Hi, I have an issue with notifications. When somebody typed me a message on Whatsapp or FB messenger I don't receive messages immediately, sometimes it comes in a few minutes or hours or just when I unlockt the phone. I have data and WIFI still ON.This problem is not problem of ROM cause I had it on all of ROMs.What's wrong? Thanks for reply...(sorry for my english)

I don't think so. It's happening also when I'm on WIFI. (option "keep wifi on during sleep" set up to "always")
Aft I update fb from play store now its working perfect try to download new app dude hope u will get sum changes

i still confuse about APN data,when i use latest liqid kernel (11-29-10) and thougleskyle fat free froyo i have issue with apn data,
my YM cannot recieve any message when my backlight off,it always recieve when i turn my backlight on...
but when i use 2.6.25 kernal,its still have that issue,someone please help me...

I Guess he means Yahoo Messenger... I Know what he means.. most of the IM clients behave that way. Trying to safe the battery they suspend communication upon phone sleep only asking for Push after some time interval or wake up...
He must take notices when installing Yahoo Messenger.
If the apk request "prevent from sleeping", then it will receive messages when "standing by". Otherwise, i belive it Halts comunication. Could be easily tested though, with 2 acounts, one on the android, the other on a computer.
Login on both, check computer to make sure android is online, switch off android.
If on the computer the android account is showing offline, then this is normal
yes YM is Yahoo Messenger,i was try with my friend,i look into his phone,my account still online,but when i sending message to my account,it was nothing till i turn on my phone,do you got that issue too??this is kernel issue or what?
my friend have experia x10 mini,there is not problem with it...
edit : i try with browser to open xda forum,when loading i turn off my backlight,it still run

sorry to all for my bad question,this is my fault,its solve with reinstalling YM application....
it cannot be install app first,should flash .NBH first,then install application,i was trying many different kernels and roms build for stability....
i think odex build can ran more stable with .32 kernel,its reduce data corruption issue....

got my sgs today setup everything perfect but Facebook isnt able to log int in the accounts and sync therefor no contact from fb or events in my calendar can anyone advice. Thanks.
Hi there! I had the same problem and the solution i used was to log on using a different network (I know it sounds stupid, but it works). So if you're using you mobile data connection, connect to a wifi connection instead, or if you're already on wifi then connect to another wifi access point. Then try logging in again, it should all work.

Solution doesnt work on mine with Gingerbread.
With Froyo all was ok.
After updating to gingerbread, facebook stopped to sync. Everything else is working fine (facebook app, launcher pro fb widget). Tryed to flash back to JS8 but still got the same error message: login failed, try again.
Tryed also disable platfom applications from facebook, but this did not work.
would higly appreciate if some on could find a solution for this problem. Right now i am back to gingerbread.

Maybe it's something to do with Facebook itself; I'm having the same problem and changing network connection has no effect.
Same problem with the latest official 2.3 fireware. Apps like flow work fine.

Edit: full fb sync works. Looks like it wasnt a 2.3 issue.
Sam problem here after updating to 2.3.3 .. On froyo it all worked flawless but now can't get it to work, and it annoys me a lot because I like to see my facebook calendar in my phone's calendar it was really handy..
i moved to 2.3.4 and last few days i am having fb sync issue. today fb sync stopped again. i entered pass many times but each time error. after that settings > accounts and removed fb then add again, somehow it worked. strange...

Please help me, I don't get the clue!
First Problem:
From one day to another my facebook messenger notification doesn't work anymore. A few days ago, one reflashing to cm 7.2 RC 1 between, I had the same problem. Not sure but I think i saw a hint in the forums like "just disable and enable the notification in die messenger options". At this point it worked the first time for me (AND I was running supercharger script and JuiceDefender - I really have no idea which settings or apps can conflict with the messenger as well?). Now I have the same problem. Notifications are enabled but won't show up.
I would be overjoyed if someone can help me!
Please let me know if I forgot any informations!
I don't rly like to use friendcaster (free) because of the adverts. Never tried it though. Maybe they are not annoying/everywhere? I read that the notifications work fine with this app. Are there any compareable alternatives?
Second Problem:
The official XDA app is FCing very often. Even when I try to bookmark/favourite a forum!? I think this probably no common problem isn't it?

Facebook notifications don't work for many people apparently, me n the missus included. I don't use it anymore but she is on it 24/7, i found a separate App for her which pushes notifications and i think you can set it to open the facebook App when you touch the notification. I'll see if I can find it again.
Search the market for an App called adfree, that should stop the adverts in most free apps.
Try reinstalling the xda App again it almost works flawless for me.

reinstalling the xda app was the first intention i had, didnt worked.
The App my girlfriend uses with the facebook App is called Slk notifications for facebook.
You probably won't get notifications when the screen is off using juice defender as it cuts your connection, you should know that already tho so just ignore this comment.

I dont get msges as notification.. all the time, I should check the app if i got any msges.. and I really cannot understand what the problem is.. It happens to me for couple of months.. somedays works, somedays not.. I think, its not about the app, its about my phone.. but sometimes, even I dont change anything on my phone, it stop working
and 2 days ago, I installed new facebook app with facebook messenger.. first hours, it was okay.. I could get msges as notification, then it stopped also.. then I installed facebook messenger again, and that wasnt work either..
a month ago, I read a strange thing about that issue.. to solve that problem, seperate the battery from device, wait about some minutes, and put the battery to device again, and run it.. It worked for me for a while.. but now, It doesnt work either..
PLEASE HELP! My messages app is working soo slowly! when I open a conversation, it says 'Loading' and after about 5 mins, the conversation opens up. It's so slow! Why? Is it because I have all the messages stored in my phone memory? or is it something else? How to make it fast?
yeah same problem here. Weird. Thinking its all the past messages. Guess you have to delete the conversation every once and awhile. Oh well.

Hi, I have the same problems . Your phone is repaired. Replacing the motherboard. After 10 days the problem is back. Yesterday I made a factory reset, 2 minutes today I opened SMS. I reported this problem HTC and they know nothing about.
Sorry for bad English.
Go to app info of messages, from there select clear data. It will probably solve the problem....or do a factory reset..

After much frustration with the slowness of the message app, I tried this and it worked very well so far:
From within message app, select Menu...Settings...General... and uncheck the first three (all three) options under "Recipient list settings."
I guess that limits your search options from within the app. For me I probably don't use that function anyway, and even if I did I would trade it for a quicker app. To me, text messaging is worthless if it is not quick, otherwise I would just call or email.
I googled this problems for hours, but couldn't find any fix for my weird wifi problem on my N7100
My wifi works fine when im surfing the internet, the problem appear when I want to write a message on whatsapp or facebook messenger. When i open whatsapp, the app wont show me when was the last time that the user who sent me the message was online, and when i write something it will not send the message until 35 seconds, after those 35 seconds whatsapp works normally. The same problem is with facebook messenger. It is like my wifi stops working for those apps and after some time its starts normal working
I am having exactly the same problem and it started 3-4 days back. Also my wifi connects and re-connects again and again. Any solution please?
