So like a lot of people I like to get a full days worth out of my phone, I haven't been able to do a complete test yet but so far it looks like the battery on the One V seems pretty good.
So please post your results and maybe some tips and settings you use to help out the community.
I will try to get a good test up in the next couple of days
Thumbs up for the One V :good:
With my style of using, I recharge the phone once at every 2 days.
My style = about 1h of phone calls, some GPS navigation, some radio, internet browsing, instant messaging, etc. I almost never shut down my data networks.
At the end of 2nd day, I usually let the phone play at least half of hour of youtube movies in order to take the battery bellow 10% and after let the phone to be recharged the whole night.
do you know that over charging your phone can harm the battery and reduce it's life? it can also create unwanted problems
soo pls avoid overnight charging

Was getting about a day and a half of battery with calls and intermittent surfing.
After over locking at 1.5ghz, now getting 15-16 hrs.
I listen to music 1-2 hr a day ... battry last 2 days
So this was my battery yesterday, it did ok seeing as I was downloading some files and browsing on the internet for a while. I think the main issue was my phone looking for the best signal. Will keep testing tho.

So no one else seems to be posting but w.e I finally found out what was draining my battery so much. Silly mistake but it was autosync, I didn't realise that I could turn it off and so get emails :$, anyways this is what I got today out of pretty heavy usage. I'm really loving the battery life as I know I can go a whole day without a charger.
If anyone cares I posted my juice defender settings also

i hardly use my phone, just use wifi on saturday for an hr and i got a 5 day battery backup(not using wifi) is it good???
Modern electronics have built-in cutoff mechanisms to prevent overcharging. Overcharging NiMH batteries were a 90s problem, and the era of Li-ion never saw any significant incident of electronics without the cutoff. Even NiMH AA battery chargers these days have the cutoff.
In short, people who still meticulously pull the plug the moment their device is done charging is most likely wasting their time.

Are you saying that you didn't charge your phone for 5 days? If so then yes I'd say that's good, I always look at how long the screen is actually on (in my case 5 hours) which I think is pretty good too.

Happy with my battery. My phone only loses like 1-2% over sleep, which lasts for about say, 8hrs
I usually mostly have wifi on, moderate whatsapp and frequent browsing, and it lasts me like 1 and a half days, sometimes more!

Guess you'll find out. There's no formula that you can just see what your battery would be with specific criteria.
There are soooo many more things that factor into your battery, down to where you live and the load on towers you're connected to.

Also make sure your Freeze the Maps app or remove it, it tends to open randomly in the background and drain battery. I get an extra hour or so since I did this.
I normally get 16.5 hours with 3G + Bluetooth on. I don't have anything syncing though (all manual updates, Tasker forces a sync every hour to check e-mails.
Screen on time is ~3 hours or so.
Music (Rdio/Ubuntu Music) kills battery more than anything else for me though. Even with sreen off I get at best 2.5 hours of music

Didn't see this before. I had an Amaze 4G and if one thing sucked, it was battery life. I make it longer on a standard batter in my GNex. I put an extended one in the Amaze just to get it to were the GNex is normally (albeit sense is probably to blame here).

Check over in the 1.29 thread. There are reports that battery life has improved.
had the very same problems with my previous white HOX. It didnt last me half a day of moderate use, the battery life was horrible. Just listening to radio with the screen turned off and juice defender on, it drained 30% battery in 15 minutes. I returned it yesterday and got myself a new grey HOX. Hopefully this one will work properly. If you experience quite extreme battery problems you really should return it and get a new one like I did because most likely its a faulty device. It is supposed to last longer than that unless you play tegra 3 games all the time.

Can you just post your battery stats? On my first 3 days, I had the same problem, I even felt that my phone can't even sustain my 4hours of journey on the day. But now it's standby consumption is awesome, may be several charging cycles helped the battery to settle.
We India's has to struggle with waiting to get the latest updates. So, better you unlock the device. But before that, it was too crazy in battery drain, check with HTC service center and confirm the issue. If it was really a h/w issue return the device.

1.2.9 doesn't improve battery life. Today got 9 hours before battery died, auto brightness screen on time was 3 hours 35 mins, push Gmail, push exchange, some calls, played some games. On wifi all day.
Average battery life nothing spectacular.

First of all, is it rooted? If yes, what rom do you have? You have custom recovery?
If not try this. Charge the phone and when the green led is on power off the device and leave it to charge for another 1 hour.
No it is not rooted. The problem is that the green light never appears because it doesn't fully charge.

Same problem
I had the same problem with one week old VM One V. Charged to 80% and no more. Discharged (auto turned off at 10%) and it charged to 100 one time. Then charged only to 84%. Discharged again, went down to 6% before shutting down. After a couple more cycles, including unplugging after "full" charge to 84%, then replugging and getting to 100%, finally two days in a row woke up to a green light and 100% from a 20-30% level at bed time. Only issue now seems to be two widgets show different battery levels, e.g. 63% on battery monitor widget pro, 53% on Elixer pro battery widget. The icon at the top looks more like 60%.
Not rooted, waiting a while. Love the phone, wish it were dual core, but runs as well as my Droid X and much better battery life. Nice design and feel.
have you resolved your issue Relgozen??
Yes your advice was very helpful. Should I continue to charge my device only when the battery dies?

Any tips for the x
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
I have my X for 2 months now and on a stock rom i was charging it once per day, sometimes once per 2 days (that depended on how much i was ''playing'' with it).But when i was charging it I've tried to charge it for at least 8-9 hours.I always left it to charge through night and i had a phone for a whole day long. When you bought your X did you charge it for about 12 hours 2-3 times ? They told me at the shop where i bought it that i should do it-otherwise it wouldn't last for half of a day...Maybe that's the thing you didn't do ? Cheers
Don't know mate I traded my nexus for the x. Wouldn't know that kind of thing. I do charge her fully though. I know my nexus only needed one. Im running the x on 2 cores. WiFi not on when locked etc. Turned auto sync off. I dimmed the brightness a bit but like the one x screen so dont want to lower it to much. Might have to start turning it off of something when I don't need it

battery sucks
ARHD rom 8.00 with stock kernel and Sense 4.1 looks like that there is better battery life.
I might try arhd.
On the off chance it would work I used a battery calibrator app (yes it doesn't always work)
It has made a difference though. I also discovered that even though the green led came on and the battery icon showed full it was actually only 91% charged. Thanks to the app I even noticed..

Have HOX for one day, at first charge 26h on battery, 15% left and still running with wifi on, recent calls, sms, internet, camera. Played dead trigger about 15mins. Played with phone, set interface and all settings for personal usage, wached couple of youtube videos, played couple of songs via speaker, run 4 benchmarks (antutu ate 2%, quadrant 0%), surfed net, downloaded apps and so on..
Why the hell are u whining about the battery life. With that kind of a screen battery is great. Still did not pushed core fire to system/app. With little of optimization battery would last 2 days with medium usage. I mean what do you want?
Best experience for now, no complains at all. Had Galaxy S3, and it sucks compare to this. Looks ugly, feels ugly, Touchwiz feels ugly, why the f.uck u need SD if u have 32gb of free space + cloud .. i mean come on .. its a phone (if it had 128gb of memory and no SD slot there would be the same issue). Removable battery, i bet 1% of people have 2 or more batteries and those who need such a thing, are not buying phone quad core with 5" screen. What else? Screen got scratches, i dropped and it crashed .... Really?
There are bugs for some % of products, thats why there are warranty for god sake. On my personal experience i know only one perfect phone with absolutely no complains - Nokia 3310.
My advise, HOX! Go for it and do not listen for 95% of bull**** posted on the internet.
Its not whining its a statement mate.its fine now. There's no issue with finding out how people resolve it etc. I like my x. You never had a phone you were unsure of at first?
And yep the 3310 was bad ass I had three of them. No complaints either with that phone. Least we didnt spend so much time messing about it.

Havnt had the One X for that long but Iv realized that having a No-Sense Rom installed you can increase the battery life. I went from 2 times a day to just once a day. Of course Screen Brightness does play an important role as well.
Hey,
I've been depressed about my battery life recently - especially how my friends One S lasts nearly twice as long, and was wondering if the Jelly Bean update will fix this issue. I've had cm10 and other jellybean roms, and the battery life seems to be even worse. Right now I get around 8 hours average. Does anyone who has tried the stock 4.1 rom know if battery life will be improved?

I get pretty good battery life now with ice cold jelly. At first it drained like crazy but I found a Bluetooth bug that drained my battery very fast. Try freezing some not needed apps. That's what I did and my battery life was much better. But be careful of what you disable or remove. You could damage your phone.

For me it's improved, I have it on power saver mode and with my light usage on working days I think it can last over 24 hours but never tested it as I charge nightly. Usually I take it off the plug at 8.30am, turn on 3g, browse Facebook and listen to music whilst I go to work, check my phone now and then and xda and browse the net during work, send a few texts make a call or two, check emails, listen to music way back home and such and usually come home with 65-70% battery left around 6pm. With heavier usage it'll drain more probably but for me I've been on nights out come back home around 3-4am and had battery life left on all those occasions.
