Oh goodie. This is indeed good news. Just needs some time and we will have this baby in no time...
Having SDK released, how much time should pass until an alpha build of Jellybean hits the threads? As the way stands now, you can make a rom using that first SDK release or we need to wait until updates will roll out [sdk updates]?
whoaa super cool

The SDK is for app developers. Serious Jelly Bean ROM development will not start until the source is released, probably in a month or two.

Changes are great. I wonder if Project Butter will be included in the next month AOSP! Do you imagine running JB at 60 FPS? Our ONE V is capable of that!
Hi all. Can anyone please tell me if One V is getting JB? I dont see why it shouldn't but just wanted to confirm.

This is incorrect for two reasons.
1. It is not an OTA update, that will not arrive until sometime July. It is a preview build that was leaked and can be installed on any GNex.
2. Just because a GNex build was released, does not mean the source is available.
This makes me super excited. Just watch this youtube clip:

Google voice search in jelly bean beats the current rendition of Siri by a tonne!
I can't wait for my buttery One V

yeah! but we still have a great deal of finding the right fix for wifi/camera/bluetooth/usb in cm9... so jb will have to wait for our device, unless htc will push it to our phone.

Hah! That's not gonna happen for a very long time, I think.
And when it does, HTC is going to cripple it with sense.

It has been announced, the source and the galaxy nexus will drop in november-december. We are not going to get it officially, but as soon as the source drops, a few custom roms will come up.

No. Support for the Desire/Bravo has finished. Although HTC have posted on Facebook that they hope to get it on as many devices as possible, what they mean is that it will most likely be only on phones that have been released in the last six months. Bear in mind that the Desire is coming up for its second birthday...
The only hope for ICS on the Desire is in the hands of the Devs. If/when they can port it (and I'm sure they will) then that it the only way you will be able to get it.
Will this now be our next major update for the HOX ?
Reading the changlog on version .4 improves/updates more than 100 issues over .3
And looks to be a major improvment!
Although sense might be as good/better already in some areas.
One thing we know for certain......mainland Europe will get it first!
I have heard a comment of "we haven't even got version 3 of the kernel yet"......what is the significance of this ?
I had it on my Galaxy Nexus before I sold it and didn't notice anything different over 4.0.3 personally. It was more a bug fix release than anything else
Still, it would be nice to get it as it's out! Having said that, HTC skipped over 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 so they may skip over this too

Interesting, you could be right, I see the nexus was due to get .5 in April did that happen ?
Does it stop at .5 then move to Android 5 ?
I bet we just skip straight to Jelly bean and Sense 4.5

There is no official release date for it yet, in fact "The Wall Street Journal quotes a source that says Jelly Bean will be released by Thanksgiving (November 22, 2012)."
So if released in November it would take HTC a few months to test it before they release it, hence the "Two X" March/April 2013
4.0.5 isn't on the Nexus btw

That's been delayed then, there is a good review here http://www.androidauthority.com/android-4-0-3-vs-4-0-4-vs-4-0-5-75651
The 4.0.5 update would appear to be for the Verizon Nexus only, and not the GSM handset, so it may not reach other GSM handsets either

Pretty sure we'll get jelly bean, if HTC stick by their track record then they'll debut it on a new phone no doubt.
but it would be nice if they don't and we get it straight away.

I belive the version 3 kernel refer to kernel for the Tegra chip made by Nvidia, Currently the latest version is 2.6, think this is made for Gingerbread.
One good thing about Samsung phones running Exnose is the chip is designed in-house, so there is not depending on 3rd parties to supplies the kernel.

There wasent any new features added to a varsion 3 kernal, just minor bug fixes, the reason for the version change was to tidy up the version number, I think the web site for it was www.kernel.org. else google it

I hope Nvidia can reduce the power usage for Tegra 3. I did a test of leaving the phone idle at 50% brightness, the battery died after 7hrs and 43 mins. However, I can not get more the 3 hrs screen on time in normal (none gaming) daily use.
there are several versions of 4.0.4 out already. check modaco forums.

I don't think that One V will get JB officially . Merely we will get it through porting or building it from source.

The tought is made out of statistics I agree.
Given the fact, that V has came out with 4.0 and that every htc android phone in the market have received at least one version update (at least those I know).
I think the hardware is capable, so CM10 or AOSP or some other port will be available non-officially that is for sure
Lol you guys realise that JB is essentially a service pack right.? So we will very likely get it officially

Perhaps they will do it:
http://www.androidcentral.com/htc-jelly-bean-updates
So what does the Taiwanese manufacturer have planned in the way of updates for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean? Here's the official word:
"We are excited about Android Jelly Bean and are planning to support it across a variety of our devices. We are reviewing the software to determine our upgrade plans and schedule, so please stay tuned for more updates on specific device upgrade plans."

Couldnt be lies, i know you are joking but it was released by a trusted source i am having trouble remembering that it would be coming to this phone. Eventually. Havent found anything on release date or such though lol. i am hoping jmz gets cm10 up and going though, it would be quite nice.
Yes its getting jb with sense 4+ when? I dunno. Nobody knows. But I'm working on cm10

I don't think an official jb is really needed,at least for me. Jmz's sense Rom is awesome, fast and if you add the linaro kernel you would think you already have jb.
My last htc was like two years ago. So as much as I like cyanogenmod, I'll stick with stock HTC for sometime.

The problem is with these phones is that the only get 1 official update before they are obsolete. Most likely the phone will get the official JB update 18 months into its life just when its about to hit the 2 year mark.
