Disclaimer: Not responsible for anything that happens to you or your device after you flash this.
boot.bin
factoryfs.img
hidden.img
modem.bin
recovery.bin
Sbl.bin
zImage
are all packed into this
This will not wipe data but return you to factory stock
If phone does not boot afterwards just boot into stock recovery and wipe data/factory reset, problem solved!

Stock Tar is in case something goes wrong while your device is rooted/modified.
Always good to have a stock backup.

In search of a good ROM based on the new ota

I'm new to this epic 4g looking for a good stable rom based on the new ota would love some Suggestion ,any one have any ideas?

All ROMs are in Development. The title tells you what firmware they are. All of Epic ROMs are great. Pick one.

His phone will keep telling him to update until he actually runs the update, or at least tries to (it obviously wont work if you are running a custom ROM). Just because his phone is telling him to update, doesn't necessarily mean it's better. I'm going to go ahead and agree with everyone else on here and say CM9 is amazing. The only reason I haven't gotten the EL30 modem and flashed CM9 (I have tried it and its awesome) is because i use the hotspot hack on my other ROM and 4g wifi tethering doesn't work on CM9 yet. Most people don't care about that issue so I'd definitely say forget looking for a EL30 ROM and go straight for CM9.

There are not many roms based on el30 yet, and to be honest, its not that great of an update. Cm9 is now available, but still had some bugs to get worked out. For now I would strongly advise starskyrom mtd v2.0, or marcusant v3. Its all about personal taste, and roms perform differently for every device.

Backing up rom and flashing rom on Galaxy s2.

Hello in having a hard time backing up my rom on clockword and flashing a rom as well. My phone provider is sprint. Any way to fix this? Thanks.:thumbup:

Epic Touch forum. Scan a little further on the phone list. It says SPH-710 also I believe.

You can always just flash the mtd el30 which is stock but on mtd.

I'm not sure I understand. You can Odin back to stock of you partition to mtd. What does your girlfriend being on mtd have to do with the situation? As far as your phone not connecting to Odin that's the problem I had until I read about the Samsung cable being a pos. Have you tried an HTC or BlackBerry cable? Also try different usb ports. Odin is fussier than a teenage girl.

The nexus s 4g comes on MTD stock and its not like sprint even knows what the difference is they ran my mtd el30 epic through slate and didn't detect anything

Slate just sends text and stuff to see what works and does not. It does not even check for root...

I downloaded the first one but I don't see any of those radios in my about phone info. Is the top one good to flash? I'm on fi27.

Whoaaa! The screen shot in your first post answers the question, do NOT flash if you don't have an i9100.. You have the Sprint variant.. You can only use Sprint's GB or ICS era modems on Fi27.. which is ICS. Why would you want to use the international version when it clearly says not to?
Your current modem is Fi27 as in your second screen shot.

I didn't know it was. I thought that was just the latest radio for the s2. But I wanted to make sure b4 hand.

Yeah, baseband is your current modem. RWilco has a modem repository in the dev section as a sticky which has all the modems released to date for our variant.
Be careful to read though, jb modems can only be used with jb tw roms. Ics and gb modems can be used in either ics, gb, aosp and aokp builds..
