My current recovery does not format SD-ext properly for ext4.
That's why S2E does not see sd-ext. Which recovery is the best?
Use PX recovery

Hi
I cant mount system to make backups..
Anyone knows how to fix??
Im running gioprio 1.4
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium
That happened to me, when I was using the "stock" cwm with CM7.1.
I had to flash another cwm which came with the rom. Maybe you should look around if the Giopro rom has one too.
(Or just simply try to flash a newer version)
I will try, do you know if gioprio uses rfs or ext4 file system??

I never used it, so I have no idea. But this post suggests, there are problems with ext4:

The changelog however says, 1.4 supports EXT3/EXT4

S2E can be used on a stock rom?
If so where can I find the script for S2E?
Thk.
Cant, only for cyanogenmod, as these use other kernels

i installed PX-Kernel For Stock v3

I tried remaking S2E for stock basing on Link2SD's boot script (on stock with phiexz' kernel), but I failed. I couldn't make it mount the sd-ext partition on boot.
Today I installed android 2.3.6 gingerbread then rooted and then I installed cwm recovery and backed up my nandroid and it's only 16 mb!!!! Is this correct?

that size is corrupt..
if you allready flashed to stockrom with odin.. its mean your system is RFS.. and if you want to nandroid backup... use recovery support rfs only... CWM 5.0.2.6 by hyriand.
go to this thread .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313215
but, if you have customized/ formated your stock with other kernel with ext4 system.. you have to use Recovery with ext4 support.. use this

Hi,
I recently rooted my Desire Z and installed the CWM recovery. Now, I came to know that the CWM creates ext3 partitions while 4EXT makes ext4 partitions. I have two queries:
1. Does the latest CWM Touch recovery creates ext4 partitions like 4EXT?
2. If no, then how should I uninstall the CWM and install the 4EXT. I have downloaded the 4EXT Recovery Updater.

CWM Touch is just a touch interface to CWM so, to the best of my knowledge (I haven't used CWM since the system reset bug back in v3) it doesn't do ext4 partitions.
To get 4ext, just download the free installer from 4ext.net or buy the pro version from the Market/Play (highly recommended, and it helps support the dev). From either app, just follow the instructions and it will download 4ext Recovery and flash it over CWM recovery.

Thanks a lot friend

Just one more query (and perhaps a silly one!). If I flash 4Ext via the updater, will my mobile have 2 different recoveries with a choice to go to any or 4Ext would replace the CWM and will be the only recovery available?

You'll just have the 4ext recovery

RFS is used by the stock system. Recoveries for the Gio use EXT4.
You can't backup a stock system.
I dont know if you can backup your stock rom, but here is a cwm recovery that uses both ext4 and rfs filesystems. https://www.dropbox.com/s/vktioap6ddvj31p/signed_cwm-5.0.2.7-flashablezip-ext4 rfs.zip

Can I Install a custom rom with my current cwm recovery?
Yes you can, but make sure you use ext4 formatter before flashing

What is purpose of ext4 formatter?
Format your rfs file system to ext4, so you can flash a custom rom.
