I would like to do some small research about things what influence vibration on phone boot.
I haven't noticed it before, but my DHD vibrate 2 times on splash screen (just before bootanimation). And no more until complete boot.
This idea was in my head just to make sure everything is ok with my DHD boot. So please can you turn off your DHD completly ( uncheck Power - Fast boot and then power off your phone or remove battery ).
Then report here how much times your DHD vibrate on splash screen and until complete boot.
Maybe ROM make difference, so report also what ROM you are using.
If this helps you please say thanks! :good:
Using BlaxkICE v 1.60
One long vibrate at the HTC logo and one short one before booting into the ROM

I have flashed more than 10 ROMs an now it looks like it realy depends on ROM.
Why this realy is happening?
Can we edit how much times phone will vibrate?

What makes this possible on the Desire HD? My phone takes at least 2mins from off before It's up and running and ready to make calls, even with a Hot Restart (snq boot menu) I'm not up and running quick.

Its less than 10 seconds, more like 3.
And its because the phone is not off, its in a deep hibernation state, blackberries have operated like this for years.
If you reboot into recovery or pull the battery or anything like that it will take about 3-5 minutes to boot.
Cheeky cheeky. I take it this would be difficult to port to non- hd ROMs? Or perhaps just wait until they fix the cam on the hd ROM

Moved to Q&A as not development.
Please do not make new threads in development to ask a question.
As I understand, HD ports have this feature enabled already.
I have a strange problem from time to time with my desire, it does not matter what rom I have installed either so its not a rom problem.
my desire is rooted, s-off.
The problem is sometimes when the phone is off or I have to remove the battery it doesn't come strait back on the notification light flashes alternate green orange green orange and I have to remove the battery to get it to stop and then try to turn it back on again sometimes it takes 6 or more attempts of pulling the battery to get it to boot normal again.
Does anybody know why this happens and how I can fix it thanks?

When did this start? before root/s-off? or after?
Changing Radio might help.
It started before s-off I think, I have used various radios already with different roms. The strangest thing is that it doesn't appear all the time that's what I can't understand

Yesterday my Desire HD wasn't stay off properly.
If i shutdown my phone, my phone will power on in a few seconds..
I've tried to pull out the battery all night and today the problem seems to disappear ...
Do i need to take my phone into warranty? Anybody else have this problem before?
Thanks for the answer!

It is a feature of clockworkmod recovery, that if your phone is off and you connect the charger, your phone will go to the recovery.

It's turning on without charger, this was my problem!
After few seconds, the phone will turn on by yourself and boot normally, not in recovery!
The only way to keep it off is to remove the battery...
Thanks for your answer anyway!

Okay, that's weird then. I would try to clean my SIM, battery and MicroSD contacts. Then you can also try the stock recovery. If those do not help, send your phone to HTC, that is definitely not normal behavior.
Does it turn on even if you pull the battery out for 5 minutes and put it back in?
And hey, try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12517111&postcount=6
As jkoljo said, read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1014302
It has something to do with daylight saving.
The problem disappeared after a whole night without battery.
Now the phone will stay off correctly, without problem.
Thanks a lot for the answer, and sorry for my weird english ,

I have a rooted Desire running Redux v1.2 and had been going great for a day or two but suddenly the screen has started refusing to turn on from a locked state. The buttons still light up when I press the lock button but the screen stays black and I have to remove the battery and reboot. Any idea why this might be happening?
I'm worried because it started doing this before being hard bricked last time: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995009
HTC managed to fix the phone under warranty but don't want to end up in the same place again.
Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere but search appears to be down and I need to figure out if I need to try and restore the stock ROM tonight (so my phone doesn't die again).
Are you using setCPU or something similar? If yes make sure you don't have a screen off profile below 245Mhz.

The rom has a CPU section in the settings menu. In it the minimum frequency 245MHz but I have now just enabled power save mode and I will see if things improve.

Hi. I have been using RCMIX Runny 4.0 and one morning when I woke up the phone had rebooted itself and was stuck at RCMix bootscreen. I wasnt able to boot the phone after that so I flashed another ROM. I have used SuperWipe before every rom flash. The problem I have been having with many roms including RCMIX Rynnu 4.0 is that when the phone goes to sleep mode and I push power button to start the hardware buttons at the bottom light up but the phone is dead.
The only current ROM that works without the sleepmode death is Android Revolution 6.1.5.
Any one have a clue what the problem could be?
Thanks in advance for the help.
anyone have a clue?
I'd think you're cpu sleep max frequency is too low. Try putting it a bit higher.

But as soon as phone goes into sleep mode it won´t wake up. Only hardware buttons lite up but screen is dead.
