Galaxy SII or Galaxy Nexus ? What do you think guys ! - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi everyone
1st of all, I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I'm gonna buy a new phone and I'm confused between SII and nexus. So I need your opinions openly and honestly about the previously mentioned devices WHICH ONE IS BETTER ?.
Thanks in advance :good:

This has been asked so many times its unbelievable. And i haven't even had the gnex as long as its been out so god know how many times its been asked.

I switched from an sII and I never looked back. The only thing that phone has way better is the camera...

Galaxy Nexus, by a long shot.

I told you I'm sorry if it has been asked. I did search but couldn't find anything relevant. please accept my apology
1 more thing guys : Is the internal memory only 16GB ?

I have had both. The gn to me is a great aosp phone and has great development section. The gs2 is a great phone as well yet not that good GPS and though you can get aosp the speed is not up to par with the gn. It also has a great development section if you are referring to GSM.
Both phones work great and just like every other phone out there, they all do the same thing. Some may be a Tad bit faster or a cm of better graphics but at the end of the day it's essentially the same as the last.
Try them both which ever fits your lifestyle then buy that one...

Well on my x10 with xda premium I can't search I just get 0 results no matter what I search. We cant always search before. ;-)
I'd say gnex based on the few reviews iv seen.
But I'm still going to wait a little bit longer to see the next wave of android device releases before I choose my upgrade. And my x10 is still a power horse after 2 and a half years.

I'd say yes. The Galaxy Nexus has no slot for an SD-card, so the 16GB is internal, but has many partitions for both /system/ /data/ and a fake sd-card which is in /data/media/ or simply /mnt/sdcard/ as its mount point is.
There was a 32GB version before it but was discontinued. Some are still sold by carriers like verizon.

Yes. GSM version only has 16GB of storage space, while the CDMA/LTE version has 32GB.

I think it has something to do with at least 10 other threads about the international galaxy s2 getting ICS.
I don't understand why everyone is so negative in this forum. It's almost uncomfortable spending time here sometimes.
bmakk2055 posted a link to information about the Samsung Galaxy S II. Yes, from a technical perspective it's obviously a different piece of hardware, but Samsung has given all of its variations the same name and branding. I think it's reasonable to assume they probably intend to handle them in a similar fashion.
No, he didn't post a concrete release date for our device - but it's useful and relevant data nonetheless. If nothing else, it offers clues as to Samsung's plans for the Galaxy S II brand.
Will you people calm down? OMGWTFBBQ!!!1! He wasted a thread!!! THIS COULD MOVE AN OLD THREAD TO THE *GASP* SECOND PAGE!!!!! Is there a finite amount of potential threads or something? Is XDA's server about to run out of disc space? This is a discussion board... not some strictly maintained community encyclopedia. We have stickies for that.
Anyway, I apologize for the wall of text. Thanks for the link bmakk2055. I'm glad you posted it.

this poll regards DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT ONLY.
I would like to know whether you feel happy or not with the development support your device got. (compare it to the international gs2 deving, or the att gs2 if that helps to make things easier) Do not read this poll as something that intends to start a flaming war. I am little bit confused which version of the gs3 to keep for myself and since I have not followed what was going on with the tmobile gs2 and the intl gs2 dev forums, I decided to make this thread asking your sincere (hopefully) opinions again vote on the basis of dev support only!

It's up for debate. GS3 hardware is supposed to be standard across all carriers. You shouldn't have a problem. Imo if you want the best value and best data speeds go with tmobile.
I'm unsure what the specs for the international is but I believe they're all the same.

The problem is you cant predict that for the GS3 since they are standard across carriers but international is still international. The s2 support isnt comparable because its a totally different fragmentation situation

Unfortunately they are not standard. And yeah intl will always get the best development but nevertheless at the end all you need is 5 good roms. Intl got 20 roms or more but users know that half of them are just a minor modified version of the stock rom.

Just go ahead mate...you will found that you should jump to note2 more early after you try it.
-same performance with iphone 5. ( i mean the ui smoothness and phone responsive)
-spen ( im sure you enjoy this exclusive features with your note 10.1)
-Battery life. At the moment in the whole mobile insdustry only motorola razr maxx able to compete with note2 in terms of battery performance. With 3100mah + low batery consumption quadcore proccesor you will found that iphone 5/4s totally not at the same level.
Other than mentioned abouve i dont think i need to explain more, since you was owner of note 10.1, im sure you knew clear how friendly user android os could be. No limitation of your os, could share any file with other friend with wifi direct/tap pouch. You 100% own what you bought. Not like i product just keep limitation to the user and their os is close sources as well.

• The battery life is amazing
• The S pen is an awesome piece of hardware and really functional as well
• The phone is butter smooth thanks to Project Butter
• All google play store apps that works on a regular screen size, also works seamlessly on this one
• A lot of possibilities thanks to Android

Don't even think twice. If you like smaller screen, then try find out i9305 (not i9300) but there isn't big difference.
This was my best ever decision to have it. (After iphone 3g, 3gs, 4g, then Note. Finally landed at Note 2) With this perfect sized screen and stuff it is unbeatable.
Btw guys today I've played NFS Most Wanted on my friends PS Vita. Then compared game play, graphs, etc. by playing the same game in Note 2. Note 2 seems would be a better mobile console than Vita in my opinion .

[Q] Help me on choosing....

Hey friends... Been a android user for a long time... Planning on upgrading my mobile... (currently i own galaxy y.)
I have shortlisted xperia z, galaxy note 2,nexus 4,HTC butterfly.
Seems xperia z will be very costly... 599 gbp (almost 820$)
So I'm thinking of leaving that one... I need help on note 2.is the exynos processor good enough and future proof? Coz I will having the phone for at least 2 years before I change again... This may have been asked many times in this forum but this one is vast... (Not like my galaxy y forum...) Been a while since the device was released.... So...,
How is the support guys?
Battery life? (pathetic in nexus 4)
Do you really use s pen?
I'm kinda mid sized person, how do you people manage to keep the device in your pocket?
Sound effect? (in headphones)
How good is the premium suit?
Any info on next update of touchwiz? (everybody hate it yet, I believe next one will be good)
Can the custom roms have multiwindow feature?
Which one will you be advising for me?
(no galaxy s4 or HTC m7 pls, can't wait that long... I'm in India and they release the mobile at a very high price, so gotta wait before I buy.)

Although I don't like Samsung much in some points, I always ended up with Samsung :S
I love my Note II in every single aspect.. But if you like AOSP or stock android, I dont think think will be the best choice for you unless you will not be using the S-pen. If the premium suit means the build quality , TBH its not as bad as people say , sure its made of plastic but once you get a nice case on it..it will feel very premium overall, I think you should get the Note II. The Xperia Z as you said is expensive and i personally dont like Sony's skin they keep on the phone (just my opinion). The butterfly,I dont know it maybe a good choice but i had an HTC before i get the note II and i can honestly say i will never get an HTC again no customer support..lack of updates, etc. But on paper the Butterfly seems good with Specs but daily life performance..HTC is Na-Na-Na-Na Bye bye for me
I have to say that I love my Note 2 also. I've only seen the demo (non-working) HTC Butterfly in the stores here in Japan, and it doesn't look as nice to me. I loved my HTC Desire HD, but after seeing the build quality of this Note 2, I think Samsung could have me as a customer for a long time. As for development, you can check out the rom list via my sig.
Thank you for your reply friends...
Good to hear positive ones...
Sorry by 'premium suite' I meant those apps which were specifically given to n2 and s3 by Samsung.
Not that I like pure vannila... But an active cyanogen mod 10.1 thread will be more than enough for me.
I was reading thru the battery life thread... It was very impressive... (seriously, what is the use of great features without a good juice support to use them)
Will Samloed be good to see?
(coz my favourite time pass is to count the number of pixels in my galaxy y)
Will be getting my new mobile by 10 days or so... (got exams now) will definitely update.
Thank you again friends. Just thought of asking how exactly a daily user feels about the phone

This will never end
once there is S4 available, rumor get starts popping up for Note3
as well S4 won't have s-pen feature and may be screen size should have lesser than Note2.
So i think if you have short listed go with one of it.
samsung have disappoint us with note1/2 for brick bug and SDS but as above sinancetinkaya said, same here
Always ended up with Samsung
