the developers Site now. They say it's still experimental but at least Google is doing something.

I heard by Christmas for verizon. I hope that is wrong but will probably just go with a custom rom and not wait.

And was patched in August, sadly because of carriers having to approve of updates, many have not seen the fix yet.
Try that link with your android browser and see if your dialer exposes your imei number, if it does nothing then we're ok
Anyway, I think its only for samsung devices running touchwhizzed

This is absolutely WRONG!
I've tested this bug today on 4 devices without TouchWiz, including a Galaxy Nexus with 4.0.4, and it WORKS!
The only safe device I saw was my Galaxy Nexus with 4.1.1 stock rom. All the rest were vulnerable! Be careful!
This is definitely going to have to be addressed, I'm surprised no one has caught it sooner

Then you should submit your results to Samsung. All of my phones bring up the dialer. That's not the issue. Only my SGS Vibrant on Android 4.0.3 brings up my IMEI as well from the stock browser. That's the issue.
Chrome is unaffected.
Just did it to my ns and gnex and I'm good
