Cant mount system in CWM - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

Hi
I cant mount system to make backups..
Anyone knows how to fix??
Im running gioprio 1.4
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda premium

That happened to me, when I was using the "stock" cwm with CM7.1.
I had to flash another cwm which came with the rom. Maybe you should look around if the Giopro rom has one too.
(Or just simply try to flash a newer version)

I will try, do you know if gioprio uses rfs or ext4 file system??

I never used it, so I have no idea. But this post suggests, there are problems with ext4:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21281244&postcount=392
The changelog however says, 1.4 supports EXT3/EXT4

I installed another version of CWM wich supports both rfs and ext4 from the topic with CWM and stock recovery.
Fixed the problem

[Q] Help: Which CWM to flash?

Hi guys, i want flash Cyanogen Mod 7.2 on my phone, but I need Clockwork Recovery Mod First. In the thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421650), under 5.0.2.7, there is options for either ext4 or ext4+rfs. I am currently using stock 2.3.4 Gingerbread, which one should i use?
Ext4 + rfs
Sent from my GT-S5660
Thank you very much! If i may ask, what is the reasoning behind that? Also, i am looking to install Cyanogen mod 7.2. Should i install the ext4 formatter? It says
"If you from stock / custom rom based on rfs filesystem, u must flash ext4-formatter.zip before flash CyanogenMod. Otherwise you'll stuck on android logo because it cant mount rfs filesystem!"
Does this apply to me?
Its for newer version of CWM wich is under construction, I flashed from stock but extformatter isnf needed

I flashed from stock also, but alway get stuck at backing up cache
I managed to make a backup ones, but that one had hash check errors.
I asked a couple of times in the original thread, and even pm'ed Phiex.
But it seems I'm on everyones ignore list

Try to roll back first to ginger and then flash it again start from flashing cwm, i recommend using phiex rom, it's stable and not too difficult to flash

I know how to flash a custom rom, but I really don't want to flash it yet, because I'm (patiently ) waiting until CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC0-GT-S5660-GalaxyICS-KANG-beta5 is ready.
And I agree that would probably fix it, but only because the system partition get's formatted to EXT4.
I just want to be able to backup my rooted RFS stockrom before flashing a custom rom.
PS.
Sorry for hijjacking this topic, didn't mean to do that.

Sd-ext not mounting scripts

I am using the ICS Beta from Sony with Dooms advanced stock kernel, I got a ext3 partition and when I use link2sd its creates mount scripts but when phone reboots it says not mounted And in root explorer nothing shows in sd-ext either.

from my experience if the kernel does not setup the sd-ext folder sd-ext will not mount. i have yet to find a ics kernel with it built in.

Stock kernels don't typically have support for startup scripts like this.

link2SD does not use the SD-Ext directory even if your 2nd partition is EXT 2/3/4. It is most prob kernel related, to be sure format your 2nd partion as FAT32, That file system can be used with link2SD and is natively supported by android.

[Q] Is this correct?

that size is corrupt..
if you allready flashed to stockrom with odin.. its mean your system is RFS.. and if you want to nandroid backup... use recovery support rfs only... CWM 5.0.2.6 by hyriand.
go to this thread .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1313215
but, if you have customized/ formated your stock with other kernel with ext4 system.. you have to use Recovery with ext4 support.. use this

[Tester Needed] s2efix -> Making your device support S2E :D

Hey guys,
I'm one of S2E translators (Italian one ) and I'm proud of my job; I'd use anytime S2E but I had problems with ext corruption.
So, I managed to obtain a little script to avoid this.
For me it works; it's written to avoid ext4 tunefs tune up. If someone could test (use s2e without and with the script) I'd be glad.
So, here it is: s2efix
Waiting hopefully for testers and reports.

Can you check if is present in your '/etc/init.d' folder a '02gio' file?

Using it always on my phone before i know other script....

Yes of course, S2E only works on cyanogenmod. But sometimes it doesn't works well on some cyanogenmod based rom, I had it my self, sometimes after reboot I can't open my apk and it's has weird icon. And I'm gonna share this on my group, hopefully there is some one there that would test this
About the init.d folder i checked but actullay i didnt mention tht the rom i have is a port from ace so it has 02cooper
Edit: Do I have to flash this zip to avoid corrupt of ext?

Old versions do note have tunefs and so no ext corruption.
For lag, on my Gio works like a charme with also data2sd.
Maybe depends on sd class or on a too big ext...

Backup everything, in order to restore later, with a nandroid backup.
Your sd-ext must be ext4.
After this:
- Wipe all
- Install CM7/9/10
- Boot into phone
- Install S2E, configure it with ext4
- Reboot, so it's enabled
- Try installing some apps
Theorically it'll lags like hell.
After wipe and do all the above but flash CM and my fix.
And, please, report logcats.

This will be out of the topic . Every time I do restore, my sd ext reverted to ext3. Is it just me or everybody else experienced the same thing?
