First of all, this is not a full nativ port. It's chroot and most credits goes to androidlinux.com. Due to problems i had with this tutorial and the tutorial in the ubuntu installer app i decided to share how i solved it. This will not damage your Android OS. In addition i will make a script in the feature to reduce the above steps on a few. We will be running Ubuntu "chrooted" under your ROM. Your phone functions will still work and there is no chance to hurt your phone. Chroot is like a virtual machine on a pc.

BootManager
Boot Manager is the first Android Multi-Booter Application! The application installs up to four ROMs to your sdcard and you can keep one on your phone as well to allow you to boot up to five ROMs and switch between them with just a reboot. This is the must have application for any flashaholic and will finally allow you to keep up with those nightly builds we have all come to love or just boot your favorite ROMs from your favorite developers. The application is great for developers as well since you now have 5 slots for testing ROMs.

Details of the different partitions/blocks in your phone. But once you enter that and send the mail, the app closes.
I then got a reply from them saying that the mail id I sent the mail to, was not used for support and I need to send it to a different mail id. Wtf.
Luckily, it was within the refund period, so I got my money back.

Guys,
Though i don't own a Samsung device (using DHD), but just to give u guys an idea about this wonderful app.
When it says that the device is unsupported, you can enter the info manually.
What it requires you to enter is:
1. device name (mentioned in build.prop)
2. SD info (something like /dev/block/mmcblk*p*) may very for Samsung
3. Size of your System / Data / Cache Partition (which you can check by running busybox df -h via Terminal Emulator)
You need to be rooted, Radio S-OFF, ENG S-OFF (HTC Terms not sure about Samsung terms).
You can check with the dev through this page as well:

How do I do that?
1. Download two apps called:
*Terminal Emulator (Free)
http://tinyurl.com/cgtrzqm
*Android-VNC-Viewer (Free)
http://tinyurl.com/c3qmobk
2. Download ubuntu.zip (652 MB = 2.00 GB when extracted)
http://tinyurl.com/7nw2zlf
3. Extract ubuntu.zip to the root of your sdcard. make sure you have room for 2GB!
4. Run terminal and type these commands
Code:
su
cd sdcard
cd ubuntu
sh ubuntu.sh
bootubuntu
cd
sh run.sh
5. So after that is complete, get out of terminal, but DO NOT close it and open "android-vnc-viewer" you downloaded.
6. Fill in the Information as follows
Code:
Nickname: Ubuntu
Password: 123123
Address: 127.0.0.1
Port: 5901
Color Format: 24-bit color (4bpp)
7. No tap on "Connect".
8. Congrats, you now have Ubuntu 9.10 running on top of Android OS!
8a. To exit ubuntu, type "exit" in terminal emulator.
Gimmie some Videos!

Thanks for posting.
I had wanted to try this a long back but I thought that the screen would be too small to use.
What's your opinion, having used it on this 3.2" screen?
Is it usable? And is it useful?
As for hooking it up to a computer screen, you can try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.onaips.vnc&hl=en
Droid VNC Server
Normally, it gives you access to the Android OS which then you could use to access Ubuntu but it may also be possible to directly access Ubuntu which then would be perfect! Give it a try and let us know.
Thank you!
That's what i'm looking for, tnx.

Open a terminal and type the following:
>[email protected]: cd "THE PATH WHERE IS THE unltlauncher.sh FILE"

Awesome. Thank you. This will let me do anything I need in Linux, as opposed to having to boot into windows.
One caveat, though. You may want to amend the OP to let users know that that they need to have internet when they try to run this script. Some of us (as crazy as it might sound) use our phones for internet, almost exclusively.
Thanks OP, just used it for my replacement nexus, works like a boss

I seem to have run into some trouble or hit the end of my developing knowledge. When I open the toolkit I get stuck on this screen. No matter what I type on the 'Please choose your device" line the terminal comes back to what is shown in the picture.
I have been having some struggles with Ubuntu 12.04 lately. I wonder if it is related. Maybe I screwed something up. It is all part of learning, right?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

About
The WinDroid Toolkit is a Windows program built in Visual Studio using the C# programming language that simplifies the rooting process for many Android devices. The toolkit makes it easy to unlock your bootloader, flash a custom recovery and gain permanent root. It also includes other functions such as flashing kernels, pushing files and installing apps. If you find it helpful, give me a thanks and a donation if you can. If you find a bug or have a feature request, feel free to leave a reply. Thanks!

That's quite an odd issue! Is your main drive letter C:? If it is, try running the program as administrator, then hit yes again.

It looks like the toolkit had issues moving the files after it downloaded them, and for some reason caused a BSOD, which is definitely odd. You shouldn't have to run it as administrator now, so you're good.

unfortunately it seems the htc drivers are causing BSODs now. awesome. I struggled through and got the phone all done. even the uninstalling the htc drivers caused a BSOD.
guess i'll be using the win8 laptop to do anything else with the one v

Thank you so much for letting me know! It appears I forgot to add a few new important files. :crying: A new version has already been reuploaded with all of the correct files. :good:

Hmmm. Before that happens, if not to late, I think you should change the files around for recoveries. TWRPC seems to be the wrong Recovery file. It's a fail boot. I compared the files. The correct one is nearly 2 MB's lower. I just got a replacement, so yeah. I use your app to run the whole process for me. Tested most of it.
Thanks!

Again, saving my butt! Thanks for letting me know. I'm not sure what happened with the recovery files. I re-downloaded the recoveries, double checked the MD5sum, and reuploaded the toolkit again, so check it out for me and make sure I didn't screw anything else up.

Hey guys, here's the source for my new application launcher. This launcher looks and feels like it belongs in Glass. The feedback I've received so far has been awesome, and I'd love to hear what you guys think.

Props to Michael DiGiovanni and launchy for figuring things out long before the GDK release.
Apk
Tried compiling the apk from your source but it failed once sideloaded onto glass. Any chance you could provide the .apk?
please post apk for testing
Yeah, source isn't compiling correctly. Please post complete source, or provide the app.

It compiled fine for me, though I had to do some tweaking in Eclipse.
I was getting the following:
[2013-12-16 22:21:03 - Dex Loader] Unable to execute dex: java.nio.BufferOverflowException. Check the Eclipse log for stack trace.
[2013-12-16 22:21:03 - GlassLauncher] Conversion to Dalvik format failed: Unable to execute dex: java.nio.BufferOverflowException. Check the Eclipse log for stack trace.
In order to fix it, I had to do two things (assuming that you've already installed the GDK sneak peak via the Android SDK)....
1. Right click on the project >> go to Android Tools >> click on "Add Support Library"
2. At the top of Eclipse, click on Project >> Clean >> selected my project and cleaned it.
Once that was done I was able to run it and have it sideload onto my Glass that I had plugged into the laptop.
Hope that helps.

@mybrotherischad , Thanks! That did it. I had the GDK & I can't figure out why, but cleaning seemed to make the difference. Maybe something was hung up.
can either of you pls post or send a pm to the .apk for a non-programmer explorer?
Not working on EX12
Loved this launcher amazing work. No longer works on EX12 for me.
Edit:
Works now with patch from post #11
The best sideloaded app launcher on glass!
Now working on EX12

The issue was tracked on my GitHub as well, apparently downgrading the Android Build Tools to 18.1.1 was a workaround, but 19.0.1 is out now and it seems to have fixed the problem altogether.

Unfortunately, Google's GDK developer policies state that, "You may not publish or distribute Glassware outside of the official Google-hosted Google Mirror API Client and GDK application distribution channel, unless otherwise approved in writing by Google."
I don't want to risk anything this early on, but I'm sure someone out there would be happy to compile it for you.

Looks like the apk isn't signed.
EDIT: Might have been an error on my side. Got it signed and installed. Working great. I have attached the .apk.
Invisiblek: if you want me to take this down, I will do so.

After adb installing the file, you have to run the main activity from adb the first time.
