I've just recently installed the gedeROM v1.7 on my Fire and love the ROM! The one thing that keeps happening is when I am charging the device with the native charger, the light comes on as if charging but when I push the power button, nothing happens. Screen stays black and I have to reboot to get to lock screen. Any advice how to combat this would be helpful. Thanks all!
I would suggest doing a factory reset.

Yeah, I've tried that already...still the same issue. Thanks for the reply, though!:good:

Hello,
I have had my Kindle rooted fro quite some time but I didn't like it so I decided I would install the new ICS ROM that is out. However, this did not work so I tried to go back to the Kindle system using TWRP and the Kindle Update 6.3.1 from Amazon. Now, all I can see is the Kindle Fire logo for a few seconds then the screen goes black, with the backlight on. The light will stay on until the battery goes dead. Any suggestions?
My kindle fire 2 has twrp with CyanogenMod 10.1 rom. Once every few days it will shut off and the only way to get it back on is plugging in the charger and holding the power button for 30 to 45 seconds. The first few times it happened the battery was less than 25% so I thought it might be that, but since then it has happened with full charge. One of the times I could not get it back on thought it was dead left it off the charger and tried again hours later and it worked. Has any one else has this happen?

Managed to thank you by accident, lol.
This is an old ongoing issue. Every now and then the KF2 goes into deep sleep and won't wake up. The only way to wake it up is holding there power button for 20 seconds and then starting up normal again.
I have had it happen on all the ROMs at some point.
I have found that once it starts doing it, it will start to do it more often.
Short term fix:
Make sure you have the same ROM downloaded to your KF2
Enter TWRP
Wipe System
Wipe Cache and dalvik
Flash the same ROM.
Flash gapps and reboot.
Your KF2 will now behave for a while again.
Repeat whenever it becomes an issue.

i had that problem too, but since i flashed a nightly build, it never happened again!
Heya guys! I just got my kindle fire 2 today, I had this same problem with my previous kindle as well.
I have a fastboot cable but it serves useless at this point. The kindle will not turn on at all; no screen, no power light, nothing.
My guess: I f**ked up on flashing the bootloaders
My solution: ???
Ideas or a fix? I'd rather not call Amazon (again)
If its hard bricked you can do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2415870
Some insight from the original thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391047
This is usually above what most people can/are willing to do to fix it though. If you do get it hooked up and need to know what to do next, look at the original thread toward the last pages, it tells the command to run. Or see if kurohyou will fix it, but he seems busy with college.

Hello i have the same problem... My Kindle Fire HD is bricked, not turning on - black screen, led lights not flashing. Is there any other way to fix the problem without soldering? Thanks for help!
Unless you want to lose the data and send it into amazon for a free replacement, then the answer is no. Also you said you are on a HD, the contacts on that model haven't been mapped yet so we really don't have a way worked out to hook it up to a sdcard reader yet.

Hello my device is stuck in bootloop and wont be reconised by my computer unless it is connected by a factory cable i bought from 'EarlyBird' on Amazon.
The screen turns on as well as the green light, it flickers and then goes black. This just REPEATS.
Plugged my kindle in with factory cable and showed up in Device Manager as 'otter2-prod-04'?
How can i make the kindle boot up again and work like normal?!?
Thanks.
If you need more info or can help please reply to this thread or PM me.
What did you do before this happened?
Had you been on stock or have you flashed a different ROM?
Do you see the blue Kindle logo, or does it bootloop before that?

It is a orange and black logo saying 'kindle fire'. A light passes by it then freezes and repeats like I said in OP. I bought it broke at car boot sale very cheap so don't know background.

I can send pics if need of kf? Also I'm trying out soupkit for kindle fire 2 now and see if this works. Should I use a fastboot cable with soup kit or not.
